It amazes me how Elon Derangement Syndrome has taken hold. He's not even taking about stuff his people are doing, he's talking about AI in general.
Do you not think bad actors have been doing bad things with fuzzy logic and neural networks got years and years now? Do you think that the old Khazar attempts to make golems just ended? Do you think that demon summoners have stopped trying to put controllable powers into inanimate objects or bodies, and do you think these objects would not change over time?
If they succeed, it could very well be into a human-looking robot that acts very human and says confusing dangerous things... oh.
People stupidly believe that the world is black and white and everyone in it is either their side or our side.
They can't even reconcile something like neuralink being a nerd's dream. And on that point, we probably want Elon to get there...as someone (Facebook?) already literally made a real life version of the Nerve Gear.
For those who aren't familiar, the Nerve Gear is from a Japanese light novel (and anime) called Sword Art Online.
What it does is, essentially, regulates your senses.. including pain. It also has a nifty feature that sends microwaves directly into your head to fry your brain.
"Wait", you say. "That's weeb shit, that ain't reality" you may assert.
Not black and white... binary, (ones and zeros) at last from AI perspective... ultimately we are all just numbers to AI or more appropriately, switches that can be turned off (zeroed out, or set to null with no resource consumption)... The really scary part is all of the error-ridden computer models that the left stakes many of its claims on.. Climate Change, zero oil, polls.... garbage in- garbage out just think of AI making decisions based upon garbage data... now try and sleep at night.
Correct. I've seen some very expensive experiments with it reduced from "AI" to "machine learning" because the young people couldn't provide good enough input for it to do anything else. They did not train in the field they wanted to apply the computer to, so the computer symptoms were awful and caused decisions that lost money. Pattern recognition still depends on the priorities provided by humans, among other things, and the people behind the wheels of these projects just aren't good at this. Maybe we should be thankful for that
It's because it's popular, and where popularity is, it becomes popular to hate.
Was it the best of all time? No. But it essentially spawned and refined a genre in such a way that even puts .Hack to shame.
Also, the animation remains great and even beyond that, the audio team did a fantastic job of building hype through sound, something that doesn't get a lot of appreciation.
I remain this forum's resident keto degenerate but dammit
Elon Musk and now ex-wife Grimes met at a discussion of Roko's Basilisk, which posits:
What, Roko asked, should we do if we are certain that artificial intelligence will reach what is known as “the singularity” and become self-aware and ultimately all-powerful? If we help such a being into existence we guarantee our obsolescence, but if we don’t, the all-powerful AI might punish us for eternity.
What if "Aritificial Intelligence becoming sentient" = masses waking up? Re-read the paragraph above with that symbolism implied.
Adding to my comment, I thought about golems strongly and today, another post references a fellow I had never known of, Edward Riordan- boy that's a rabbit hole. I opened his YT channel and saw from 3 months ago a video on tennis viewing Q, AI, The Golem. Must watch.
I think people like Elon may( or may not) think they can improve the “ human condition “ with their implementations — however I don’t think any of these people ( including Elon) realize just how strong the God gene is in most of us— we are “perfect Gods creations “
Deal with it
Why does perfect mean we can't be made smarter? Maybe being perfect means being preciously as smart as we are.
It's clearly possible to be smarter than we are. God is smarter, and we're more than a few IQ points from that level of intelligence.
What about medical advancements to make us live longer? Adam and Eve lived to be 900. So clearly we've gotten worse in some ways. Making us live longer would just be bringing us back up to par. If we've gotten dumber than we wouldn't be surpassing perfection, we'd be getting closer towards it once again.
We are no longer perfect. Sin ruined that, and as such it's feasible that there are ways to improve us through technological or medical development, that would not be pushing us past perfection (This is doubly so when you consider all the ways the cabal has fucked us over with shitty food, shitty water, shitty air, shitty everything. It's all made to weaken and kill us).
Not in terms of crazy shit like uploading our brains, becoming giga-chad cyborg AI people, or anything like that, to be clear.
