But its still fake, phoney and false. The spirit of generosity and goodwill should be for every day of the year, not just when you put up fairy lights and tinsel.
I get what you are saying but many of us remember our own feelings when we were young. Finding out there was no Santa and that my parents loved me so much they wanted to give me a wonderful over the top time of year, to give and get absolutely no recognition for the giving, so much so that they stayed up into all hours building bicycles and the like, is not exactly the same as finding out 9/11 was almost certainly an inside job. Not saying some people had a different reaction to being "lied to," but that was mine.
I believed in Santa too my friend. As long as you teach the children the 'TRUE' meaning of Christmas and the 'Reason for the Season' I see nothing wrong with adding the story of St. Nick aka Santa in there as well. There really was a St. Nick also. Once children get older, they tend to find out from their friends or older siblings anyway. Look at us; we didn't turn out to be a mass murderer because of it did we? I see no harm in it. God bless.
I agree, Bass. I LOVED Santa when I was a kid and it didn’t break my heart to find out he wasn’t “real”. When it was time to break the news, my parents explained it as Santa being the spirit of love and giving without looking for recognition. We never “saw” him, didn’t know him, but all year long he and his elves gave of their time and talent to bring a little joy to people around the world each Christmas. It was used as a lesson to give and love selflessly.
Kids were told about Santa since the 4th century. I think bad parenting is more to blame than a fairy tale that teaches them about the spirit of GIVING.
We don't need to do anything but love our children. Fairy tales have been used forever to teach children about complex subjects. Telling people how to teach their children and what to believe in is divisive.
That is the bottom line. Many of the holidays we celebrate are based on pagan holidays that are then sold as "the birth of Christ" or "the resurrection of Christ" or "love" or "trick or treat" and we have been tricked into celebrating these holidays on days special to pagan worship or in ways that highlight pagan gods or objects. Most people won't take the time to do the research and then it is difficult to stop doing something that is so mainstream and integrated into our society and culture. Evil is very good at lying and deceiving us. We have been lied to about EVERYTHING. The truth about everything is out there but some people "can't handle the truth".
Edit...the birth of Christ and His death, burial and resurrection are important to celebrate and very important to Christianity but they have been hijacked by Satan for his own evil purposes.
Sadly true; many want The Truth but not when it comes to things they consider innocent fun. Either something is fake / tainted or its not: the Bible says "come out from among them, touch not the unclean thing" but that just elicits a "Chill out" response. Sad. Pray for people's eyes to be opened, all you can do.
Nope. Stop making children face adulthood too soon. Fairytales and stories create imagination, imagination creates dreamers. Dreams can become reality. This is a forum of people who think outside of the “reality” we’re told, even if we get disappointed. Goodness and magic always wins. I still believe in Santa. Prove me wrong.
Or rob them of childhood? I’m not scarred bc
a prince didn’t save me from an evil witch… guess what, the magic of Christmas is still in my heart. Do you not read storybooks to your children? 12 lil monkeys jumping on a bed… teach them to fall down, get back up, and laugh.
Spend a few hours in the ocean with a half dozen kids, teach them how to read the waves. Listen to their observations of how a cloud looks like Winnie the Pooh playing a flute, call Ariel and Ursula to come out and play… but most of all, listen and soak in the giggles and simple joys of those babies having a new adventure. Being children enjoying childhood.
Or just teach them that it’s a big bad lie created by globalists. Get real. The cloud isn’t Winnie the Pooh? No such thing as a mermaid? Monkey died when he fell off the bed? There’s a small window to teach hope, love, and light before the real world hits them. They’ll face the world wondering why others have magic in their eyes.
Santa seems like a ploy to help sheer the connection between parents and children. Gives them the idea that there is this other entity that will give them more than their parents do for free if they obey but they don't have to obey their parents coz parents are socialised into even if they bad kids they get presents. I reckon parents should take it back from santa
This is a great idea that should be applied elsewhere! Let’s get rid of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, etc., and stick to teaching unveiled Biblical truths. Also, let’s apply “magic is bad” to Christian literature and film too.
If the god of materialism can't dress up like a mushroom, re-arrange a few letters in his name and spread it around as 'cheer' to replace my arch nemesis, who can? __ Satan aka 'Nick'
Its interesting. Most of you know my position on Christianity, thus garnering myself a reputation for being a dick. I'm not trying to be but i I feel like a parent trying to show my kid that something ain't right because I've been on that side of the fence. If it wasn't for God, I'd still be in the beast system.
My point is that we have gods in our lives, which the Lord will not tolerate. You have to ask yourself some questions:
Where, in the Bible, did the Lord call for a celebration of His birth?
Is there anywhere in the scriptures demonstrating a celebration of His birth from the apostles or believers in the early church?
Do you think He wants you to lie to your kids?
Just those three should have you thinking.
Passover. Feast of Tabernacles. Pentecost. Those are the ONLY ordained "feasts" that God allowed. No celebration of the birth of the AntiChrist. No celebration of Ishtar (Easter). These celebrations are deeply pagan and slapping the name of God on it is lipstick on a pig.
The newest one"elf on a shelf" parents convince their kids a psychotic Doll is fucking up crap trying to frame kid with it's actions, the parents are doing. Good way too train your kids to distrust you when they discover it's the parents.
Should we get rid of the easter bunny aswell? How about the trick or treat part of halloween? Why can't we let kids have their fun? If axe things kids like to believe then we are no better then the leftists who got rid of aunt Jemima image. It is your job as a parent to put your childs path on the proper direction. If my kids want to believebin santa, great, i will put santas name on their presents. Where i step in is when my child tells me _____.
Valid point
The SPIRIT of Christmas is real. Putting a face on it just makes it easier to explain and adds some fun and mystery. Lighten up, friend.
But its still fake, phoney and false. The spirit of generosity and goodwill should be for every day of the year, not just when you put up fairy lights and tinsel.
It is a season of celebration with a bit of fun for the kids. Chill out.
You can.
I found the truth. I hope you do as well.

Its a lot more than that:

Not in my home. ;)
So why not teach both simultaneously? Let kids continue to have Santa while also teaching the importance of generosity and goodwill year round.

Bad parenting has made generations of ungrateful, spoiled children.

I think that has a whole lot more to do with shitty parents than it does Santa Claus or the belief in him.
Agreed. Xmas is a pagan holiday, I stopped celebrating it years ago, never looked back.

Christ was born in September as it falls in our calendar.

I think making santa the face of Jesus's birthday is denying Jesus's name is it not?
In what context do you believe in Santa?
In what context don’t you?
Not playing that game. Have a good one

We should get rid of "Santa" altogether, Christmas should be about lord Jesus and nothing else.
Blessed be that Name is what we should be teaching our children.

Better yet....research the origins of Christian holidays most of us celebrate and compare them side by side with what your Bible says.
You can't spell Santa without Satan.

Yuletide... pretty much a winter celebration to keep you from killing yourself during the darkest part of the year...

Pervs call what they do fun as well. A lie is a lie, simples.
Since we wear tinfoil hats and believe in aliens, kind of weird Santa is off the table?
