My Lord, what did they do to that poor McLaren? My guess is the owner made some serious coin on DOGE.
Haha, good point. As a car guy, I wouldnāt waste my new wealth on that.
I'm with ya. My neighbor planted ornamental plants in their raised garden beds. With the world falling apart, normies are rearranging deck chairs.
The last I checked weāre all fighting for freedom. Freedom to earn our money, and choose to spend it the way we choose. If that person wanted to indulge in their vehicle then Iām for it. Saying that you should take your money, help others out, and serve the community, is a very socialist idea. However; Iām not against helping others, as Iāve done a lot of that in my life. Butā¦ To judge somebody else because they decided to indulge in something for themselves, and then claimed they shouldāve done something else with that money to help others, is a socialist comment. Itās something AOC would say. ! Iām for freedom! Freedom to earn your own money! Freedom to spend that the way you want to! And freedom from judgment from others when you do so.
Also I spent many years helping drug addict kids. There are a lot of people that you help, that are ungrateful, and wonāt even do the basics around the house just to keep things running. You can dish out money, love, companionship, and all manner of Christian attributes. But sometimes the amount to nothing. I learned my lesson the hard way.
Yes many were helped, but at the cost of our family. So I love this car. Personally I think itās ugly, but I think itās beautiful in a way that somebody chose something for themselves. Some thing that Americans do! Some thing that when somebody has access, they indulge in it. I am all for that.!
Because I have helped others in the past, Iām not in a position to do that. So thereās that.! Itās a two edged sword. Always!
Very good point that I missed. Thank you for sharing. Also the idea of investing in family members, is a more likely scenario. I didnāt think of that either.
I think for me my view of everything thatās happening in the world is much different than others. I lost my job, my house, and my husband all in one year back in 2009. And I lost my mind at the same time. LOL.
I have a daughter who is 30, sheās a raging liberal, sheās not having children, and she wonāt even speak with me. Other than that - my mother, who is 81, I have no other close relatives; except my brother who has lived in Japan for 30 years. He has no children either.
I will never be a grandmother, I will never be a aunt, and I have no other children. Once my daughter dies, the legacy of our family will be done.
I am in a very odd, and rare situation, where I do not need to worry about my legacy. Because I have none. Having the freedom to know that when I die, I die, sometimesā¦ Is a very free thing.
I know where Iām going when I die, I have a relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and I welcome the day when I get to see him. soon my mother will pass on, and since my daughter wants nothing to do with me, I am ready to go see my Lord and Savior whenever heās ready for me to come to him.
So I do view things much differently than most people. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It helps me to understand them much better. God bless you and have a great day!
I think you should change your screen name to: ThisIs"Howl"tStarts . if you are a follower of ADog you will get it...
Thatās funny. And I do get it!
...wags tail joyously....
Such a nice conversation I had. I was going to DM you and tell you thank you for this post. It was very positive, and I got to talk to actual people. God bless you and have a great night!
Let alone park so damn close to other vehicle š but kuddos to pic grab
Youāre assuming the Dogecoin car parked last. It couldāve been the other vehicle that parked close to the Dogecoin car.
I have a dodge charger, over, over, and over againā¦ People will park next to my car, or as closest possible. The entire parking lot can be empty, and when I pull into a spot, immediately after somebody will park right next to my vehicle.
Thatās when I back out of the spot, and find one further down. I donāt mind walking. I just find it amazing that people are sheep, and instead of giving anybody space with their vehicles, they have to park right next to them.
People generally are envious of others vehicles. So itās more likely that white SUV parked so closely to that car, in hopes that it would get damaged with the door. Even though it is wrapped, once the wrap comes off, there could still be a dent in the vehicle.
Itās sad but true. Itās difficult for people to actually be happy for others when they succeed.
I had a charger. Lovely vehicle but I kept having issues, and it was new.
My brother got the newer sport model a few years ago and the entire computer system went haywire. Couldn't charge phones, couldn't change settings (seats would heat automatically, no AC as it's through the computer) no radio or blue tooth.
Had to replace the whole computer system linked through the radio, $1300.
I hate New cars.
Iāve had several problems with mine itās a 2015. However, I bought the car in California when I was helping to take care of my dad when he was dying. At the time they had a lifetime bumper-to-bumper warranty. All I have to pay is $100 co-pay to have repairs done on my vehicle. Of course this is minus basic maintenance like brakes, lightbulbs, and other little things that normally you would have to pay for yourself. Tires etcā¦. I consider this a gift from my father, and from the Lord, because My car is in perfect condition because I keep up on all of the repairs. Itās $100 each time I take it to the shop. So if I wait for a couple of issues to build up, then I only paid $100 for bringing it there. Not for each problem. Iām very fortunate and very grateful. For some reason they donāt sell those warranties anymore! LOL. They were counting on me selling my vehicle within five years, and I will not be doing that. I will keep that car for the rest of my life. My favorite car ever, best car ever, and I am very satisfied and grateful.
