Why is this stickied? Go to your local Walmart, “Beyond Meat” is always on sale to entice new buyers during the inflationary period. Saw a bunch today. Lab meat is being pushed on us hard and fast.
My argument is that since it has no blood and no bones to attach to, it lacks collagen and iron that real meat has. It’s inferior and less nutritious.
Beyond meat is not cultured meat it’s meat replacement with other forms of protein. Cultured meat is still pretty new and expensive. What they don’t tell you is the amino acids are not the same and likely not going to be able to give you the same nutrition as real meat.
Just my 2 cents worth. The idea of cultured cellular meat protein is a commendable endeavor. The slaughter of animals on a whole scale is fraught with some pretty abhorrent and ethical issues. The conscientious farmer/rancher uses humane methods of slaughter. Big business isn't interested in humane methods, just the cheapest and most efficient. As in all things that seem to come with big business, eventually morals and ethics are thrown out the window. I support the cell cultured meat substitute for mass production. This is a great way to take animals out of the hands of big business and place it back in the hands of ranchers and farmers that raise their animals with some semblance of compassion. Of course, after big business goes the route of bio cultured meat products, they will launch a massive smear campaign on animal farms and ranches and bribe politicians to regulate the small family farms out of existence. They will mask it behind a "grass roots" movement for animal rights. We have seen this 100's of times before and it will continue until we start putting restraints on corporations and their ability to lobby politicians. If people want to eat the cultured products, good for them. I just figure it will be only a matter of time before they start putting all kinds of weird crap in there for whatever crackhead purposes they dream up. I, for one, will take a hard pass. I'll go vegetarian before I put this in my body. Unless I make it myself.
That we even have lobbyists in a Constitutional Republic is beyond me. Politicians should never be beholden to anyone but “We the People”. Then again, we’re more like a banana republic trying to disguise ourselves under the cloak of “democracy”.
Even with something as simple as a bird, raising it the only variables that can be controlled is food and environment, and all that still goes through a relatively complex organism angled toward survival that have every evolutionary reason to filter out and process anything that may be harmful to that complex organism.
With vat-grown meat you no longer have that complex organism but just a very simple part of it and there are no really filtering mechanisms or anything angled towards the survival of the whole working towards getting rid of anything bad, which means every variable and component of that vat-grown meat is 100% under the control of whomever grows it in every way.
Meaning the level of potential manipulation and alteration that can be done to it is the same as with processed factory cardboard-box 'food', and that stuff isn't worth trusting even when it is made out of parts from actual dead animals and harvested plants.....
Plenty of chickens and roosters living in the wild on Hawaii. Perhaps because there are no snakes to eat their eggs helps. The island of Kauai has wild chickens as well. When I inquired about it, I was told that a hurricane accidentally set a whole farm of them loose. That happened 8 years prior.
This wouldn't get rid of every farm or family raising chickens. It would be just another option on the free market. Regular chicken would continue to be raised and eaten. As evidenced of people on this board, there's going to be a sizable portion of the population who would continue eating farm raised chicken. The market would continue to supply that chicken. As this article says, the lab grown chicken is still fairly expensive. Some people will pay that premium to eat meat that wasn't slaughtered, but the cheaper, farm raised chickens would stick around. Or people raise their own chickens. So chickens will continue to exist.
The first thing that came to my mind reading this, is the movie starring Charlton Heston and Edward G Robinson, "Soylent Greent". What an eye opener for movie goers back then, 1973.
As for buying the lab meat, thank you, but I will decline. Call me old fashioned, but I will stick with real meat. Meat from real cows, meat from real chickens, meat from real turkeys, etc. Hey you uber rich people pushing this on the rest of us, you eat it.
I agree 100%. It would be a great help to all who will not eat this way to find local/state farmers, butchers, etc and get as much, if not all food from them, not grocery stores. This goes with other goods too. (Trade clothes, home goods, dishes, etc). Barter comes to mind. Mechanics, seamstresses, bakers, all stages of trades, can be bartered.
I don't trust local meat markets to provide real organic beef-no growth hormones, no antobiotics and NO cannibal feeds.. I am 76 YO, been comfortable anywhere meat is served at friends/families houses and only mildly amused at the question "What DO you eat?"...
What this shit does is open the door for deliberate seeding of _____ 'for the better good'...
The barber said: “If it were as affordable as McDonald’s nuggets, the choice of cultured chicken would be easy because I can continue my meat-eating lifestyle while avoiding contributing to the slaughter of chickens.”
Oh, well. If your whole world-view of chicken revolves around McDonald's "chicken" nuggets, you probably deserve to eat this garbage. Unfortunately with things like food products, it may take years to determine if they cause any damage to humans.

And they expect us to buy inferior supplements due to the lack of nutrition that this "frankenfood" lacks

Indeed. I can foresee a day when I’ll be buying only whole chickens and cutting them up myself.
No vaccines, no counterfeit meat, no bugs.
Yup, it’s gonna be a hard pass for me on all of it! I don’t do bug juice. 🤢
It's always the way. Make us weak in body and mind and spirit and get easily culled.
It's also plant based...Or soy.
Fund conservative media.

inb4 the chicken virus/shortage is to get people to eat this trash, which ends up making them sick.
Bioreactive tendies?
Double it!
This is one of the many reasons why we raise our own chickens now. Gross!
Blade runer. That is all.
What fresh hell is this!!? 😳😳🤦🏼♀️🙈
When do the two-headed babies arrive?
This is a genetic horror show in the making. And I don't mean X-Men.
Lol as McDonald's nuggets continue to get more expensive.
Sticky?🧐
This is why Gates is buying up farmland all over the world. He can then shut them down to force people to buy his franken-meats.
@mods thought this was a Q board?
Is this why Singapore people are always depicted as crazy and mal-nourished in movies?
The thing is if we didnt slaughter chickens they would go extinct. They only live b/c we farm them.

There are no snakes in Hawaii!? 😮 runs to start packing for the move to Hawaii 😂

the goal of the globalists is to end the practice of eatung meat.

These are the times that I will not regret becoming a vegetarian 47 years ago... I can testify it gets easier after the first 20-30 years.. 😁
Why? I simply wont put that shit in my body. I'll buy real meat or Raise it myself.
If we refuse their shit their shit isn't a problem. Let their blind followers eat their soylent green.
If you refuse their shit, they would still take your tax dollars to subsidize poor sales lol.

This just feels like a nutritional disaster in the making.
How do you prop up “fake meat” profit without the public going nuts over being forced to choke it down?
Oh, well. If your whole world-view of chicken revolves around McDonald's "chicken" nuggets, you probably deserve to eat this garbage. Unfortunately with things like food products, it may take years to determine if they cause any damage to humans.
Dumbest shit ever. Affordable poison who the fuck needs it.
Looks like Singapore has some deeps tate issues. Send China.
Biosynth is the next big thing.

How does it not?
