My local TX DMV experience was very different from my DPS experience getting my DL renewed. Back in 2019 before WuFlu, I stood in line for 8 hours outside at the DMV in the middle of August. It was a shitshow. Went to the DMV the next day to get extra paperwork, and was in and out in less than 30. Not sure why one agency can have their shit together, but the other doesn't. Maybe it's improved in the past few years.
I visited a DMV in North Carolina several years ago....very polite, courteous, helpful.......in stark contrast to the one in greenfield, assachusetts. Obviously no face diapers at that time.