That is amazing! My car is a 13 year old Rav 4 with close to 100,000 miles and it runs great. This year the alternator fried, I had to get it towed and went to a mechanic recommended by a friend.
Dude changed the alternator and said it looked like lightning struck it. Changed a few fuses too supposedly and charged me 1100 for the repairs (tow was another company).
A few weeks later, sizzle BOOM alternator blows again. I went to a different mechanic who changed the alternator for a new one. Previous guy had used a rebuilt one but sold it as new to me (piece of shit) and I was nervous that it would happen again. Guy charged me 350 (way less) and guaranteed the part so if it happens again he'd swap it for free.
A week later i take a trip down the shore and rent a house with a friend. We harbored a fugitive murderer day 1 unknowingly but that's another story. Coming back, a few miles from home I hear an explosion in my car while driving, pull over...yep, blown alternator. Had it towed to the same mechanic he swapped it for another new one and this time I took it to the dealer.
Turns out the cooling pump was broken and the car was overheating causing the alternators to blow like that. Next time I'm going straight to the dealer and bypassing any other mechanic.
That's my luck. I've had terrible luck with bikes and cars. Blown clutch that was bad for the factory, tons of other issues, blown tranny on my brother's stick shift 80 miles from home in the middle of a snow storm while heading upstate,
Popped 3 tires from a bad batch of tires in one week.
Another 3 tires got flats in 1 week because I kept getting nails stuck in them even though I was just driving highway and parking in clean parking lots for orientation for a new job.
I kid you not, my luck with vehicles is the worst that ever was with anyone who ever existed.
Wow thatās some crazy bad luck with vehicles. Iām glad you finally found out what the real problem was. But yesā¦ I only take my car to the dealership. Thatās the only place the warranty is actually valid. But they fix it with OEM parts, and if thereās a problem I go right back there and a bitch them out. And yes they donāt always do their job, but theyāre always a little worried when they see me coming. Iāve been taking my car there for seven years, and I donāt think they make that much money doing warranty repairs.
Oddly enough Iāve had the same problems with tires. One day I got two flat tires on the same side of my car. Talk about trying to get somebody out to fix that. It was a nightmare. AAA will only send somebody out to assist you with your vehicle if you have a spare, but if you have two flat tires you only have one spare. Letās just say I flipped out on him that day.
I too have had multiple flat tires within weeks or in the same month of one another. I mean ridiculous amounts of flat tires, screws, nuts, bolts, and just basic $10 tire repairs over and over.
I donāt know where you bought your tires, but the dealership had a special on Goodyear tires by three get one free. Weāre set of tires Iāve ever had. Iām pretty sure that theyāre either poorly made, or defective on purpose. Yes thereās a warranty on them from the dealership, but youāre not gonna go all the way to the dealership for a screw in your tire, or stuff like that.
I will never buy tires from the dealership ever again, and I will never buy tires on special. Do you think youāre getting a deal, but in the long run, the amount of problems that you have to deal with itās not worth the savings.
One time I had to empty my entire trunk out, and change my tire myself, because AAA couldnāt be there for at least an hour. This was in the summer, and Arizona in 110Ā° Iām a woman, not one person stop to offer me assistance, even the security officer for that Shopping Center, sat at a distance and watched. I was furious! However, I do know how to change a tire, And every woman should.
This is what feminism has done to the world. Also it was some upscale shopping center with like an AJās or high-end fruit and vegetable market. Of course no oneās going to stopā¦ Theyāre all too busy trying to keep up with the Joneses to help anybody. Snobs!
My other reply was very longā¦ But Iām not letting you get away with the comment about harboring a criminal. You have to tell me the story. I want to hear it. Either reply to this, or DM me. Iām sure itās very interesting. This is what I come to this forum for. To interact with real people. Not to see the same post over and over and over again. I already know the state of the nation, Iād like to meet up with people, with stories like this. Please share with me!
True observation fren I usually park way out and come to find one right next to me of course is it weird Iāve taught our kids when u exit ur vehicle always make sure you donāt ding yours or theirs itās just common courtesy right?
