I was recently offered a job with a company who has offices based in texas.
The offer was verbal, which I accepted. Comp, start date, discussion of duties and more all discussed at length with a formal offer to be sent to me the following day.
The job Ad I applied to had no reference to a vaccination requirement, nor was it mentioned during 4 separate Interviews for the role. (I even googled the company but no vaccine policy could be found) After my verbal acceptance, my to be manager mentioned I would need to bring my vaccine card on day one, which was the 1st time I was informed.
I'm now being told I essentially have two choices... take the job and get the vaccine, or tell them to shove it and not accept the job I have already accepted and want.
Any help, or advice would be hugely appreciated.
Youve received the offer... in writing?
Sign it, and send it....then show up, and make them terminate you.
You will preserve your rights that way.
I concur.
^This
I concur too. Make them fire you for medical reasons. Then find a pro bono attorney and sue the snot out of them.
this is very good advice
You could also amend it (vaxx related) , initial it then send it back...
Tell them to shove it ! Do not comply.
You don't need advice. You already know the right thing to do. You just need the courage to do it.
This is the answer right here
In Texas on Oct. 11, Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order banning all entities, including private businesses, from compelling receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine by any individual, including an employee or a consumer, who objects to such vaccination for any reason of personal conscience, based on a religious belief, or for medical reasons, including prior recovery from COVID-19. Violators may be subject to a $1000 fine.
Yes! This website an anon posted earlier confirms this. You can view each state's policy on mandates and vax passports.

You want to work for a company that wasn’t up front about this?
Is this a job to die for?

Accept the Job and tell them you are not going to share your medical information and stand your ground. let them fire you if they want, or force them to buckle.
What will they do if you walk in without a card? Will they arrest you? will they throw you out of the building? I doubt it. Try it and see. If they want you bad enough they might make a little squeak to appease their masters, but leave you alone otherwise.
Is this a position that requires a particular skill or education and is difficult to fill? Because it's hard enough to fill positions for unskilled labor, let alone something with stringent requirements. You could call their bluff and show up, refuse the HIPPA violating demand for vaxx card and explain that this topic was never brought up or discussed until you had already accepted the job. However, if this job requires a move for you, I wouldn't go that far, obviously. Good luck. They were deceitful with you (or stupid enough to assume 'everybody's doing it.) But look closely at Tewdryg's comment. Check that out.
Take hold of of johnson, lift it out of the way slightly and check to see if you still have any balls left.
If you do, then brazen it out, if you don't...well, you can always try Oprah.
Yes... I am not getting the Jab over money.
No offense but questioning size of my balls is less the point, although good thinking.
Im thinking, legal or labor rights etc...
Happy to walk away
:) Good luck
Don't take the vaccine. It's not worth harming your body or your life.
Tell them to shove it. Plenty of jobs out there. im fully prepared to lose everything to protect my integrity.
look in florida.. you wont have to worry about that shit
Boy they got over on you that time! I wonder what they will get over on you with next time?
There’s nothing to discuss, don’t take the experimental injection.
I'd get another job because your health is more important and the shots are just too risky. Save time on the next job hunt and politely ask them up front if they require the shots.
This doesn’t bode well for how the business is run and employees are treated. I would also expect they may have an RE process they haven’t voluntarily told you about, too, if the job is super important to you to start out the gate fighting…
sorry but you messed up, fren, by not asking in the very beginning. Do not, not, not take this job and compromise your future.
Why? Shouldn't companies inform people? what other things should I ask them about that aren't advertised on their website or part of their job ads?
Not being sarcy but that rests on them right? I see lots of others doing it
This is not right... They should have explained this ahead of time that vaccination is required for taking this job.
Don't do it, no job is worth being misled/ is it? Who know's what else they'll want to do to you/ maybe implant you with a microchip on your first day of work?
It shouldn't be a choice please by no means put your life at risk for a paycheck. Don't sell your soul to these Satanists.
I love myself and my fellow frens a lot, not an a suicide mission I promise...
Not trying to be a jerk, but why didn't you ask that during the interview process?
Is it incumbent on me to do so? I see many jobs posted stating vaccination requirements... this had none.
Meet with Dir. & Snr Director of HR.... no mention, googled the companies name and Covid policy.... zero
It's your call obviously, but it would have saved you a lot of time and effort to know the answer up front.
Companies do not, nor are they realistically able to communicate all of their requirements or policies during the interview. You as the interviewee should ask about things that are important to you.
The vax is a deal breaker for me, so that would be a question I would ask early on in the process.
With that said, you can't change the past anyway. My two cents would be that you will not want to work for this company, considering their stance on the jab.
I understand your view on due diligence, and yes I could have.
How many other things do companies mandate that are health related?? Only one I've seen is no smoking and they let you know immediately.... not like its not a huge topic governing our social climate for 2 years. Not the point its the principle 😊
Any exemptions offered?
No according to the person I spoke with... who is not legal counsel or HR.
Which is why I'm annoyed/confused at the sincerity of his response
Report them! Texas Governor said they can't do that. He even set a hot line to Report companies that are mandating the shot!
oral contracts are valid.
Don't take the vaccine - that's not EVEN an option. What about saying you invoke your religious exemption? All they need to do is provide reasonable accommodation.
That's what I'm hearing commonly, so thanks fren.
No jabs for me
That my fren is a "tell". You invested all this time hope and planning and this is what they do....
You could pen a letter, if you really want the job, and itemize why you are The Perfect fit.
Last paragraph is where you advise that you require a minimum 2 year extension on their requirement for a medical procedure.
Low Probability but know this...tight job market and your reply will move as fast as a firecracker up the chain of command and may help you or the next Freedom Fighting American. Best of Luck....remember We Won and God has a Plan for You!
They came for me... 4 ivs in 3 days then job offer.
I ain't fucking getting the jab, zero, nada, nil. They either need to make reasonable accommodations given their inability to inform me of their policy in contradiction of state law or.... still stewing on the next best step.... hmmmm (legal if an option, or just turn up and ball in their court them)
You have a plan. Good!
I photoshopped mine and they fell for it
Signs you actually have a job.
1 paper work signed. This is were you CONFIRM things like salary.
2 you get a paycheck
That is it.
1 more useful data point to note. Your bonus is $0 Until you see that fucker in your bank account. Now you can spend it. NOT BEFORE. Don’t be a Griswold.
