I've always said that you don't need to like a politician or the president; he doesn't need to be your friend or anything. He's not really there to be a figure to worship or even necessarily be a moral paradigm. He just has to do the job the right way and well. It deflates the whole "Trump is a racist thing" in potency without even caring about it; so what if he is, if his policy is good?
That said Trump is the best!
One positive I hope we get out of everything happening is that normies at least start realizing that personality and other things are not needed for a good president. My sister hates Trump because he is a "fake Christian", but really he's just an honest man who practices professional hyperbole and doesn't hide the fact that he's a billionaire playboy.
So true. I keep trying to explain to my fellow Christian you don't have to be "kind" to be loving. The Gospel is offensive to many sinners because they don't want to face they are wrong yet preaching the Gospel is the most loving act a Christian can do. Also, many Christians go so far as enabling the sin because they don't want hurt someone's feelings or drive them away. My message is STOP being a doormat.
I feel compelled to say that, perhaps, "nice" would be the term to use rather than "kind." One can be nice (polite) to a person without a second thought. Being kind (caring/loving) toward a person takes initiative and effort. Indeed we as Christians are called to be kind. Nowhere in the Good Book does it say we have to be nice.
They haven't learned our history well. It's not all sunshine and rainbows after the new testament. Byzantium fought off Muslim invaders trying to enter Europe and take white slaves for hundreds of years prior to the Crusades while the rest of Christianity sat on their hands. We are today's Byzantines. It's a thankless job but our duty, nonetheless.

Regarding BTC (and distributed networks), he seems impressed by the technological implications and believes the prospect of new wealth will attract people. Whereas the host seems impressed by the monetary implications and believes the prospect of new technology will attract people.
Like some of us, he is on the spectrum and can respond bluntly when struggling to communicate a point. I chuckled when he referred to the host's response to some point as, "snap-to-grid intellectualism." He wasn't ugly about it, but he could not suppress his frustration because he wanted the host to think deeper and wider.

I got that impression because he is gifted with an uncanny grasp of numbers (mathematical physics, economics, finance), he seems more interested in ideas than people or things (he has spent decades on a unified theory), and he has a reflexive involuntary repulsion to hypocrisy or unfairness even if social norms dictate it is better to compromise or to go along to get along (hence his rejection of academia).
His perspective is fascinating to me.
