While it was shocking to see, she and her bf witnessed a bald eagle slam a large owl to the ground and attack it they ran outside and the eagle took off, the owl was still alive so they put it in the old dog house incase it was just stunned but, it died over night so they buried it. There are wild rabbits all over the place, I have to stop the car many times just driving down the long dirt road as to not run over them, don't know why the Eagle went after the Owl and do not know why the large owl was out and about during the day but, the moment she told me my mind went straight to the symbology of it all. Eagle taking out the Owl.

Symbolism will be their downfall!
Lmfao
By intervening the owl died anyway and the bald eagle went hungry.
Yeah but, there is an over abundance of small game for the wild life, in the area right now. Not just rabbits but, small marsh in the back acre with duck and all sorts of bird and rodent.
Never intervene in a natural kill. Ever.
To what extent?
I draw the line at getting involved with anything Clinton related, personally. ;o)
Ever, Fren. A bear and an elk, a cat and a mouse, and hawk and a prairie dog, a falcon and a pigeon. Natural kills. Leave it be. By interfering, We only disrupt the natural order and you aren’t saving anything. Once the attack is initiated, the damage is done.
Not wrong, I was just being facetious probably, didn't sleep much around this time
Damn….a realist….
While shocking, bird vs bird as prey is v common.
Sometimes eagles attack owls over territory, less often as a meal.
Hawks love fledglings.
Crows main predators are owls, hawks and eagles
Owls eat song birds and so it goes round and round...
Still cool as heck tho!
One of the coolest things I ever saw like that was a peregrine falcon take a dove. It used the momentum from an almost vertical dive to flatten out and glide about 100 feet only a couple feet off the ground into a group of doves. They all took off but the falcon grabbed one in an explosion of feathers
Awesome!
About 20 yrs ago, by chance, we looked over and saw some wild turkeys in a field and in an instant, a golden eagle swooped, turned sideways and, as you said, it exploded the turkey into Lindell stuffing!
Mind-blowing
I witnessed a group of crows attack a red tail hawk's nest once, strangest thing I ever saw.
As most of the crows would engage in arial combat with the hawk, literally mid air collision, a few of the crows would grab the fledgling, flying high and dropping them on the concrete, flying down grabbing them to drop once more. The crows ended up killing all three of the fledgling.
My Girlfriend at the time was a bird freak, and had all kind of feeders up, so it was a buffet for the hawks, the crows didn't eat the fledglings. It was territorial or revenge.
Strangest thing I've ever seen crows do.
It's Chicago in bird world.
It was coordinate and relentless, I gained a new respect for crows that day.
Birdbrain just didn't apply anymore.
I believe the crew of crows would have ruled
Chit-cago...
a group of crows is called a murder of crows so they prolly love chicongo
They got the right mentality.
Murderous Crows
We have a crow family that raises 1 or 2 babies a year.
They and their murder will aerial assault starlings and drive hundreds+ away. It's like coordinated squadrons. So cool. Better than loud noises, etc
And they did to a golden what you described vs the hawk!
Crows also can remember you by face and body shape; if you are an ahole to them they will scream at you AND tell their buddies and they'll do the same! So cool.
Yea. I've read since they are as smart as teens, (I'm assuming past generations of our teens).
Sounds like you have a cool setup.
What's your thoughts on raising pigeons for food in a SHTF situation.
For a brief time I had a pair in my youth, trapped them under a bridge. Used a old dresser drawers for a hutch.
Once it was discovered what I was doing, the pigeons were killed because attempts to drive them off were unsuccessful (Stupid woman).
There's a large population in town about 20 miles away, should I only expect 2 gen not to reintegrate with town flock?
I know it's done, but I'm not educated on it. Sorry
I saw a hawk swoop in one time and take one of three pigeons sitting high on a light post where I used to work. They tumbled in air towards the building where I was working and hit the side of it tumbling to the ground. Instantly they were both under one of our customers cars and I saw feathers flying. An instant later the hawk carried it across the street to some train tracks and then I saw more feathers flying. Craziest animal attack I ever witnessed.