The hilarious thing about any argument is that God gave us free will and intelligence to evolve and improve ourselves. Everything in this universe is God's, ultimately.
God made us perfect. How can you improve on perfection? We may be able to change ourselves, but that doesn't mean we should or that it would be an improvement (assuming of course we were still perfect, which we aren't).
For the record, I didn't downvote you. Don't know why anyone would for what you commented.
“When humans became smarter than other primates they pushed primates into smaller habitats”. Uh, this Elon guy supposed to be a genius right? You have to be incredibly stupid or gullible to buy into evolution. Sorry. This guy not smart. It sure we should bother listening to any own who believe in the impossible. I don’t mean like impossible until you try hard enough, I’m talking impossible and it cannot happen. Like, no path to being possible impossible is what I’m saying. DNA transcription alone proves this. Much less math and probability.
Evolution has already been observed on smaller scale. Evolution from primates is a near impossibility to prove, but evolution on its own is something we do every generation.
The size and development of our brains alone are a massive evolution over even a few hundred years ago.
The only parts of evolution that can make any sense are survival of the fittest and natural selection. They are self evident truths. Neither of which are avenues to cross species mutation.
This is a non sequitor. This statement has absolutely nothing to do with evolution. Whatever mechanism you want to believe allowed humans to become smarter than other primates, even if you want to believe the mechanism was divine creation, they still did exactly as Elon said.
Sorry but evolution makes sense in a number of different ways. Can you elaborate on your DNA transcription statement? That is the first I’ve ever heard that.
If you ask me a number of different ways is stretching. The only self evident truths of evolution are survival of the fittest and natural selection. The rest is a farce. The Point I was alluding to regarding DNA transcription is the multiple layers of exact evolution that would have to occur. The information or code in DNA is very much the same as digital information. I am not a smart dude but my career is in electronics so I at least understand digital information (DI). DI compares to DNA in the exacting nature of it. Think computer code, software. All it takes is one character to be off in a string of code a mile long in order the software to malfunction. DNA information is the same way except it’s expresses itself physically in 3 dimensions. Think of a 3 dimensional puzzle piece. An exact 3-D puzzle piece that has every single nook and cranny of its exact chemical make up expressed in 3-D. Again, one digit off and it will not be recognized this it won’t be able to connect. This would represent a protein. A very basic protein has such specific shape that it can only connect to another in a very specific way. Well, these proteins all, through their programming, strip apart and reconnect down the double helix structure of the DNA strand. The chance that one of these proteins happens by chance is astronomical. Completely impossible. Here’s the kicker. There multiple layers of different proteins needed for the whole transcription process to take place. All with varying levels of complexity. To date no protein, not even the simplest form has been known to have evolved or shown the capability of evolving.
The chance of ever happening is so incredibly astronomical, like to the triple digit power, that not only is it completely improbable but PHD probability mathematicians have calculated that there has not even been enough time in existence for evolution of the simplest protein to have taken place. Much less as we climb the complexity scale of proteins. Mind you the time in existence that they are referring to is the billions years estimate that evolutionists love to scream about. It’s all trash.
All evidence points towards intelligent design. Jump down that rabbit hole and you will find God. As COVID-19 has revealed many falsehoods it has also revealed many false scientific heretics and how an agenda warps the search for truth.
If you care to know more try reading Stephen C. Miller’s The Signature in the Cell, Stephen C. Miller’s Darwin’s Doubt, Eric Matax’s, Is Atheism Dead?, Josh McDowell (self proclaimed atheist turned Christian) Evidence that Demands a Verdict, etc etc. there are many. Unfortunately just like all left agendas they are built on the smothering of truth. Otherwise, how could they prosper.
So do I disavow Christianity but I have no desire to implant anything into anyone or have anything implanted into me.
There were sixteen redeemers like Jesus Christ in history..that's the few we know about crucified etc etc. Read about them..educate yourself and then see how you think.
