I went to pump gas before coming home tonight, and the sign in the door was a picture of a mask, but people including myself were walking I'm and doing business without them. Some folks still wearing them, most don't seem to be.

I live in the biggest metropolitan area in Texas. This week grocery store changed their "mask required" signs to "masks recommended".
Maybe 12 people inside, including employees were wearing masks. Last week I was the only one there without a mask on.
It just proves that most people are only wearing masks to be compliant. Remove that requirement and almost no one gives af.
It’s a real life psychological experiment on how easily people give in to peer/societal pressure. I’ve been observing maskers and notice that a lot of them have this jumpy fear of what other people says or thinks. That’s what keeps them with this stupid masquerade.
Much the same in my part of Michigan. Signs changed to maskless if vaxxed and the first weekend maybe 1/3 were maskless. A couple weeks later almost everyone is.
Id love to move to Florida but its to damn hot for too damn long. I am a contractor and work outside. It sucks in the winter but its worse with the temp in the 90s with high humidity. At the end of the week you are completely fucking drained. I walk around repeating I hate the sun.The wife wants to do something outside and all I want to do is sit in the A/C. Not that what I want ever happens ;)
Plus I love the snow and winter sports. Playing hockey with my friends on the pond outback. Sipping applejacks around the fire at hunting camp. Snowmobiling and skiing. May/June and Sept/Oct are glorious months in the north. Ill take four months of perfect weather vs 10 months of unbearable heat.
But when I retire perhaps I will reconsider. Spend 8 months at my cabin on the river in the woods in Northern Michigan and 4 in Florida.

I’m out in the rural Dekalb and I still see masks all over. I thought rural folk were mostly conservative and not putting up with this shit, but man I can’t get over it. At least more stores are allowing people in maskless, so I shop at those places now.

The restrictions are still being lifted June 15 BUT he is holding onto the "state of emergency" so that he keeps his emergency powers. So that probably means he'll slam the state shut when the recall vote comes up.

Santee is better than most places ..I’m in Tierrasanta, so right up the road ...last March I knew the masks were coming so I made an official looking medical exempt no masks badge and wear in on a lanyard .. Costco allowed it for awhile than a few months ago they handed me a plastic shield and said medical exempts need to wear this , I said no and walked out! Trader Joe’s.. I pretend I’m mute and just mouth the words medical exempt , they trip over themselves trying to help me , texting and showing me they’re phone with the words “ let me know if I can help you ! But vons , homedepot , Marshall’s most places respect it! People can’t imagine what it’s like out here , nut jobs hiking by me in mission trails wearing mask, people sitting on their boats in harbor island masked up, wackos driving, I was down PB wends and goof balls on the beach wearing mask ...you’re here you see it ..fkn crazy isn’t it ! I was so looking forward to the 15 th what a drag ..well I’ll still be free but would of been nice seeing other without it ..people need to rise up ..Orange County is basically free and fighting ..my church Awaken never closed accept for 2 months last March , no masks no social distancing ..used to be on news every week .. glad to hear a fren is close by ;)
Oh yeah, Santee really isn’t bad at all. Lakeside is probably the most lax in my experience to where I get discounts or free stuff from mom and pop shops for going maskless. I hear you about the idiots on mission trails hiking with masks. I was on the Kwaay Paay trail recently and I saw these poor kids no more than 6-7 years old red in the face and sweating trying to breathe through their mask. It made me so angry with the mother towing them along. I wish everyone who’s had enough with our BS mask mandate would take a stand so that the weaker among us find the strength to ditch theirs as well. I still see way too many driving with masks on. It’s ludicrous.
