Fear is the mind killer...I learned all about plans within plans from Dune. I believe those novels.made this current situation much easier for me to understand. I will not fear, I will let it pass over and through me...only I will remain....wise words that have kept my blood pure and my mind and soul intact.
God gave us 365 'do not fear' verses in the bible. He was telling us that fear would be the devil's greatest weapon against us. I think we are wise to this now - it's be brave and rebuke the fear or crumble. I AM NOT GOING TO CRUMBLE!!
Great art often comes from a memory of the future, a prophecy. Artists both predict and create future events. This is why evil works so hard to control the art of our society. If your children are talented artists, it is doubly important to shield them from the evils of industrial schooling and to teach them the strength to not need you as a shield. Creatives are target number 1 for grooming. HOMESCHOOL.
Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.
1949+16+4+16=1985 OR, alternatively 1948 (when Israel created and Orwell started writing 1984)+16+4+16 = 1984; 1985 was cabal "target date", and I suspect it was 1-1-85 as the actual target date in order to have 4 years to get things ready for 1989 NWO kickoff. Cabal has been using a 16/4/16 operational plan cycle in the United States since at least 1889; The book "1984" was likely a documented plan updated for America, and appears to be what was used against Russia and Spain.
1949-4 = 1945, End WW2
1945-16 = 1929, intentional crash of economy to setup for 1933 RESET
1929-4 = 1925, setup for 1929; look at financial regulation changes, etc.
1925-16 = 1909, initiation of Federal Reserve legislative groundwork
1909-4 = 1905, initial moves made to setup WW1 and gold setup for FR
1905-16 = 1889, completion of removal of silver standard that started 1883
If you change "spice" to "oil" and then try to figure out who is being represented by the different political factions, it makes it a bit more interesting.
I know. I've only heard positive things about the books and why they don't translate well to movies (and that much I get, so much internal thought processes that the only real solution would be excessive narration).
Keep in mind, I'm saying it's a good story that's talked about like it's great... like a 7/10 instead of a 9-10/10.
What it ultimately comes down to is that people talk about it as science fiction, where it's much better described as a fantasy story set in a futuristic civilization. The big one I mentioned already was that the interstellar civilization only survives because of spice, spice can only be obtained on Arakis, but they can't get to it without the spice, which itself doesn't hurt the plot, but it's small details that I hesitate to try and cite specifics because, as a fantasy, the 'rules' are generally more flexible.
Also, the way they are treated as a series, but aside from the first two the stories are really only connected in the sense that they are set in the same 'universe'. I should have stopped at the first book.
I guess some colleges still do their job. A few years when my daughter was a sophomore in college she said “I’m learning how to learn”. This made me happy. I think I had told her something to that effect in the past.
Smaller "less prestigious" colleges often still teach people how to learn. I just finished university a smaller place, I learned a lot about learning from certain excellent professors. It was easy to sniff out the rats.
I must have read the Dune series cover to cover half a dozen times, and every time that I do - I discover something new and thought provoking that is usually something that translates to the world around us.
In the 4th book Leto talks about the restrictions on movements in his empire, getting around involves walking and how that is a key component of the oppression and control that his Golden Path is providing. Leto seems to be saying that the 4000 years of his tyranny is essential to program freedom mindedness into humanity at a genetic level, so that the species never again is inclined to let itself stagnate under control.
Then I look around at the incredible efforts made to crush freedom of movement (lockdowns, the EV lie, public transport (which really is limiting movement to where the cabal allows) etc) and I see terrifying parallels with Leto's restrictions on movements and how it is a key part of Empire.
The sexual thralldom used by the Honored Matres is like the Covid hysteria, it is a powerful force for ruling while it lasts - but when the hysterical hold is broken it will rebound violently on those who used it.
So much wisdom from one man - he was never really honoured properly for his amazing mind.
It covered the coming middle-east conflict (this was in 60s), the power of drugs (some say AC) in controlling people (spice represents drugs/AC), the Sardaukars represent the storm-trooper like one world army to bring the whole world under one government, and tons of references to the Occult.
There are interesting anecdotes about Frank Herbert. There were stories about how he got the entire story from some extra terrestrial beings. Others claim he was an insider with the right bloodline, hence got this pre-programming info.
I believe it is an allegory about the petrodollar and the "battles" over the control of oil prior to 1971-1972 creation of the petrodollar. I did not understand the "bloodline" stuff until exposed to the cabal family bloodline stuff.
Yes, I have heard that spice represents the oil and the creation of petrodollar. Makes sense considering oil is the big output from the middle east. But then opium was also a big output from there, and the whole drug economy started around the same time.
