Firstly, why the fuck are you trying to spend money in Starbucks anyway
Secondly, there'll be no lawsuits, no violation, no legal tender issues. A counter transaction is not a debt. Businesses are not in any way required to accept cash for a transaction. If they offer you a line of credit that's a different story.
Thirdly, the "will of the people" can be expressed by simply not going to fucking Starbucks. See #1.
Damn right on #1. Had someone reply to me recently "they couldn't get rid of nickelodian or disney channel because it was part of a package" - what a forehead slapper that was.
Also, has netflix EVER accepted cash? or amazon? or Steam?, your #2 is spot on.
Voting with your wallet is a very effective expression of the "will of the people" and I live my life by #3 as best I can,
Now, how do we break "the will of the sheeple"? Give us a #4!
I have a small no-frills, no timer $20 drip coffee maker designed by Philips (Probably manufactured in China) that someone pretty much handed down to me. It’s been working fine for seven years. It doesn’t require a paper filter because it uses a very strong fine plastic mesh that I have cleaned and reused hundreds of times . I should probably replace it with a metal mesh filter which would be even more durable.
Because it uses a mesh rather than paper, it allows the coffee’s oils to pass through unlike most paper filters. I do like using espresso one cup machines, but I highly recommend a reusable filter type type of coffee maker as it makes more than one cup at a time without the need for purchasing anything extra except for coffee and water.
A great thing about this type of coffee maker is if the electricity goes out I can still use this coffee maker by simply pouring hot water into a full coffee filter and letting it drip through. Hopefully when the shit hits the fan, my gas stove will still work or else I will have to build a camp fire.
You can actually deny payment in cash upfront, but if a service is already rendered and there is a debt then they have to accept cash. Maybe you should chill the fuck out instead of being a giant faggot. "Pray tell kind sir" LOL get the fuck out of here with your backhanded faggotry.
There’s no such thing as contactless payment using (in public) a credit or debit card. My debit card has touch capability & I still have to enter a PIN number on the card swiper.
Even using phone to pay in apps, sometimes the employees will hold your phone.
Fair enough, but the title of the post is taken verbatim from CognitiveCarbon and there is no link or credit given to either his original post or the PW post.
The point is that the words were plagiarized. That they may have been plagiarized from another plagiarizer doesn't really fix anything.
I appreciate that you are enthusiastic about getting news out, but I would hope that this community would do so in a way that respects and acknowledges the ideas and work of others - especially the ones that are working with us.
Well. You're talking to a meme lord whose memes are stolen all the time but. You're right.. That's different. I don't mind giving credit where credit is due!
Easy solution. Starbucks is in every grocery store , mall, gas station, whatever. Go. Order 4 mocha joka skinny frap snowbunnies with Carmel whip venti cold. Sit there while they spend 10 minutes making them and then go oh I only have cash no card, SORRRRYYYYYYYYYYY. OK BYEEEEEEEEEEE
Work just did this for cafeteria. The coin business and machines were removed. Only a kiosk now. Must have account and badge to purchase goods. I wonder how long till the prices spike. They are selling items cheap. Sweetener to hook them, then raise the prices. Most of my coworkers are normies they don't express thought until it's a herd accepted thought deemed safe. It took forever to get masks removed. Don't get me started.
The New World Order, who practices genocide, telling us exactly who they own. Why would you buy such terribly priced stale coffee that may be served up with mRNA spiked proteins?
So if I get a haircut and try to pay with cash and they are "cashless" what happens? Is that considered a debt then? Same with a restaurant where you eat then pay?
Failure to pay as agreed- and if they have visible signage indicating that they are cashless then you are considered to have agreed by placing an order- is a breach of contract and they have a claim for damages, which is different from a debt.

That is hilarious, are you a lawyer by trade?
It'd be great if he was... because he is 100% factual.
Your feelings do not counter FACTS. Quit being female.
I have to laugh at people who bitch about gas prices (as they have a right to) but think nothing of spending approximately the same amount per gallon of gas as they do for a 20 ounce cup of Starbucks coffee.
Quick cypher shows these people are paying between $20 to $30 per gallon...and that's not even the fancy stuff.
Exactly! Starbucks fancy coffee isn’t healthy! Sugar, syrup & toxic ingredients. The only time I might buy from them is when I travel and want a tea. I always get it hot with honey. I normally take my own tea & make at hotel when I travel so they aren’t getting rich off of me.
You can get the coffee black, but then you're getting an over roasted dark coffee that may not be to your tastes.
I prefer coffee cold brewed already, because it smooths out the bitterness that heat releases. I certainly don't want overly bitter coffee that tastes only of bitter notes.
My first down vote. But expanding on my previous post....I wonder what they put in their coffee (coke? meth?) to have such a dedicated customer base willing to pay exhorbitant amounts of money for a cup of coffee.
Tesla should use this in their ad campaigns:
"For the cost of a daily cup of Starbucks coffee, you can buy a top of the line Tesla".
Most religious Starbucks customers pay through the app. It’s the only way to collect the rewards points and free items. So going cashless won’t phase them. They’ve been on the hamster wheel for a long time!
It's really convenient since eventually you earn a free coffee or can take the edge off customizations.
I'm not sure exactly what the solution is without a cultural shift. Clearly cafes need to improve their coffee game to meet the markets, but that will never resolve brand recognition or Starbucks' ability to drop prices deeply
A lot of independent coffee shops only take credit now too and even have their own app with rewards so this isn’t just Starbucks. It’s how they build a loyal customer base.
Pub near me has sign saying no cash, as does restaurant chain I like for breakfast. It's legal although I hate the fake way they say "for your protection" with a vague implication that cash is dirty. It's like you say cash is a business problem for them is the real reason.
Also I am sure that if you got them to pour drinks or bring meals then say "Oh No! Sorry I only got cash" then they would certainly take your cash.

