I recently moved to Texas from Washington state. While i still lived in WA during the Great TP Shortage of 2020, I noticed several products were out but i never saw the empty shelves that people were filming and posting online. Most often i saw certain name brands disappear then reappear a few days later. I now live in a small town near Dallas and while I saw the baby formula shortage, it now seems restocked everywhere I go.
I don't doubt that we are having supply chain issues and people are witnessing the bare shelves. Then there are the reports of all of the food processing plants and farms being attacked.
Why do stores, at least all of the ones that i have been to, seem to be well stocked? I'm not complaining, but shouldn't we be experiencing food riots by now? This make no sense to me, unless...
Are patriots really in control? Are THEY systematically attacking food facilities that have been putting bad stuff in our food? Then resuming business as usual? It occurs to me that the areas most hardest hit by the food shortages and gas price inflation are deep blue cities in deep blue states.
Has anyone else seen this? Or have i just been fortunate enough to go after stores have been restocked? Tell me im not the only one. What is going on?

The shelves are the last place you will see it. It starts with supply chain issues. Once people realize what is going on they will start to hoard food and supplies. Shelves will go bare real fast.
Also, if the govt wanted to 'justify' inflated prices but keep the revolts down, one would jack up prices but be careful not to be 'without' goods, to keep a lid on the public's reaction. (Although, I don't know how you would protest food shortages ... it's there, or it's not. Maybe supply chain protests - idk.)
Hyperinflation is coming. They are trying to hide it. Something like 60% of the dollars in existence have been printed in the last 2 years. This is all planned. They are trying to destroy America and are doing as much damage as possible before people notice what is going on.

Had a short conversation with the manager of a small grocery store who told me they are only getting about 40% of the items they order and that's been going on for months.

I buy most of my groceries at Aldi. Went there two days ago and there was plenty of beef and chicken, and most of the things I normally buy. The prices are up considerably though, and they seem not to stock as many non perishables anymore. Couldn't get paper plates, aluminum foil or freezer bags. Just not there. Very strange.
Stores and wholesale stores (where restaurants buy) are well stocked for the most part. There are occasional items that will be out for a week or so but it’s normally available before long.
In deep blue territory and also county (silicon valley in northern california). There is no shortage of food here, but inflation has become terrible here. Number of RVs parked on certain streets are growing as the number of people unable to pay rent increases. I also picked up a second job doing consultation just to make ends meet.

Same experience. I have been able to get every item I go shopping for, have ran into zero shortages. Sundays grocery stores do get a bit empty because everybody shops today.
Everything is just stupidly expensive.

Texas has many ports and they're actually functional. This helps minimize local supply chain issues. Additionally, there's plenty of produce coming across the Mexican border.
The shortages I have noticed are on things typically shipped from China and other Asian countries to ports in California, such as certain electronics.
Exactly! Many places barely shut down so it was work as usual. Other parts of the country, shut down completely and are having a hard time finding drivers. Another theory I read that made sense, was about vax status. Someone posted about disability claims being way up. What regions are the most vaxed? Bet there’s a correlation. I personally know of three people who were in construction type jobs, they can’t physically do the jobs anymore. I’m in NE, and I see things like reorganizing stores to make them look more full, a lot of Spanish brands that other brands used to dominate, and temporary out of stock. Sent my daughter for four things, wegmans didn’t have two… a red onion and a lime.
I live in a Red State and there are items missing from shelves and total bare shelves at times. Walmart has a way of spreading out items to fill in and make their shelves look well-stocked. Like yesterday I searched for YooHoo drinks which my 4 year old grandson loves. Couldn't find. And then I searched for some frozen Orange juice concentrate. Couldn't find. Capri Sun and Kool -Aid Jammers are also hard to find at times as well as Freeze Pops. So when I find them, I usually try to double up on these items for my grandkids sake.
Also if you don't see any shortages now, just wait until about October when world-wide famine will be the talk of the day because of the grain crises in Ukraine due to Russia.

Might be the only way. The wife and I recently started visiting a local meat market and the difference is ridiculous. Walmart meat ive never trusted. Kroger is meh. Safeway was our best bet for a long time. But after getting local sourced meat. My kids devour that stuff. Little balls of energy they is. It looks smells tastes better. Keeps better. I felt like shit a long time w/ drinking alcohol and generally f'ing off. But this meat I can drive about an hour and see my food alive and walking around before slaughter has brightened the days. Yeah it costs more, but that man and his wife are like superheroes to me now. They slaughter a cow and a pig, package and sell and then do it again. Not endless piles of shit sitting around for god knows how long in various warehouses, freezers and reefer vans. Also Skirt steak is the shit!

