Twitter is alight with clips that allegedly show a Ukrainian jet soaring through the skies over several cities and shooting down six Kremlin planes in dogfights on the first day of Vladimir Putin’s aggressive war against the former Soviet republic.
However, one video which got nearly 5million views and spawned the rumours has been thoroughly debunked as a clip from the 2008 videogame Digital Combat Simulator, with a Reuters Fact Check concluding: ‘A vertical video shared online does not show a Ukrainian fighter jet shooting down a Russian plane, but comes from the videogame DCS.’
Despite this, Kyiv is now openly promoting claims that the unnamed pilot exists, in an apparent bid to rally the besieged nation behind an urban hero and fuel support for Ukraine’s war effort.
Exactly, or even years ago. CNN or MSNBC I guess has been showing old footage in parts? Friends of mine says it was called out on Twatter. But I don’t have access to Twatter to confirm.
Yesterday, MSM was reporting that Russian troops, and active combat, was happening in Kiev (I refuse to use the new name :) ). Today, they are saying troops are moving toward Kiev. I think the live video images are real, and they didn't want to be the inverse of "Baghdad Bob".
If you go on even YouTube, they have 24hour live feed from Kyiv. I’ve checked it every day and night except when sleeping, and it still has yet to show any heavy fighting or shooting footage. Maybe some random flashes in the distance and one big explosion when the “full station” as MSM media put it, but Russian and on-ground News, bio-lab was precisely hit. If Russia reeeeeeeeally wanted Ukraine it would be a cake walk to send in all of the 120,000 plus or minus, out of the original 150,000 troops sitting on the border.
