Ok, this is anecdotal, but my wife is a G.I. Nurse (Gastro Interology).
She has seen multiple cases of otherwise healthy young people (low to mid 20’s) who have had their intestines lose blood flow and become necrotic, some requiring bowel resections and some requiring LIFE-LONG colostomy bags.
Why?
Because the nicotine dosage levels in the vape can be much higher than cigarettes. And capers tend to hit them very frequently.
Nicotine is a vaso-restrictor (it cuts down veinous blood-flow).
Your sensitive and finely veined intestines require good blood flow to remain healthy. Frequent high-dosing vapers can literally rot their guts from the inside.
This isn’t meant to doom and gloom anyone, but this particular risk almost entirely unknown or reported outside the GI world.
She’s the nurse…I bet she can’t spell fuselage or ailerons (my trade). So I accept the criticism.
I suppose G.I.. stands for Gastro Intestinal anyway, but critique duly given and received.
I am vaping instead of smoking as well, feel much better. I do believe it's a much better alternative to smoking. That said, the best thing would be quitting altogether. I am not saying it's completely safe, probably there might be effects, but no real long term studies exist yet according to my knowledge. If you have quality gear and buy juice from reputable sources, you can minimize the kinds of risks the media is pushing.
Oh, and the vape does not damage things, neither does it leave a bad odor. The only thing I noticed was a little bit of grease on my windshield after months of use (where the AC is blowing I think)
I also quit smoking and started vaping. Don't wake up anymore coughing up a lung and feel much better. Not sure exactly how it effect my health but my body tells me they aren't as bad as cigs.
Ex smoker of 20 years and vape is the only reason I was able to quit the smokes. Nicotine is not cancer causing and actually has some known benefits. All the other crap in the smokes are what cause the lung and mouth issues. I have been on the vape for 8 years and never felt better. This is not my opinion. This came from my family doctor.
There is something that was losely tied to vaping a while back called popcorn lung. I dont know that its real or if the affects are even long lasting but I dont seem to have had long term damage from vaping. You vape indoors enough you will start to get residue on things. TVs become a pain to clean.
Also to note, niccotine does not cause cancer. But it does start blocking your arteries ability to lubricate. And you still have the constant up and downs of using niccotine.
FWIW, I smoked 20 years or so, switched to vaping and did that on 24mg(i know) for about 4 years then switched to 0mg for 6 mos and quit.
Transition from smokes to vape was hellish for 2 weeks. The changes to your body from smoking combined with the vape is not a good mix.
better than pre-rolled boxed cigarettes but still not good. I wish I never started but I did because it does help protect me against vaxxed shedding their spikes on me.
Vaping to stop breathing in smoke is an improvement....enticing young kids to start a bad habit ...vaping... is just as bad as cigarette manufacturers and Joe Camel.
When I see people who never smoked, start vaping....I just wonder...why?
I vape for nearly ten years, no issues whatsoever. I don't throw huge clouds, my vape is more mimicking a cigarette. Been a strong smoker for about 25ys.
I have to say I don't vape any artificial flavors, just some base, nicotine and a hint of selfmade menthol liquid.
Shit, I smoke cigarettes to quit vaping. I vaped for years, puffing and huffing at least three times as often- I had way higher concentrations of nicotine in my blood stream as well. The only time I wasn’t vaping was when I was charging my box.
I quit before, and I did it by switching over to cigarettes. Was a pack every three days down to a pack a week, if au can get it down to a pack a every ten days then I don’t need to smoke at all.
Way, way, way easier to quit smoking cigarettes for me than quitting vaping because I have to sit outside (it’s hot), my fingers and clothes stink (which I don’t really like) the same with my breath and teeth.
So yeah, I move to cigarettes to quit just because I find it easier to quit cigs versus the various fruity and cakey juices.
Worse than anyone yet understands. Go back to twigs, but order organic tobacco and roll/stuff your own. Store bough smokes are poison, except for Spirits.
The radioactive substance -- which the UCLA study shows was first brought to the attention of the tobacco industry in 1959 -- was identified in 1964 as the isotope polonium-210, which emits carcinogenic alpha radiation. Polonium-210 can be found in all commercially available domestic and foreign cigarette brands, Karagueuzian said, and is absorbed by tobacco leaves through naturally occurring radon gas in the atmosphere and through high-phosphate chemical fertilizers used by tobacco growers. The substance is eventually inhaled by smokers into the lungs.
Vaping is much better for you than smoking. Vapes are probably the best smoking cessation device ever made. Which is why Big Tobacco and Big Pharma are coming out so strongly against vaping. My father smoked two packs a day for twenty years and basically quit cigarettes cold-turkey for vaping. I smoked cigarettes for 7 years and quit in favor of vaping 3 years ago. I generally feel better and don’t have a cough anymore.
Put some tissue in a cup , take a puff on a cigarette and blow the cigarette smoke into that cup with the tissue. The cigarette smoke will turn the tissue a harsh black color. Now try that with vapors from an eCig. Nothing. When a building catches fire, one of the big risks is smoke inhalation, which is very deadly and will kill you quickly. Well, I’ve never heard of anyone dying from inhaling too much water vapor in a confined space.