People have the idea that non Christians havent got the ability to love their neighbours...to have empathy and kindness....they seem to think only they will get to a mythical heaven even christ their saviour said was inside them not in the sky.
People have the idea that they can save themselves by being good. Who is good but God? None. Nobody can save themselves, not even Christians. We are saved by our faith in Christ. The one and only all powerful living God that loved us so much became human and lived a perfect life which no man is capable of and we crucified Him for it. Thankfully His power extends beyond death. By our belief in His blood we are saved for we are all sinners. There is a lot of theology in that to unpack. It goes deep but the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. You should at least try to find out before you curse yourself to an eternity in Hell. I pray you find truth brother.
You’re wrong. We learn about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ where we learn Jesus set up His same gospel in the Americas from 600 BC - 400 AD. Jesus is the savior of mankind. He lived a perfect life as an example for us to follow. He suffered for our sins, not on the cross, but in the garden of Gethsemane. He was crucified, yes, like the others you speak of, but only Jesus, the only begotten Son of God atoned for our sins in the garden. He is the way to eternal life.
Probably true, and also doesn't matter at all. AI becoming human-like (or trying to) is a common misconception.
Also, lack of consciousness is not as much of a problem as you might assume. Because how would you know? How do you know if a person you're interacting with is actually conscious, or just a total NPC functioning on autopilot? You don't. You're just assuming that since you're a human and you're conscious and they're also a human therefore they must be conscious too... but is it really the case? Once AI NPCs are as good or better than human NPCs, we won't really be able to tell the difference.
While it's true that most don't know much about AI, I don't believe I can fall into that category even slightly (not that it should matter). Furthermore, the understanding of what the mind is and isn't reveals much more than the speculation of "modern science" on the progression of human technology.
I agree that there is certainly a threat to the reckless creation of devices, but this issue is not novel or new. Must I mention the generation of phone zombies to illustrate this point? Or the previous generation of TV zombies? Or perhaps the failure of 'voting technology' (malicious or not)? Maybe the introduction of unnecessary pharmaceuticals, or methods of "healing" by which the body is injected with terrible poison for months on end? How about advanced weaponry, unmanned drones, nuclear bombs? This issue has always and will always exist, and we are currently living in its consequences. It has only to get worse -- which is a matter of degree -- not of kind. And if the sages of old had any real insight (which I personally believe they did), we're due for another 428,000 years of overall descent into worse and worse consequences (though fortunately, there are infinite cycles within cycles, and smaller are those of 'dark ages' and 'renaissance').
My point was this:
To assert that a device can out-think the human mind in every way is to blatantly show ones ignorance about Mind, and reveal that the "mind" of such a speaker is trapped in a very small box of materialistic biases.
Men are children of God; living and breathing. Even the best imitation of such a creation by humans will only ever be a facsimile of life: never the real thing. Humans cannot create consciousness, they can only extend their own. These two ought never be conflated.
Or the nature of man’s brain. To come out and say a super computer will be more intelligent than a man without fully understanding the human brain makes for a very weak argument.
I think Elon has a bit of the huckster trait in him. He tends to overreach on his arguments sometimes. Like when he talks about building sustainable cities on Mars. Elon — Now about we solve sustainability problems on earth first as a step toward that ? Or are you counting on artificial intelligence to solve that for you ?
How about BELIEVING the much more likely scenario that man is going to be contained on earth and sell people on stopping pollution and destructive land and water practices. And shelve the insane cult of “CO2 is pollution”. Oh wait, you used that to get massive government subsidies to build electric cars. What ARE you up to Elon ??
Sorry. Elon Musk is a clever guy, but he doesn't know the first thing about the real nature of Man.
It amazes me how Elon Derangement Syndrome has taken hold. He's not even taking about stuff his people are doing, he's talking about AI in general.

So, I'll say it: I would rather have Elon win the inevitable race to that technology, because if he doesn't, someone else far more malevolent will.
