Maybe a new house where each county is represented by one person. Add one more balancing body to offset the Senate and House. It would be the true people's house. 3.1K people representing the interests of the people in their county.

This is why there is a movement underway to split California by population. It’s called New California State. This way the large population centers don’t control the entire state. It seems to be a very good option. States have been split before. It can be done.
I also initially thought this would be good idea, but the problem with is that it will create 3 states with one big blue city in each, and thus 2 more blue states. It is the same reason they want to give DC and PR statehood.
I believe New California State leaves LA, the Bay Area, Alameda and Sacramento counties in California and all other counties in New California State. This splits the state by population, not geographically. It does not create 3 states with one big blue city each. You may be thinking of a different proposal.

Right. Focus on what unites us not what divides us. Which is monumental in itself given our present climate and culture but it can be done.

I'm from Republican upstate NY. Look at the map. None of the state has a chance besides Manhattan and the rest of NYC. It's not right......

Arizona -- that's Pima County that's blue, and that's where Tuscon/UofA is.
New Mexico -- that's Bernalillo County that's blue, which has Albuquerque (biggest city in the state).
California -- that's Los Angeles county, obviously, blue central.
