I've stopped buying Chinese-made products for the last 5 months and I can't tell you how happy I've been and how much money I'll be saving.
A lot of Chinese goods are cheap upfront but you'll always end up paying more in the long run as you replace them more frequently. The frustration that comes with using crappy tools and items suck too. Using American / Canadian / Allied products simply is more enjoyable.
Stop buying Chinese. Hit them where it hurts!
You probably cannot buy anything anymore, without it having Chinese parts inside. Well, electronic anyways.
Most chip manufacturing is in Taiwan. Important to kept China out as much as possible.
My company was bought up by a Taiwanese company a year ago. They're commie bastards just like the Chinese.
This is why I only buy used computer parts.
I recently had to go through my parents old water pump shed where dad kept most of his tools. I was always a tool freak myself but bought the latest models. Electric, battery powered, air tools, etc. Well, I found some of pop's tools this past weekend, wood planes, saws, scribes, calipers, etc. All made in USA and still working! Not every new technology, is good. Sometimes, the old stuff just last longer, and works better. Planes are still sharp as razors! I love every one of them too!
And some of the old furniture too. Old wool tables that last in family for 50 or hundred years vs crap that falls apart after 5 years
Oh yeah, moms cedar chest! Made by Lane furniture, sold by Schreiber & Miller company in Galveston! Just the legs were bad on it. And it went through hurricane harvey in 2017, under 4ft of water. Cleaned up, looks great. Brass hardware still works perfectly. It also got soaked in hurricane Alicia in 1983. Awesome piece of furniture
I will. But currently just moving stuff out to make room. Finally having old house demolished for new house. But I have to get pictures of everything for insurance coverage while in storage. Soon. Very soon. Im also very new to GAW. So my posts do not appear to be showing.
Dont buy Craftsmen any more. Older craftsmen made in USA Now made in China.
Sad
I paid more for Craftsman at Lowe’s labeled as made in America- a cordless drill and tape measure, was excited to support USA. The kicker was the disclaimer in small print had made in America of imported parts. I would support a double insulated cup competitor of Yeti if made in America but have not found a company. Have any of you?
Serious we need to build our own companies.
Of the top of my head Kodi is
Check pelican. Yeti sucks in comparison they just have marketing. I own two pelican coolers and chose them after comparing to yeti when I was looking to bu something nice.
Also pretty sure hydroflask is usa made. They made those vacuum insulation containers before the cooler companies jumped on the wagon.
Snap On ? I think
Had an air-conditioner (made in usa) and whole house generator ( made in usa) installed past year, I simply refuse to buy china made appliances/ products. ?
Espezcially those items. I'm talking rakes, garden tools and some shit like that. I had to spend two days looking to find a fucking American made flag In a store here.
What were the brands? I'm making a list
Generac generators made in TX to a large part Trane A/c
Thank you so much! We need a sticky of all USA companies!
Looking at you amazon

I am trying to buy USA. It's a difficult road, we need manufacturing in the states. Everything is made in Chyna!
I bought these cute little ceramic mason jar salt and pepper shakers, get home peel off the stickers on the bottom and BAM! Made in China printed on the bottom. They got me. Shady losers.
Been trying to do this since for years. I spend extra time in the store looking for the 'made in America' tag. Bought a wooden garden hoe from Lowe's. A Craftsman. Says made in America right on it. Broke literally 3 days later. Looked closer and only the wooden handle was made in America, the head was made in China. Yeah.
I'll sum it up in one word : Snap-on
S&k and wright are great.just make sure your snap on/ William's is the American stuff.
My work boots are always made in the USA
Red wing and double h union made right here
The problem is that even major non Chinese quality brands that proudly state 'made in whatever other country not China', are filled with sub-assemblies and parts made in China and the 'made in is basically 'assembled in'.
Guns and some tools(machine and wood-working) are basically the only remaining products where you consistently get a product made where it says it was...
Peaches & Creme cotton yarn used to be made in the USA. I knew it had been sold to a Canadian company (can't recall name at the mo). I ordered a skein from Walmart. When I received it, the label said "Made in China", and the yarn is totally different from the old P&C I still have that was made here. And I can't find a tea ball (to put loose tea in a cup) anywhere that's not made in China. I try, but it's very hard to buy stuff not made in China.
Or you could put tea leaves in a pot, like what people have been doing for hundreds of years. :P
My parents lived through the depression and WW ll so they knew how to pinch pennies. I remember one time when I was younger, we were in a 5 & 10 store. I picked up some small little trinket and asked mom if I could buy it. She made me turn it over to see where it was made. It was stamped "Made in Japan". She told me immediately to put it back. Now with the crap with China, I can understand her feelings a bit more.
Scared me for a second. Read it as, (Stop buying Cheese). I though in that brief second, Oh no, what have they done to the cheese.
Delete Amazon unsubscribe fuck their cheap shit they short the seller hard!
Amen brother
Stopped shopping at wally world first because of the masking, second because of reading 80% of the products come from china. did not click until seeing that.
it's truly the "dollar store with more"
Made in USA kitchen gadgets, dishware, furniture, can all usually be found at goodwill, OR more personally preferred Deseret Industries thrift (morman areas) - Deseret is a much lower price point and often nicer stores imho.
Can also usually find vintage Made in Japan items circa 50's/60's that work just as well, since we were rebuilding their manufacturing base at the time.
First thing I look is country where it was made. THis goes for food products. NOTHING but USA, Japan, Jordan, Israel and other allies.
I bought a Panasonic microwave oven from Overstock a few months back because it listed the country of origination as Japan (my dad was 82nd Airborne in WWII and that's a whole different story!) even though it was more money. It arrived and it was made in China. I gave it to my kid. I still don't have a microwave oven.
Trying dude but you k ow so little is made anywhere else. Time to ope. A company the builds something.
Try Etsy!
But but but ... You can get Chinese in "twenny minute"!!! kek