Drove by. Big ass sign said local meat Market. Also there's another operation selling 1/4 and 1/2 and whole cows (i wanna say 18months out, can't find the flyer) at our local farmers market. Im assuming they run outta the same town. Not much going on where I am.

I have noticed a lack of variety/selection. Shelves are generally stocked but it has become "Let's see, do I want Brand A or Brand A or shall I buy Brand A?"
In Texas we are fortunate enough to have HEB grocery stores. HEB is not a public company and they go out of their way to shop as local as they can. I truly believe we are very fortunate in this regard because I believe it is the big box stores that are ultimately owned by big corporations where the shortages are showing up.

I've also been stocking up on staples when they go on closeout.
As an example, I snagged some extra virgin olive oil in tiny 16.9 fl. oz. bottles for only $2.24 each. They don't expire until June 2023.
When Passover ended, I grabbed several boxes of Kosher salt marked down for less than $1.00 each. Salt is a good thing to stock up on, especially at that price.
One thing I do want to figure out is how to harvest water if the grid goes down. After we empty and filter our hot water tanks in an emergency, only way I know of to get water is to put some cotton cloths in my pockets and walking through fields of overgrown weeds to collect dew.
What about a rain catchment system off of your gutters. I'm looking into this now.

I grabbed one of the last bags of kitten in my local Walmart just today. I am fostering a young kitten and had to search for kitten formula in town until I found it. He is going to his forever home in a couple of weeks so I needed something to feed him until then.

You're right about this. The posts on food shortage started from multiple posts from military family members in nov-dec 2021 mentioning that generals were telling them to prep for a food shortage and to tell family members to stock up for 1-2 months worth of food.
Then there were posts from truck drivers talking about how they were transporting perishables and forced to park their truck for a week, and that the perishables spoilt by the time they arrived at their destination. Then there's these news stories of food processing plants blowing up or shutting down.
Then there was farmers reporting on fertilizer and supply shortage (nitrogen or ammonia?) which Russia was the major supplier for.
Then there was news about trains being restricted from transporting fertilizer resulting in fertilizer shortage for farmers.
Then there was the baby food shortage, the peanut butter recall... and now we are hearing about inflation. Some UN committee talking about food shortage being inevitable and I think there was an interview with Goya's CEO who said that a food shortage was coming
To add, my wife told me in her religion, there was a prophet who said (this was 20 years ago) that there would be an event that would happen resulting in 49 days of no food.. as a result, all of the temples in her religion hold a store of food for at least 49 days, and they've been doing this for 20 years.

Lol. Yea, it's a bit expensive now to hoarde food because of inflation. The only ways I can think of to store food safely (without waste) is either planting a garden, or buying rice and dried beans (or canned goods).
We did it anyway for earthquake preparedness and have at least a months worth of instant noodles. I'd be more worried about malnutrition.
No sugar free Pancake Syrup of any brand on the shelves. Dang I love my Cream Cheese pancakes… Other than that the other stuff we eat is plentiful but higher prices. Thanks to god for fishing and hunting! Tuna, Snapper, Grouper, Reds, trout, and wild hog in freezer with steady stream. Out of venison till next season
For the most part from what I have seen, grocery stores and Costco are well stocked. Not counting when there was a rush on toilet paper. Costco didn’t have any baby formula, but everything else for the most part was well stocked. If the number of poultry and processing plants destroyed is true, I suspect we will be seeing food problems by the end os summer beginning of fall. I expect astronomical heating costs for the winter-last winter my one monthly bill was $500 fora 3 bedroom ranch with a partial basement. So God only knows what they will be. One year we lost power for 4 days d/t ice and snow. Since then we got a generator and changed our wood burning fireplace to gas. Of course none of that helps if they cut the power entirely and you have zero natural gas flow or water. Most wells have electric pumps so you automatically lose your water too.
High fuel prices have caused some transportation companies not to be delivering anymore.

I live in SC. My wife uses online ordering for several stores such as Walmart and Sam's Club. Pretty much the same list of products from the same stores every week. She has been shopping this way for several years now. Never had a problem before. For a couple of months now products have become more and more unavailable. She told me last night that 40% of the regular products she orders every week are not available. The prices on products that are available have gone up between 30% and 100%.
I thought the same thing when menthol vaping oil and cigarettes were suddenly bad and the government shut them down temporarily. Were they taking them off the market due to contamination?

During the TP shortage I took pics of entire meat aisles being empty. So there was a food run as well, but only on fresh stuff, wheat, yeast, pasta, ramen, soup, and stuff like that