The ingredients in eJuice are food-grade and edible. And it’s common sense that vapor is more healthy than smoke. Another form of vaping is dry-herb vaping. This is especially popular with marijuana, where the herb is ground up and placed into a tiny convection oven that heats the herb just enough to cause it to vaporize, but without the smoke and combustion, and without all the tar and carcinogens. The process basically extracts the THC into a vapor that can be inhaled to achieve a high similar to smoking. Dry herb vaping is a million times healthier than smoking, and nobody even disputes it, but it’s not super popular among stoners and is more known about among medicinal marijuana patients. Granted, dry herb vaping is a bit different to vaping eJuice, so that was just an off-topic aside.
The propaganda against vapes and the eCigs largely boil down to things like “heavy metals” and “popcorn lung”. The popcorn lung thing has largely been debunked, and the cases of “heavy metal poisoning” and so forth have a strong correlation to black market vape carts, cheap disposable eCigs, sketchy product from China like cheap coils, etc etc. If you buy yourself a decent box mod, and buy eJuice from reputable vendors you should more or less be fine.
Not vaping at all is probably better than either vaping or smoking , but to suggest that vaping is just as bad as smoking is a big fat lie. They’re not even comparable. Plus, you can even use vaping to wean off your nicotine addiction altogether. You can start with 18% nicotine juice, drop down to 12%, then 6%, then 3%, then 0…
That's what I did with the stinkies, 30-50/day (week/weekend). I wish I had saved some of the brown shit exiting my lungs every morning in a petri dish. Funny enough: I rode mountainbike while smoking, not a top athlete, but not too bad. Well, things changed. Now I vape and do strength training with compound lifts. Squat heavy or go home. Vaping is not bad for you, the media makes it look bad.
I used a refillable unit to wean me off a 40 yr long, 2 pack a day habit. Just added less nicotine to each fill up. It was still tough but God helped me put it down. The long term effects of vaping are yet to be seen IMO. Whether harmful or not keep it mind that nicotine is more ADDICTive than sugar and that's what the juice is. Sweetened nicotine. You do not need it to live a happy life. And we don't want to support legal drug cartels either. You vill be an ADDICT, and you vill own nothing, And you vill be unhappy.
I found it helpful for a couple years and was down to 0 nicotine, but the vaper died and was not made anymore, and I have not been able to find a suitable one again. Problems: leaking the fluid all over, the liquid gets a burned taste (even changing the burner) etc. etc. Cigarettes however work every time . . .
I am disgusted . . . vapers are made in China and not as user friendly as was the case when I first vaped. I thought the US would make a better alternative!
Tried everything to quit smoking. 5 years ago I did loads of research regarding vaping. Disposables had a much higher level of nic than I wanted. I got a device and began with 12 mg of nic and 4 months later I was down to 6 mg of nic. The week I started vaping was the last time I smoked a cig and was surprised that I vaped less than I smoked. VG and PG is in so many products we all use daily.
I have been vaping for over 10 years, my lungs just could not take the smoke, and I did not smoke a lot, but I was never able to stay quit. At my age, I have to be aware that I can breathe better, but nicotine is a vascular constrictor, it makes it harder to pump the blood to get the oxygen that you need, so, for seniors as myself, I really do have to use it only when I need that "hit" of dopamine the nicotine gives me. It is not cheap, and it is not non addictive, but, you will breathe a lot better, tobacco has all sorts of carcinogens especially if you smoke brand names or cheaper. American Spirit is a little better, as it is not filled with herbicides and pesticides
I've been using a vape for a while. I occasionally have a cigarette whenever I drink which has always kept a hook in me.
If I stay off the drink I can lower my nicotine of my vape and get to 0mg liquid and then I stop using my vape so often and eventually stop using anything. If you use it to wean yourself off it is obviously a better option.
What started me on the vapes was a video like this one
You can do it show the same effect yourself, have a drag on a cigarette and then cover your mouth with some toilet paper and blow through it and see the resin that stains it.
Cigarettes have 70+ different dangerous chemicals in them that cause cancer, I feel a whole better with the vape. The more addictive part of vape is the tasty flavourings that is like having a candy that might tempt you to smoke it more

Well, right off the bat you use the terms "Gastro Interolgy". Shouldn't you know it is Gastroenterology?? Flush.
She’s the nurse…I bet she can’t spell fuselage or ailerons (my trade). So I accept the criticism. I suppose G.I.. stands for Gastro Intestinal anyway, but critique duly given and received.
Wow, we have capers growing in the garden and this morning my wife said that she was planning to get rid of them but they are very prickly.
Anyway, read this:

I’m leaving my comment unedited so everyone can judge me.😉
You try typing vapers and see what happens.

i swear there was so much anti-vaping propaganda going around because they dont kill us like cigs do

so you started vaping and you never smoked before?
i have rolled my own cigarettes from time to time but never got hooked until the vape
Thanks you guys. Love ya ❤️❤️

I quit 26 years of smoking by vaping in 2 years. As a means to quit, it works. https://casaa.org
Just chiming in too. Vaping help me kick smoking. Quit vaping a year ago. Would recommend as a way to quit.

Keep an eye on gums bleeding. The vaping liquid contains propylene glycol which can cause cancer as well.
Holy fuck, it shouldn't contain anything but glycerin and nicotine! FFS don't inhale propylene glycol (antifreeze)!
