Isn’t this an admission to fraud? After all if it was a clean election no one would be even discussing how these things were remedied in the past and no one would have a fear whatsoever now would they? So they executed traitors in the past. If you aren’t a traitor then you don’t have a thing to worry about do you?
I mean the odds of the vast majority of the folks involved actually facing the death penalty are slim to none. Most will likely face prison sentences of varying lengths.

An important distinction. Many of these lesser figures are likely held in place by blackmail (of varying degrees). It would be 'cruel and unusual' to punish these in line with the architects.
