I like that term, normalcy bias. I think that describes people who watch a lot of TV news.
It's a real term in psychology. Look it up, I'm sure you can spot the people in your friends circle who are like this in 2022.
Its very easy to say: "Let's wait and see" when presented with evidence you aren't sure about.
Why not take a neutral standpoint? Why instantly discredit part of your audience? That doesn't sound like someone who thinks about his information clearly.

And "entertaining a thought" means more than performing a mental juggling act for the benefit of onlookers.
I think Tim Pool is a plant. Possibly Controlled Opposition. From day one, his You Tube was never tampered with. Good people who had large followings were being censored, their numbers viewed were often lower than the numbers of Likes, and then they were removed. But Tim's channel, from day one, were always high. Other people were kicked off. So Who does he work for? Is he protected, and fed information from the White Hats, or the Black Hats?
I'm glad I'm not the only person that felt that something like this was happening.

The only time to my knowledge his stream got interrupted was when Alex Jones was on and mentioned WTC Building 7. BOOM the stream died seconds later for several minutes.

There's people like Joe Rogan and Russel Brand who take these risks. There's little guys like you and me that fight with our jobs to avoid vaccines. Families have lost thier livelihoods, jobs, family members over the truth. You have to have a strong character to stand up against this system, and while I used to like Tim, he does not possess these qualities even though he believes he does.
Stay strong, eat a good diet, and you won't fall prey to this wishy-washy bullshit anymore, friend.

Haha exactly! I like most of Tim's work because he's good at reporting the mainstream news and pointing out the media deception by omission, framing devices and is able to really break down the processes they use to perpetuate false narratives.
However, he is not without his flaws and there is much to criticize. I'm not stating he should be perfect, for he's human like all of us. But he does some annoying bullshit and his normalcy bias shtick really gets on my nerves sometimes.

This! Give him some credit, he's not stupid. Look at it in this context and Tim's behavior may make more sense.
What would he go down for? Feel like that would be one of the harder crimes to pin down when you're talking about propagandists.
I think he's the type of person who will dance on both sides of the fence for social credit, but as soon as the boot comes down, he will push you on the other side of that fence and claim he never knew you.
A fair weathered truth seeker. One who seeks the truth but also wants to be told what he wants to hear.
His staunch supporters have that quality about them too. I know a guy who watched him so much, he started emulating him, and he wondered why women couldn't stand him.
People don't like being discredited when they find truth, yet Tim does this and alienates one side of his viewers constantly. There's absolutely no harm in staying neutral saying "we'll see how that pans out" when this happens.
It's not mine either, but my words carry integrity. I would defend our rights even if I lost my job over it; even though I do not know you, and we disagree in this conversation. You can't say the same about Tim.

My friend who religiously watches Tim buys into this civil war fear porn, but you know what stops him from buying Tim's outlook hook, line, and sinker? My friend is a Christian. Any Christian-based explanation my friend has stops Tim's influence dead in it's tracks.

That's a good point. Tim Pool's numbers were sky high from the get go! That was another thing that made me suspicious. But it you weren't looking for info when he first came onto You Tube, you wouldn't be aware of that. He does put on a good show.
He also used to work for Vice, so it's not like he isn't known in the industry.
Though I will say he's pretty good at it because of how hard he rides the fence.
