Huh? You just have to go into your security features and allow installation of third-party or unknown sources.
Simply pop over to your phone's Settings menu (usually found by hitting the menu button from the home screen) and tap the option for Applications.You should see an option that says "Unknown sources." Fill the check box next to it, then click OK on the resulting popup alert.
Don't think it requires that much know-how anymore. Fortnight did it a fews years ago when Google fucked them around on ad revenue, I installed it on spare phone for my nephew. I remember it only being like a 2 click setup

I feel a lot of people are having misunderstandings about their phones.
Whether apple or android, you are being tracked in MANY ways. They know what apps you have (doesn't matter where you installed them from), when you use them, where you use them, they know where you are based on GPS, they know where you are based on WiFi around you, they know where you are based on bluetooth beacons of phones and other devices around you, they know who you associate with (other phones and devices frequently around you), they know when you sleep, they know when you go to work, they know who your friends are, I honestly could keep going for ages on this...
And they have multiple ways of gathering those details. And old school counter-measures do not work. When you turn wifi off, it just stops the outbound data stream. Modern phones still listen and catalog the wifi signals around you passively. Same with Bluetooth.
Unless you have fully degoogled your phone, your reservations about downloading Truth Social via the app store are futile. Fully de-googling your phone is not easy or for the faint of heart, although it is easier than it used to be. There are also a few places where you can buy a ready to go de-googled phone (only one that I personally trust).
Even then, you need to be very careful about the apps you install. You'll also be giving up a lot of convenience items. For example, if you use location services on a particular app, its most likely not reading and interpreting the GPS data directly. Its most likely hitting the google maps API on your phone and google maps will not be on a degoogled phone.
So unless you have done that, there is no point in getting upset there is no direct APK to sideload. It would make ZERO difference. If you have done all that, you'd already know there are ways of pinching things off the official playstore anonymously.

They can't have a widespread launch of an Android app without Google putting it in the Google play store. Most people don't know how to install apps that aren't in the store.
I bought a Samsung because it has the ability to bypass the official App Store unlike Apple. If they just would have had a web browser version ready at the same time as the Iphone app, everyone would have had access. The fact that it started as an Iphone exclusive app for the 1st 3 months is a terrible strategy

it isnt easy or trivial to degoogle and you give up a lot of convenience. From a data privacy perspective, neither Apple nor Google are "good", but Apple is far better relatively.
If you root your Android, you can install a software level firewall and lock it down pretty well.
You might not be giving google your money (directly), but unless you FULLY degoogled your phone, they have everything still.
It's the only way to de-jew the device.

Once the PWA launches, all you have to do to install an "app" on mobile is go to the triple dot browser menu while on the page and select the "Install App" button. You can even get push notifications if you want.
You can try it with Gab today. It's very easy.

Yeah it basically makes a web page book mark into an app button on your phones home screen. I do this for Plex because their mobile app is shitty without the paid license. On chrome mobile the option is called "Add to Home screen"
Ah I see. I haven't installed Chrome mobile on my iphone. I use safari which may be a little bit better as far as tracking (fuck google). I just found out there's a Brave app. I shall install that now!

I never could understand the popularity of iShit. More expensive and less features (far behind) Android products. Back in my IT and PC-building days, we referred to Apple/Mac PCs as "computers with training wheels you can't remove".
Apple devices have always been more secure than android. It's why the govt is currently forced to use apple devices.
PWA is progressive web app. It can be added to your launcher on any platform and can receive push/pull notifications with message indicator.
It's basically and offline capable webpage with local storage. More limited than an app but just as useful.

Good and acceptable if they don't require phone or mobile verification and no subscription enforcement. This is why the .win network is only acceptable. Verifications are synonymous with the removal of freedom of speech unfortunately and I see no way around it.
