So cool! We have two mallards, a mating pair. This is starting the fourth year we’ve had them since they walked in to our yard one day. We knew nothing about ducks😁. Thank God for the internet! Anyway, it’s amazing how smart they are. We have a mini nest where they sleep at night in the dining room. They generally hold their poop until we let them out in the morning. We use large pine shavings for easy and thorough clean up. They let us know when it’s time to feed them or let them in at night. They hang out with the dogs and cats. It’s just crazy how well they all get along. I feel it’s a blessing for all of us! I know this sounds crazy. It’s been so much fun! A crazy, fun, high responsibility blessing!
We have a mini horse about the size of our Great Dane. Sometimes the kids think it’s hilarious to invite the mini horse in off the back patio and into the basement. I must admit, it’s a sight to see. He only stays a minute and goes right back outside. Life’s too short not to enjoy the crazy moments.
Lol! It’s right inside the door. That’s where my houseplants are. No hooves in the house, either. We had a coup for them. It was insulated and such. Where they sleep now is tiny. It’s 4’x4’. It gets a clean out and pine chip replacement every day. It makes gathering her eggs and the upkeep very easy. They haven’t had any viable babies but that’s okay. We don’t need any more birds. Quackers and Cheese are their names😁

You make me laugh too hard! Really, though, we have never had chickens. These guys came over. There were five of them originally. We have hawks and owls around here. Three disappeared in the first two days. I then started to worry. That’s how we started! That was over three years ago. They don’t like being in the house unless it’s nighttime. We turn off the light and, being birds, they go right to sleep. They start making noise in the early morning b/c they want out to potty. They rule the whole yard! My dogs protect them. The cats like to make them quack. Animals are so cool. My grandkids love them all, too! It’s truly a beautiful, fun life. I’m very thankful😇

I need suggestions for a 4-cup coffee pot. I only drink two cups a day, and my husband likes cold brew (blech) with his Dorothy contraption, so it doesn't need to be a big pot for just me. Currently I use a reuseable K-cup and Keurig for a single cup and it's getting old to deal with cleaning up the grounds I spill trying to get them into the little cup. First World problems, I know. Reeeeee.
I just have one of those Melita cones, I boil a small pan of water, put the ceramic cone over the cup, put the filter in , and use about a serving spoon of coffee, my son bought a coffee maker because he thought i was being a cavewoman doing it that way, but I think it tastes better and there is never any waste. Been doing that for oh, 40 years or so.

I've switched to drinking instant coffee. Quick, no mess, no waiting time and I've grown to like it just fine.
I have a big 2-cup mug and use 1 tsp caffeinated and 1 tsp decaf + a splash of my favorite organic milk and a Sweet 'n low packet and I am good to go.
2 1/2 minutes in the microwave, and DONE. The blend of the two flavors is very good.
My current fave is T_ster's Choice, House blend.
I would never eat Beyond Meat, ever. But instant coffee with my home purified water is delicious, as long as it has the good organic milk in it.
I haven't tried instant coffee in so long.
Ninja coffee system. I've had mine going on 8 years. Love it! 4 size brews: single, traveler, 1/2 and full pot. Makes a strong full bodied brew. Steam is blasted over the grounds, then after that brews.
It's not cheap, but prior to this I'd had them all, and nothing compares!!
Great....now I'm going to have to get one. Sounds perfect. I don't know what I'd do without coffee, scotch, and classical music, but I digress...😃

I have tried one, and have one, but I don't like it too much. I like my coffee piping hot and blaaaack without using a microwave.
How about an electric percolator? My Mom made awesome coffee in ours during my growing up years. Coffee was always piping hot and aromatic. The aroma would waft from the kitchen to my bedroom and wake me up and my sweet Mama didn't even drink coffee! I'd give anything to have her Sunbeam Percolator, toaster and stand mixer!
What a sweet memory!! I remember those from church singings.

My wife and I purchased an electric percolator that's pretty much the same as they were in the 60's. (Presto 12 Cup) They also have a 6 cup model. These things are made to last and make amazing coffee. We bought new, but I'm sure you can find older models in antique/second hand shops.
Easy to use, easy to clean and freed up a large chunk of counter space since we removed our drip brewer. Brews a pot in about 8 minutes.
Another thing we love about it, is it will keep the coffee hot all day without burning it like our previous brewer. I'm having a cup now that was brewed 10 hours ago and it tastes as good as when it was fresh.
Honestly don't see why people switched to drip brewers.
I agree fren! I loved our electric percolator for all the reasons you listed ...always piping hot, the flavor was sealed in, never bitter even after all day in the pot! Amazing!
And I don't know why we got rid of it for a plastic Mr. Coffee type, new fad I guess. Going to try to replace all of my Mom's beautiful Chrome appliances...Sunbeam percolator and toaster by shopping on eBay. They were designed by a wonderful man name Robert Budlong, famous for classic art deco designs on everything from Zenith radios to appliances.

Anything you find in good condition at a local antique store; the older the better as will generally be better quality and made in the USA.
Otherwise, if you have an Ace Hardware in your area, check the kitchen/cooking aisle and pick up the small Bunn coffee machine.

I am prior service, my husband is a retired veteran with over 14yrs with USAREC (And not too far out of it). We know MANY people (family & friends) still serving, many of who are still in USAREC. My comment above still stands on MY opinion. I wouldnt count on the military to save us from our Govt.
I was in the marines myself. It's a brother hood that runs deep. The roots are still solid just because a few stars say this or that. Appear weak when you are strong. My faith isn't in military it's in God however I do see God using the military for his glory. I'm not saying military is perfect. I'm saying they are still under side of Goods control. Not woke
