My off-the-cuff thoughts are that the Dems got caught flat-footed and were unable to respond immediately with a payment, or that they felt they could get the same results without paying.

That's based on the dominion algorythm, not the forged ballot papers
that's scaling votes though, not adding. so wouldn't hand count fix that aspect? 0.75 vote from machine is now 1 vote, no extra votes. maybe?
A pure hand counted vote would not reflect the dominion 'tweaks' directly, but the discrepancy would be clear from the analysis.
Eg Reported votes: DT 1000 JB 1200 Total =2200
If the handcount revealed
Valid: DT 990 JB 500 Total = 1490 Invalid: DT:10 JB 500 Total = 510
Then that would show dominion added 200 votes to JB's tally on top of the fraudulent votes.
That's just an example, I think it's a bit more complex than that.
tldr: We only need the hand count to be 100% accurate, there's no need to directly audit dominion because the dominion effect will be clear from the results of the hand count.
in a 2 team contest, if one side is caught cheating they forfeit the game and the other team is awarded the win.

I'm guessing there may have been some kind of limitation on where the $1m would come from, and possibly the white-hats have already tied up their funds with other stuff. Think of it this way— most criminals (of every ilk) think they’re smarter than their victim— they usually get caught because they have a haughty attitude— I think they thought they were done with all of it when sc denied cases and other scenarios moved forward— Trump left politely- inaugural crap— I think they’re scrambling now because it’s really happening and they weren’t prepared— they thought it was a done deal

The impacts of this audit will have far reaching impacts. Im sure someone would have paid the million for the lawsuit if it was a valid concern to them. I cannot say why they backed down, but I'm just not buying the "they didn't have the money" thing. If this really is the first domino to fall, the cabal would do everything to try to stop it. We cannot underestimate them now; we did that as a species before and look where we are now. Something about this smells off.

It’s actually less than .49% as a switched vote from trump to Biden would go back to trump, therefore it would reduce that number by half because Biden loses 1 while Trump gains one. That is unless you are referring to fake or illegitimate ballots only
I hope this is nothing, but I saw a report that their is some shenanigans already happening with the audit. Apparently, the list of approved GOP observers were wiped from google and they were not being let in.

An expanded theory. Digging is welcome. I think this is why they are in such a rush to pack the SCOTUS. At first POTATUS wanted a report about it in 180 days. Then all of a sudden the AZ audit gained traction, and suddenly they were drafting a bill to add 4 justices. I think their plan is to get ahead of it before it reaches the courts
