Hey, the fact she wants to leave your child with you sounds like a plus to me. Let her go and sign custody over to you. Many guys faced with a relationship in the dumpster would love to be in your situation.
That's pretty much how I've been coping with it. She has literally texted me "You should get custody of the baby", so it would be pretty cut and dry I think.
She doesn't want to be a mom so take her at her word. It is not good for your child to continue with the current situation if that is how she feels. Best to take this bull by the horns and run with it. Just make sure you legally protect yourself so she cannot waltz in years from now and turn the lives of you and your child upside down. If you can get her to sign over not only custody, but her rights as well, so much the better. It would save a lot of ugliness in the future and allow you to move on without being attached at the hip to an ex. By making her sign over her rights there would be no financial encumbrance for her going forward. Perhaps the thought of not being financially responsible in the way of child support and insurance fits into her plans. It would be a way to find out if she views this as a temporary situation or whether she really wants out. Once you can get her answer to this you will be better able to plan. Good luck fren.
If you want another partner, then be seen out and about caring for your baby and get the opportunity to tell people you are single if you can. Go to stay and play groups where there will be some single mothers. This will work!

If she's OK with giving up the kid for a job, she's a shit mother anyway. Take that opportunity and get custody while you can. If she decides to act like a woman again, you can let her back into the child's life - but not one moment before.
What's so crazy about it is that she doesn't even have anything lined up. She has no HS diploma, driver's license, or work experience, and she thinks that she can move back home and get help to do those things when they didn't help her when she was actually a teenager

I read about the shower thing a long time ago. That has always worried me and I love taking a long shower.. what is the best way to fix this? Some filter system I'm sure, but that sounds expensive.
You can try taking a bath and detoxing the water with peroxide first. Just make sure to vent the room for the chlorine off-gassing. Otherwise, a really good filter is your only bet. I don't have any recommendations because I've never had to live on city water.
