Yes this approach by the police won't actually do anything to prevent this.
I'm FAR more concerned that our police are considering a tactic like this as acceptable behavior from a public servant. This cop needs to be disciplined if not fired.
What he needs to do is start shouting ng ivermectin is a possible cure for covid, or that the election audit needs to take place, or Hunter Biden has pictures of him abusing drugs and children, and you won't need vaccinations, and YouTube/FB/etc will insta-ban the video.
Exactly, The whole idea behind this, to prevent being posted, is the copyright infringement of the audio in the background. While disguised as an effort to drown out their speech.
On fakebook it works. I dont know about other places. But i know it works on fakebook. I just got nabbed for an old vid i forgot to put the "disclaimer" on a couple days ago.
The record company will just use the copyright to take the ad revenue from the video in most cases. It would have to be drawing a lot of attention for the record company to go in manually and select the option to have the video removed. Usually the only people doing that are smaller creators who are mad their videos are being used in compilation channels. You could mute the section in the video with the music if you want your ad revenue and want to make absolutely sure you don't get a copyright strike, but it really shouldn't be an issue. Besides, copyright strikes expire after 3 months so as long as you don't do it too often you're good lol
This is brilliant it also makes it so hard to edit what he says and take it out of context since we all know the song and any micro edits will be out of place. Genius.
Damn Twitter is so bad. The top posts on it are all idiots with blue waves and no profile picture saying some divisive bullshit that is fucking insane. Nuke Twatter from orbit.
If that is actually a law or a rule on YT, then it would be super easy to do. Just let it play for 9 seconds, pause and do a voice over to explain what is happening, play again for 9 seconds, pause again, ad infinitum.
I bet if Taylor Swift becomes known as the brand that cops are hiding behind while they do illegal shit because they think it wont go on YouTube or the Internet that the Taylor Swift LLC or wtfever corporation she uses would absolutely love to sue the ever loving shit out of them into the stone age - criminally and civilly.
You can still post, but you will want to have the sound muted while the song is being played.
You can use captions to show what the cops and everyone else were saying.
And then, you can sue the cop for violation of your First Amendment rights by prior restraint and fraud. He has NO reason at all to do that, OTHER THAN to prevent you from publishing your work to the world. That is prior restraint, and you can sue him in his personal capacity (which means the department/city cannot pay for his attorney fees).
it's cops that do shit like this that tarnishes the police image across the country... a few shitballs make the whole thing stink!! nice job, dipshit!!!
Someonw here in comments remarked how this protects the police also...it makes it easier to see/hear when a video has been altered/tampered with. As long as we get to film I am okay with officers doing whatever they need to keep safe also. It's a tool in the toolchest. I support my local police, but where I'm from they are a great bunch of people doing their job in a mad, mad world.

I have never isolated audio before...schooling never ends.
Yup, exactly what I was going to say.
What idiots.
Yeah but then it's dOcTOrEd!
The original can still be used as evidence in court when you sue the cop.
As long as you put the words "i do not own rights to the music" your video will not be covered, removed or censored cuz of the music.
On fakebook atleast
What he needs to do is start shouting ng ivermectin is a possible cure for covid, or that the election audit needs to take place, or Hunter Biden has pictures of him abusing drugs and children, and you won't need vaccinations, and YouTube/FB/etc will insta-ban the video.
So funny, so sad, so true
I actually thought before I opened the post that it would be something about the election being stolen and Trump won.
That eliminates half of them.
Lol. Truth!
Yeah which is still a good feature.
Exactly, The whole idea behind this, to prevent being posted, is the copyright infringement of the audio in the background. While disguised as an effort to drown out their speech.
I'm pretty sure that does absolutely nothing to prevent removal due to copyright.
On fakebook it works. I dont know about other places. But i know it works on fakebook. I just got nabbed for an old vid i forgot to put the "disclaimer" on a couple days ago.
YT has all but thrown Fair Use out the fucking window at their discretion.
What a take ....you can still upload whatever you want it just can’t be monetized
Sorry OP, I don’t mean any disrespect, Doesn’t that just mean that monetized channels Would have to mute it?
I would love to tell the cop to his face hey buddy I can put captions on this and anyone can play it on a platform lol good one

Taylor Swift is just gonna take the money off the video if it's posted, it won't necessarily get a copyright strike.
Yep. This would impact Twitch streams but that's about it lol.

The tactic RSBN uses at Trump rallies when pop songs are playing: they have to keep talking over the music so they don't get removed from YT
If music is playing, they must be talking. 10 seconds (I think* it is 10. It may be less.) of uninterrupted unlicensed music gets them fined/banned.
If that is actually a law or a rule on YT, then it would be super easy to do. Just let it play for 9 seconds, pause and do a voice over to explain what is happening, play again for 9 seconds, pause again, ad infinitum.
This seems unnecessarily risky for live tv. You miss it once by a second and you get fined. A lot easier to always be talking.
oh please let them think this will actually stop people from uploading
Can be used by both sides, utilizing censorship never ends well, however it will push more of these videos to GabTV
+1 for creative thinking
I couldn't hear the music enough to tell what it was. I'm pretty sure the video could be posted to YouTube with no problem.
I’m surprised that shiny faggot recognized the play so quickly.
Brilliant!!
And now they cannot even play the "I was just following orders" card.
Slowing it down to 95% also works.
You can upload it and it should only be taken down if the artist complains. You can then contest the take down notice as fair use.
Why are they all wearing masks
Stoopid

Unfortunately the kind of person that becomes an oathbreaker is the same kind that's clever enough to circumvent the law.
Apparently Twitter allows this lol
They need to change laws specifically if you're not monetizing the video
Faggot pig

Even if it’s on a different platform other than YouTube, if I hear a Taylor Swift song, I would stop watching.
Fair usage. Though, of course, complicit Big Tech will be happy for any excuse to take down video they don't want posted.
it mutes the cops recording as well
He'll just shake it off

Lol when are you gonna figure out the pigs r enemies to both of us?... FTP
Yeah but they shouldn't be enemies. usps helped defraud the election but i still need my shit delivered
usps also spies on people’s social media for conservative content. DHL, FedExpress, UPS… we don’t need usps
Excuse me...it's fagot - MUHSHILL...learn the difference.
