Every time I see/hear something about churches bowing to man instead of God, I am reminded that the Pope said "there was going to be another global Flood" because of Climate Change, and everyone looked around at everyone else with a blank stare and said "Does this Pope even know the bible or has he ever read it?"

Because they give up their First Amendment rights in order to get kickbacks from the Federal Government and their members can get tax deductions on their donations...

For the purposes of these programs, churches are considered 501(c)(3) organizations and are directed to claim this designation on their SBA application, as long as they meet the following requirements:
• the organization must be organized and operated exclusively for religious, educational, scientific or other charitable purposes;
• net earnings may not inure to the benefit of any private individual or shareholder;
• no substantial part of its activity may be attempting to influence legislation;
• the organization may not intervene in political campaigns; and
• the organization’s purposes and activities may not be illegal or violate fundamental public policy.
Note that the entities administering these programs – including the Small Business Administration and lending institutions across the country – are currently facing a significant influx of applications.

It's not "first amendment rights." We don't have "privileges" granted us by government; we have Natural Rights endowed to us by our creator. The Bill of Rights doesn't give us our rights; it acknowledges the rights we already have, and (ideally) makes it so the government cannot take them away from us.
And declaring your organization a 501(c)3 means you're voluntarily agreeing to give up those rights.

Call me out, I didn't say which Easter though... I was telling people in march 2020 we weren't going be able to vote without permission of some sort and I was wrong. The 501c3 has always bothered me though. My opinion is it's why a lot of the church leaders I know and know of simply will not discuss politics. If I'm right though ...I guess I'll just declare some kind of greatness?

So Christians fought decades ago and now don’t have to share 25% of their tithes with the government and you are complaining? The IRS would love you, and being 501c3 has NO impact on being controlled by any authority whatsoever. Gov has NO hand in any sermons. This could change but as of 2021 there is no freedom being given up in the pulpit. Why should a CHURCH pay taxes!? Cash only tithes 😎

Churches never had to pay taxes. The only reason many register as 501(c)3 organizations is so their members can claim tax deductions on their tithes, not realizing they are giving up control of their churches to the government.
There's a lot of carrot/stick behavior going on to get churches onboard and register as 501(c)3 organizations, which is why the majority of churches have indeed registered as such.
Remember when the Indianapolis Baptist Temple was seized by the IRS during the Bush administration because they didn't play ball and decided to preach the Gospel in spite of the warnings? Of course you don't.

If they say "will help prevent the spread" ask them what page is that on because I've read the documentation on the vaccines and nowhere have I found it "prevents the spread" or "prevents you from getting covid"

4: What is so scary about covid? If they say "you can die from it" ask them why they were never so scared about the flu since the death rate is the same.
Legit, we are trying to get a religious exemption for the vax for my wife's green card med exam / interview. She is Catholic we went to the priest here in town. He says the Bishop told them not to write a letter for religious exemption to anyone.... Fucking insane...
I live amongst the Mormons and I appreciate the people that they are, but their leaders not only refused to reject it (that it was formulated with fetal tissue - a huge no no for them) but also boldly told them that they would refuse any request for a religious exemption. for the love of your god.... please research what stocks the Mormon church owns.... J&J... I wonder if they made money from this....
This is not an issue of faith vs science. The issue is - and always has been - totalitarianism vs science.
This is just as true for "safe and effective" as it was for the sun going around the earth.
Faith is a component here, though.
In order to say no to the vaccine, you need to pass four tests.
IQ (the ability to recognize the world as it is, categorize it and demystify what is occurring)
Moral Compass (the ability to see what is right and wrong about the situation)
Character (the ability to make a decision, and not have the decision made for you)
Faith (the ability to believe that God will fill in the gaps to your uncertainties when you inevitability choose the morally correct decision).
If you fail any of those four tests, the odds of getting the vaccine drastically increase, and only the Grace of God will dictate otherwise.

Amen. My MIL church pushed it hard from the pulpit. He was/is terrified of Covid. I consider him a false teacher. And he will face judgement for leading the flock astray. She of course took both shots and it makes so sad and angry that she was so easily duped.

No matter what the Church does or says now, I stand by my theological claims and find solace in the many longer-term, more experienced members who also recognize that something wrong is going on.