I saw a hawk dive in and grab a frog and you could see the legs dangling. Another got a chipmunk from the same spot and it made me sad because I loved watching the little "chippies". We have tons of squirrels but NO they don't seem to like them, only the cute little chipmunks. Now we don't see many of them.
yes....predators are competitors
Yup, understand that Eagles and Owls do compete for the same prey
Owls can and do take eagles and other raptors down, usually slamming them as they are perched in a tree. Natural rivals.
You literally watched the symbol of America smash the Symbol of the Illuminati into the ground- Kill it, and you’re surrounded by Rabbits..one could assume they are trying to lead you down a Rabbit hole. Kek.
OOh, I like this. Another thing came to mind.. The Large owl was caught out IN THE LIGHT so as to become prey for the Bald Eagle. Eagles hunt during the day, Owls at night.. rare to see them both out at day or night.
Dark to Light. DED
dear diary
That’s sad. Do you know what kind of owl it was? Sounds like they did the best they could. Birds are great about hiding illness and injury. It was probably mortally wounded and at least had a peaceful death.
I’ve found hawk feathers in my yard. We have a lot of red shouldered hawks my my neighborhood. By a lot, I mean every day you hear them multiple times. They sit on light posts and look down at you as you walk by. I feel blessed by them. Anyway, one day I saw some stuff in my grass and went to check it out and found multiple hawk feathers, bloody and strewn in clusters all over. It was beyond upsetting. You’re not supposed to keep them so I just gathered them and put them beneath my live oak. Nature is brutal sometimes. The owls harass the hawks and eagles, they fight over territory and the crows harass the hawks. I watch a Fort Myers eagle family cam and the great horned owls are always attacking the eagles during nesting season. I love the birds though and have one as a pet.
I feed the crows every morning raw peanuts. They disappear for the winter but come back reliably every late May. I always wonder if they’ll be back and then one day, sure enough they’re waiting by the back door early in the morning. I see the same one usually at first because he/she has a little tuft of white on the shoulder. Then he calls his fam and more show up. They make my day, to be honest.
Crows and Ravens are notorious as being smart birds
I have seen crows in Texas but only saw a raven a couple of times. Those birds are huge.
I feed peanuts to crows, ravens and a couple different kinds of blackbirds on my daily hike to work and back. They all know me by sight but the crows are my favorites. I recently got a crow call and have been practicing cawing back and forth with the birds. One pair seem especially amused by my efforts, and one of them seems to egg me on with call & answer play. It also has started garbling voicelike noises in with his chatters, so I throw in some words ("Hello! "Good to see you!"...) so maybe he (or she) can learn to speak. Our language exchange program, kek!
Yep, very smart.
she said it was barn owl but, when she described it's size it seemed more the size of a great horned or short ear.. both in the area as well and barn owls have that heart face. Yeah, it was upsetting, always is when stuff like that happens as natrual as it is. They buried it in the garden next to a chicken that they had and died all topped with rocks and a decorated stick cross .. lol, love my sista.
Cant keep them? says who? That's crap.
On Navajo res you weren't supposed to pick up and keep anything.
My Indian buddies always said, "fk the BLM and the govt. These pottery pieces and shit belonged to my family. Take it. It's yours, man "
Unless you wantonly killed a hawk, you can keep the feathers. No one owns feathers or birds.
Check out old school bikers , esp around here , they have hawk feathers/tails, turkey feathers and all sorts of stuff as decoration.
The hawk as a blessing? It's the habitat.
Used to have an owl outside my window every night, told the Navs, "Oooo, someone's going to die!" No one died. I just thought it was mating calls...
https://www.featherfolio.com/blog/guide-to-legal-and-illegal-feathers-in-the-usa “A law called the (U.S.) North American Migratory Bird Act was made a long time ago when people were killing too many birds to use for fashionable hats. It’s a broad-brush law intended to protect birds. It doesn’t recognize the difference between plucked feathers, shed feathers, or bird skins; you can’t have any of it”
I’m really into birds. I’ll respect that law. Idk what your friends do or if the law even applies to Native Americans but I’m gonna respect the birds and the law.
So when a hawk feather lands in my yard and I take it in, put it on the table till someone tosses it out, is against the law?
I do obey the law, not imbecilc ones. They lied about DDT, so I don't believe their bird counts either. Like no birds are killed by windmills, but they are.
No one kills hawks for decor. Usually a road kill or natural death only.
There's a hawk just above the dam right now in a clump of feathers in the road.. bad timing!
