Funny story you just reminded me of; Several years ago when we were boaters in WA San Jauns. My husband and our bro in law took our son and our youngest niece salmon fishing in Deception Pass. They had our 28’ Bayliner Capri Cuddy at the time and had purchased barbed hooks unaware that they were deemed illegal since they had bought them at a spirting goods store. When they brought in the fish a Fish and Game warden stopped and ticketed them for the barbed hooks but gave the kids free ice cream cone certificates for wearing life jackets. Washington State (Inslee) control issues.🙄🙄🙄

I taught that curriculum!!! I was a 5th grade teacher in a Christian school for 9 years and that was our history curriculum. I thought it looked familiar but knew for sure when I saw Heritage Studies at the bottom. I hope I would have appreciated that answer back then but I’m much more awake since the stolen election.
Yep! He goes to a private Christian school. I’m wondering what his teacher thought about his answer. She’s new this year, so I don’t really know her too well yet. I have a feeling she may have had to look up what “deep state” meant.

I’m curious as to what his teacher thought, too! It’s crazy-I was reviewing stuff in his history book for a quiz this evening and it was about the same stuff going on right now. The slave-loving Democrats trying to cheat to get their way and the state’s rights stuff—that’s what really fires me up!

Now while I do agree with you on this probably being as good as a 4chan greentext, I learned cursive as a kid in school and I'm not that old. They probably do still teach cursive these days.
My teenage son knows and writes cursive because he began his education for the first couple of years in a Chrisitan school. Your experience isn't everyone else's.

It’s real. My kids go to a private Christian school. They teach cursive in 3rd grade and have to write in cursive until 6th grade. After that, they can choose to print if they want.
It’s a private Christian school. Cursive is taught in 3rd grade and it’s required to use until 6th grade. My son hates penmanship, but I’ve told him he may be one of the few left when he’s an adult that can still read the documents of the Founding Fathers, among other things.
Knowledge is power and experience can’t be taught. Good for that boy. We need more of them.

Rhetorical question: why do they still teach cursive? Why not make keyboard typing a standard class? It seems more practical given how much technology plays a part in our lives
So why teach printing? If one wanted to permanently change history what better way than to eliminate the ability to read the letters and writings of individuals who lived it? Without a machine and keyboard, no communication. IA is not the way. I want my grandchildren to be able to read their great, great, great, great grandparents' stories in their own words and written in their hand.
Cursive is faster than printing. More efficient
