American society is fucked up. I went into business in the trades in 1987. Ive seen many many young males come through my company. Around 1995 I began to complain to my wife of what I called the wussification of America. And its only accelerated since. I am offering 30 days pay as a bonus if you can make it 90 days. Only 2 out of ten hires have made it that far. One is a girl, one a male. Both around 23. The girl is more man than the male will ever be. Its really sad to watch. And shes just a slender little thing.

We need to surround ourselves with people who have some old-time survival skills like growing and preserving our own food. Finding heritage/heirloom seeds. Also, we need to talk with family friends and neighbors to find out who has what skills. I've spent a fair amount of time thinking about the talented people in my life. If we all need to move together and live together, it may be the only way. We can't all move to Florida.
Also, I have a hard time growing anything (in Florida) and never had problems anywhere else. I know citrus is easy to grow here but I’ve tried so many vegs and a few fruit I know could be successful (strawberries) and I always fail. I know 99% of the problem is ME, but it just doesn’t seem that easy. There is either too much sun, or they do great for a few weeks and then are covered in weird moldy looking stuff or bugs. And I really don’t want to spray fungicides, all the other ‘cides on my plants. So anyway, something to consider if you’re planning on homesteading or trying to be self sufficient. I love it here otherwise.
Loving Missouri for the growing season and beauty. I do miss WA mountains and beaches and family and friends whom I had to leave, but aside from that, it can all sink into the ocean
Get a composter/digester. Make your own soil. My friends across the country do that. Use leaves, all of your peelings, coffee grinds, egg shells, fish remains etc. It's a challenge when you live in a really hot and/or dry state. Sevin dust in a powder form is great and is safe within a short time for harvesting and eating.

I live in Utah and I haven't heard a single thing about this. I even work within a block of the DMV. Most everyone except Salt Lake City is conservative and would absolutely bust a gasket if they tried to use this kinda thing here. I have every reason to believe it's faked. If it isn't then I'm shocked it hasn't been slapped down.

Gross... Yea evidently it looks like something they are pursuing? I just remember seeing a brochure of this a week or two ago and I saw that it was not a real brochure (but that possibly the change was real, but not yet changed) I don't wanna see this in fact, a lot of the communities out here would have a problem with it.
One thing is for certain, if it goes against the grain of the Mormons here it won't survive long. Sad in a way, since they have some of the strictest policies on a lot of stuff but honestly I feel safe where I live. It never got bad here at any point but it feels like an island sometimes, can't go anywhere else and get this kind of freedom. (I'm in southern UT I hear SLC is way worse) but yea it's a bit shocking seeing the other parts of the world react the way they do. Seems alien that people would just be like "vax me harder daddy" vs "wtf is this gonna do?"