I as well donāt mind a walk I enjoy and take care of my vehicle so thinking they zoomed right in next to the dogecoin makes complete sense indeed
I know huh! Even when you park way out there, theyāll be a car parked right next to yours when you come out. Every time. Itās crazy. I know I donāt know in the parking lot, but when you take extra steps to park as far away from the building as possible, if somebody parks right next to you it just seems like itās purposeful.
Thank you for teaching your family when you get out of your vehicle to be careful. I am very careful, and not just because I donāt want my car dinged, but because I wouldnāt want it to do it to somebody else.
I donāt care if itās a $500 car next to mine, I still take care because somebody had to work hard for that money to buy that vehicle. Itās just a matter of respect.
Thanks Fren šø
Exactly Fren !! (: have a good day
Less likely to scratch with the wrap. Lol
truth haha
The McLaren or the wrap? I saw a Ferrari FF that was wrapped in an unusual color. I asked the guy at the shop what the story was. He said the FF was black, but the owner wanted to see what it looked like in a pearl red, so he paid 13k to wrap it.
I'm a car guy too. If I had the scratch for that level car, it'd probably be a GT3.
I wouldnāt waste it on a mclaren and I grew up loving their F1 road car.
Now a days, I donāt find the appeal in super/hyper cars. 200mph is nothing for a well engineered car today and what good is that capability. You can have a ton of fun under 150mph on a good track. I would enjoy more of a Porsche or lesser car, a good driverās-car. Porsche are funky to drive but they arenāt usually over stated and flashy. Having driven a few super cars, I donāt want the attention and worry associated with them.
With that said, I could care less for most materialistic things. I am in favor of ownership, I just donāt get attached like I used to a depreciating object that is worthless when SHTF.
I have a stryker 1350 cruiser with a raked out fork and fat tire on the back. I can hit 135 tops but that's more than enough for me as I only ride street. Turns are rough, I often have to scrape pegs at higher speeds, but that is quite a thrill xD
Just make sure the previous owner didn't exchange the hero blob for a rounded steel bolt head like mine did on my 1.5L Victory Vegas.
Fortunately I discoverd this 'lever' on a low speed turn and managed to keep it rubber side down, but definitely one of my most 5p/50p moments (not sure what the US equivalent would be, 5c/50c maybe ;) )
First bike was used and I spent more fixing it than if I had bought it new.
This one I bought new in 2014 and have been happy with it since. Only a couple of accidents with it, nothing serious.
First bike I high sided and flew dozens of feet over a drunk driver who blew a stop sign š
Heck, a C7 Vette will do 200 mph for under a 100k.
F1 sucks these days. I went to the USGP at COTA 2 years ago and the track was wonderful, but the cars, meh. Didn't even need earpro. It'll be interesting to see Miami and then LV.
I agree - all of the fancy stuff won't be worth much if SHTF. Although, I did see some kid driving a Rezvani Tank around my house the other day. That may have some value at the same price point.

winks
Love the pup, but he needs sound.
People who like dogs are usually pretty cool. š¶
Very true. I see people in my town riding around with their dogs, heads out the window of course, the dogs, not drivers, and it always makes me smile.
If they can afford a McLaren, they should install a Shiba Inu barking for their horn!
I dunno, Shiba Inus' hourly rates are pretty high.
Who let the dogs out, who, who?
Dog comms. Yep, I'll bet it is.
Wouldn't it be great if he actually has a dog that looks like that?! & while the owner is driving, the dog sticks his head out the window?! That would make my dayšø
Would be even greater if the dog that looks like that was driving.
šā¤
Now that's funny. People driving past on the road would think; am I seeing things?
u/ashlanddog - might want to see this ;)
I came here to read the u/ashlanddog response. What are you doing right now, joy riding with your tongue out the window!
Me, too. Either he's doing that joy ride with a "Let's GO!!" Or maybe sleeping. Even our most prolific posters need to catch some sleep occasionally.
And many dogs take multiple naps all day long. They tend to be light sleepers and if you walk too close they'll open an eye and look at you like, "What the hell dude, I'm napping."
With that drawn out, audibly annoyed breath.
Gets up. Circles around a bit. Lays down in the same spot pointing opposite direction. Falls back asleep.
Has some sort of nightmare that has its limbs visibly moving while asleep.
Kicks the wall, jumps up, embarrassingly looks around to see if anyone else noticed, as everyone is staring, walks over to food dish, and is like "What, I was just getting up for some food. Geez."
Lol u/ashlanddog howls we found you in the wild
...wags tail enthusiastically....
lmao
...hey I think I have been found....
...doggy winks....
AshDog is famous, makes me smile.
If it's not, it should be. š¤£š¤£