Ehh, they accept cash in the same way Starbucks will anyway. Through prepurchase cards of credit in various increments.
Still trash though because Starbucks.
It's a bit sad that Starbucks is able to muscle out all local cafes by dropping prices and then raising them after.
People aren't addicted to coffee.. they're addicted to their sugary creamy drinks with caffeine added. May as well just be pop.
Isn’t this somehow “racist” lol
This would be a great lawsuit and the plaintiff would definitely win!!
If you’re retarded enough to still be going to Starbucks tell them you’ll pay when your coffee is ready. Put your cash on the table and take your cup.
That would work. They will void the coffee order and pocket the cash for tips. I see this done at times.
The legal tender of the United States should be GOLD and SILVER.
and bullet if they try to steal your gold and silver
Love the comment, "so what happens to the tip jar?"
Make your own coffee. Simple really.
If only there was some type of machine that could make coffee for me.
I bought a Barista Express (unfortunately made in China) on Ebay.
It has held up so far. I like it.

Fancy up some burnt beans with caramel and sugar milk. Na, ill make my own with quality single origin fair trade thank you.
Let them ... once they have lost a few million they’ll see ... actually I stopped going after finding out who they supported so no biggie ...

StarbucksStarSucks.
StarETF (no more bucks)
best reply !!!!
Haven't been to a Starbucks in years. Cut it out of my life when they touted hiring illegal aliens instead of veterans. Lousy commies.
It's in the UK
Not legal in the US
Lol... this is how lawyers make so much money.
Because most people are ignorant.
Pray tell kind sir, what law makes this illegal?
Be sure not to rush to Google and cut and paste the first thing your see...
try actually READING, and INTERPRETING what you're about to paste.
THEN... go find some ACTUAL CASE LAW that supports your position.
Until then, you're an ignorant armchair lawyer.

This is a Canadian Starbucks. Notice the verbiage - “1st October 2022”. Americans don’t write dates that way.
Also, very close friend works for Starbucks and has seen no mention of going cashless anywhere in the US.
Stay vigilant, but this appears to be for our frozen frogs in the north.
Never bought Starbucks, never will. I make perfectly good coffee at home, no need for overpriced virtue signaling coffee.
Its so the can get free publicity. Also, mostly libtards that support cashless buy 'coffee' or whatever that swill is at Starbucks anyway
they have been robbed so many times in commiefornia they are trying to cut the losses

Too bad I'm already boycotting them.
Are you also CognitiveCarbon, or are you just plagiarizing from him?
This is not the first time I have seen you do this, and it's a really bad look.
You don't mean u/catsfive, do you? GAW is a link aggregator. I found this on PW actually

Hey fag... this isn't college, settle your ass. There is no such fucking thing as plagiarism here stupid.
For fucks sake... damn you sound retarded.
Make it at home.
I bought a good espresso machine.
My kids were spending a fortune.
Paid for itself several times already.
If they don’t accept cash, they are the enemy, and you shouldn’t be spending your money there anyway. Shop small business.

There's a meme waiting to be posted...
"We're going out of business"

Well, Starbucks will be cashless. At least they realize that up front. 😂
Yeah, pretty sure you have to take cash.
You're incorrect.
You have to take cash for debts. A counter transaction is not a debt. They can simply refuse to transact.
So if I get a haircut and try to pay with cash and they are "cashless" what happens? Is that considered a debt then? Same with a restaurant where you eat then pay?

It's sugar. It's all syrup and sweets. Even IHOP is a candy store. Hurts my stomach looking at the shit they call food. Just sugar and empty calories.

Get a good thermos and you can have warm coffee for at least 4 hours.

But what about 'our card reader is down'. Close the store ?
I hope they do lose customers but all of the soccer moms pay with card
NO --- the real reason?
THE REAL REASON is to keep employees from pocketing cash.
Pub near me has sign saying no cash, as does restaurant chain I like for breakfast. It's legal although I hate the fake way they say "for your protection" with a vague implication that cash is dirty. It's like you say cash is a business problem for them is the real reason.

Be interesting to see if they try to do it everywhere.