Who knows, its probably one of those perfect allegories that can represent two different things in real life.
I believe the deep meaning of Dune per the spice = oil reference is how the supply is being controlled. There is some evidence that oil is naturally renewing (I don't know the rate of renewal) which would mean the price would rapidly approach nearly zero (or cost of extraction) without all the oil cartels and cabal control. This appears to be shown in 'Dune' by the Spice Guild that tightly controls the supply and only allows small amounts onto the market to keep the price high.
Dinosaurs being linked to oil appears to be cabal code used in the 19th century to disclose discoveries. Overlay all the reported "dinosaur bone" discoveries with oil wells from 1830-1900, and you might find something interesting. Note the Sinclair Oil Company using a big dinosaur as their "mascot". Looks like yet another deception by the cabal in order to keep low cost energy from the "slaves".
Humans have been digging in the ground for thousands of years and only discovered Dinosaur bones in the 1840s?!? This happened to be around the same time that cabal started pushing Evolution. I don't believe either.
And one of the big discoveries - T-Rex - was by a guy called Barnum, literally named after the circus showman Barnum. Symbolism will be their downfall.
Watch what the Smithsonian promotes. This is how you know. Anything the Smithsonian promotes is cabal narrative and likely completely false, fabricated reality (now and then with some tiny kernal of distorted truth). Very possible that the dinosaurs were invented to cover up Giant Hominid bones or something else, but then took on a life of their own. Clearly Smithsonian was heavily involved in expeditions, recreations for museums, and promotions of the "Dinosaur Narrative". They are the NASA of natural history, and have lied about everything, IMO.
There are several proposals in the works. There may be an actual DRAFT bill put together by Patriots in the House of Rep. Here is an article on it: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jan/28/americans-need-a-digital-bill-of-rights-heres-why; Pretty clear that this is the direction things are headed. I added the "death penalty" myself because I believe a strong deterrent needs to be included. Just my opinion, though.
It is also called the "Internet Bill of Rights" which I believe is similar. Here is one example: https://www.rokhanna.com/issues/internet-bill-rights; It would be very interesting indeed if it was the Dems that actually proposed and implemented it prior to the new Congress in January 2023.
I see. What I am talking about with reference to Dune however is very different. Outright bans on under the skin tech, sentient AI or any humanoid robot, and as a corollary ban on human genetic modification.
All good stuff. Right now you can setup an LLC, make sure you have a permanent controlling stake at 51%, and then assign all of your IP and personal info and data to it, including genetic info. Then sue the crap out of everyone (via this weaponized LLC) for using your bio info without your permission for royalty and licensing fees. $1B per month seems like good rate.
You can flip the tables by copying their terms of service, inserting your $1B/month “licensing fee”, and then claim that they automatically agreed to the terms by using your data. You can even insert automatic arbitration clause, and just force them to go to arbitration for settlement without going to court.
I'm sorry, I recently read those books because the new movie was coming out, and I remembered the older film as being weird, so check the source material.
There are a few pretty cool ideas in there, particularly dealing with people's internal dialog in political and strategic thinking in tense situations. (Aspects of why it would be difficult or impossible to catch in a video form, without extensive narration) the only other element that was well done was to add the notes to put into perspective the individuals into a historical perspective.
Maybe just my opinion, but that series is one of the most heavily overrated pieces of fiction in a long time. It was very clear that the author borrowed much from Bedouin culture.
The most significant plot hole in the entirety is the spice. The spice is needed for interstellar travel, it can only be found on Arakis (originally), a location which they would have needed the spice to get to in order to acquire the space travel tech to reach the planet.
A) nothing, per se. For comparison, the book, "The Mote in God's Eye," there was a similar embracing of Islamic cultures, but kept people and groups distinct. Where the comparison might be a future where Islam had first taken over.
B) that's an interesting perspective, if anything the overall seemed more about the power of the mind over the impulsive desires of the body. Except in the framework of a variation on the heroes journey.
Spice = oil, I would have framed differently, but can't disagree.
It might be overrated, there are definitely better scifi novels out there, but it's pretty great, and it has a lot of interesting political theory in it.
There is also the philosophical elements that I find quite interesting, especially the stoic teachings which are quite pronounced in contrast to the anti-stoic stories told these days.
Fear is the mind killer...I learned all about plans within plans from Dune. I believe those novels.made this current situation much easier for me to understand. I will not fear, I will let it pass over and through me...only I will remain....wise words that have kept my blood pure and my mind and soul intact.
I read once, somewhere, that "fear" was a acronym that stood for "false evidence appearing real".
Never can we make wise decision from false evidence.

