The Bible states clearly the opposite of your comment. It is in the Book of Exodus 20: 8-11
The Third Commandment given by God to Moses clearly states "Remember to keep holy Sabbath day. Six days you may labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord, your God. No work may be done then either by you, or your son or daughter, or your male or female slave, or your beast, or by the alien who lives with you. In six days the Lord made the heavens and earth, the sea and all that is in them; but on the seventh day He rested. That is why the Lord has blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy"
God doesn’t need us. However, we need Him. People need Him. We were made to know Him. It is in the Church and not the secular world that we learn about Him and the biblical lessons written about.

Sadly, many have abolished Sunday on their own by how they live their lives, and in so doing, have abolished the presence of God in their lives. However, passages of Scripture such as Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2, Colossians 2:16-17, and Revelation 1:10 indicate that, even during New Testament times, the Sabbath is no longer binding and that Christians are to worship on the Lord’s day, Sunday, instead.

Christians do not need a specific building labeled "church" to gather or spend time together. They ARE the Church. If they want to be together and worship together, they CAN find a way. It's always been like this somewhere in the world. Persecution is not new.
I've read that same comment a few times. It's an excuse to not go to church or find 1-2 hours a week out of the 168 hours God gives. Keep telling yourself going to church is unnecessary. And by all means, be prepared to explain that to the Almighty on the day of Judgement.
The Church isn't a building. Refusing to gather together because a specific building isn't available is definitely something people will be held accountable for. Believers ARE the Church and they are to gather for fellowship, worship, prayer, encouraging eachother to good works, etc.

Although I'm not religious, I do know that people that want to attend church and worship do not need a church to do it. People can do it by themselves or gather in groups anywhere really. This government over reach will not stop until people stand up against it in larger and larger groups.

Also the word church is a pagan term that comes from kirke which means circle. The actual term used in scripture to denote believers was the Greek word Ekklesia which means called out ones. The Hebrew equivalent would be the word Qahal or in English, assembly.
The reason the word church was substituted with these correct terms was in order to keep the people in the dark and subservient to the leadership, they also prohibited the laymembers from reading scripture in their own language or reading it period (the penalty was death) in order to maintain their control and power, both economic and social.
This is why one of the translators of the Bible into English, William Tyndale, was burned at the stake.