We have nesting great blue herons, turkey vultures and hawks near and above the dam, as well.
Was in Cherokee, NC today...everyone should see that landscape at least once. NOT Gatlinburg!
Love the birds!
Bird of prey feed on each other often.
Owl takes Baby Hawk
Eagle > Owl = Victory Rabbits all over the place = Masses waking up to the rabbit hole.
Your story did not make sense…….until the last line….and then 🤯
The eagle is a whitehat
I also saw an owl just chillin on the double yellow line in the middle of the road as cars passed. Like dude, get in a tree or something!
Aren't invasive rabbits running amuck in Australia?
The owl is in the doghouse = Dems struggling.
Love this!
If you put an owl in a doghouse, it will die. Should have put it in a birdhouse.
It was an old wooden dog house that had not been used for years with open front, if it was alive and came to senses it just needed to fly right out again.
Territory.
I think the eco system is fucked up From Covid.. never saw so many rabbits all over the place.
Allergies are the worst I’ve ever experienced
They are lucky the Eagle didn’t attack them. I’ve seen videos on YouTube Eagles attacking people & deer. Also it’s an act of nature, circle of life. There’s always going to be a dominant animal killing & eating a less dominant.
I don't understand why this is. I mean I literally don't understand, I don't mean I disagree with it. Why would the Creator design a world with the fundamental flaw that you can only continue to live if you declare yourself apart from other maybe weaker creatures then kill and eat them? Continuous endless war is baked in no matter how we think or say we really want peace.
This just hit me one day, well OK it was when coming down from acid. I made the decision that as an apex predator I had the luxury of saying no more having animals killed for me then eating them. Of course there was a shitstorm from my so-called friends who called me unnatural and a soyboy whatever, but that was over 40 years ago and it's still working fine for me.
I believe there’s many things about life on earth we aren’t meant to understand. That’s very hard for me, I probably started asking questions as soon as I could make a sentence. My dad used to say my middle names were but & why😆 I’m from the south & hunting is part of life around my area. My husband & daughter hunt deer and it doesn’t go to waste. We know where the food comes from! (Someone please correct me if I’m wrong). I don’t believe the world was created for humans to eat meat & seafood. Also in the Garden of Eden I think the animals coexisted with each other. As it will be after the return of Christ & in heaven. When Eve ate the apple satan was involved and that changed the world to what we know today. Scripture explains all this. I’m a Christian, yet I don’t know the Bible good enough to find the correlating scriptures. I might have a lot of faults but faith isn’t one of them. Before I knew Christ was my savior I always felt like I was protected by a higher power. (Long story, lotion of family trauma, verbal abuse & family disfunction, as a child & I felt protected.) I understand questioning things! I understand if someone doesn’t believe as I do. That’s my explanation from my beliefs, raised in church and being taught about God & the Bible.
Oh, it did start to go AT them but, chose to back off and fly away. I don't think people evan realize how big those Bald Eagles are.. they be huge.. and the owl was big as well, was over today and they said the each wing span was almost as long as her arm. She said it was a barn owl but, as big as she said it was, sounded more like a great horned or a short ear.. they both in the area as well.
Owls are cool birds, but f the satanic symbology…..
It's actually not, owls are huge in mythological history but rather than understand that which admittedly takes huge amounts of research people are just like "looks spooky to me" and write them off as satanic icons.
Owls represent wisdom or superior knowledge. Don't get me wrong evil people following the (literally) sinister path make full use of that symbology but it's not owls in themselves which are bad news.
Or, it was just a Bald Eagle hunting an Owl. LOL.
Wrong. Research ballistic animal frequencies and how it affects birds. 5G is much more than you realize. They have been lying to you, wake up.
Yeah, one of the reasons Trump was all about shutting down the 5g towers coming out of China. China failed to apply the necessary magnets when making their towers that neutralizes much of the threat those towers can be to everything. (and they wonder why the bird population around the world is getting funky, read reports on bird species suddenly collapsing/vanishing out there, I am betting it is the 5g that is killing them off.) Am glad to see mobs of people around the world ripping them down out there. What I am saying though, Eagles and Owls are predators that prey on the same things so it makes them natural enemies however bizzarro it is to actually see them fighting since one is usually day and the other night, it does happen even with out disruption from outside source. heh.