God gave us 365 'do not fear' verses in the bible. He was telling us that fear would be the devil's greatest weapon against us. I think we are wise to this now - it's be brave and rebuke the fear or crumble. I AM NOT GOING TO CRUMBLE!!
One for each day? That is awesome!
Along with 31 chapters of proverbs, one for each day of the month, this could be an effective reading plan.
Wisdom and courage
I tell people that all the time! Great minds think alike and learn the Bible. 👍
Dune: Fear & Pain [1984] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A54yfyi00dI
Ah yes the gom jabar...mind over matter and sensory perceptions. I, too, see the logic.
Near the end of Dune there are multiple passages that match current events. History doesn't necessarily repeat but it often rhymes.
Rhymes with fiction too :)
Playbook known. This game is as old as empire.

I am not too sure about this book being relevant to today, but I do know there are Bene Genesserit witches in power.
More like Bene Genesserit whores…
Honored Matres
You mispelled Hillary Clinton...just saying
I literally just read Dune and suggest everyone else here too.
Highly recommend it. It is politically and conversationally heavy in the first 20% or so but it holds up so well.
And the movie is actually very very close to the book too (at least the new one).
Really enjoyed the Books. I thought the William Hurt movie several years ago was a good effort.
The one in 2000? Yeah that was good. The 1980s one was shit lol.
I don’t like the new movie.
Something special about watching the 1984 original movie that is clearly intended to be "in the face" of the cabal.
1984 you say??
1949+16+4+16=1985 OR, alternatively 1948 (when Israel created and Orwell started writing 1984)+16+4+16 = 1984; 1985 was cabal "target date", and I suspect it was 1-1-85 as the actual target date in order to have 4 years to get things ready for 1989 NWO kickoff. The political intrigue and internal monologs are the only good parts of the books.
The overall story is good, but only if you don't really scrutinize much of any of it.
If you change "spice" to "oil" and then try to figure out who is being represented by the different political factions, it makes it a bit more interesting.
No one should ever be afraid to field an opinion that goes against the wind,
I know. I've only heard positive things about the books and why they don't translate well to movies (and that much I get, so much internal thought processes that the only real solution would be excessive narration).

The first and third books are excellent. They make a complete story. If you liked the first one, by all means pick up the third one.
George Lucas said that Dune had an influence on the original Star Wars, and I can see that.

Very good series of books. Everyone here is correct, a very good read that explains about governmental politics in an accessible way.
Very applicable to today's environment. It doesn't explain what is going on, it teaches you HOW to understand what is going on.
When college was still legit, that is what it did. It TAUGHT people HOW to learn, how to understand.

The dune audiobooks are top notch
Dune is an amazing "pre-programming"

We will also need a pre-emptive butlerian jihad. Banning neural implants would be a good start.
Don't forget the Digital Bill of Rights with death penalty for violation.
Haven't heard of this. Where can I find out about it? And someone downvoted me?

And yet I bet the real point of Dune went over everyone in this comment thread's heads. 😂
Maybe. I think we need an Anon Theatre post for Dune to cover some of its depth. Feel free to use my Anon Theatre posts as a template

I didn't hate the books (the first one was best and by a margin), more if it was tagged as science fantasy, it might have been easier.
And yes, the political intrigue, and the concept of "plans within plans" represents most of the best aspects.
There is also the philosophical elements that I find quite interesting, especially the stoic teachings which are quite pronounced in contrast to the anti-stoic stories told these days.
Agreed, the philosophy of mind over the bodies impulses was a strong theme, and the way it was implemented was done quite well in the first book.
Welcome to Hollywood! First time?
