For months I’ve been reading posts and articles about Dandelion and it’s health benefits. Here is one example of what I’ve observed over the course of the past (and my first) week of taking dandelion whole plant extract:
I wear a smart watch at times to monitor myself and find trends. My spO2 (oxygen) reading is essentially an average of a range throughout the day. My typical average is 95%. My range has been anywhere from 92-97%.
After a week of taking dandelion whole plant extract my avg is now 97% with my range being 95-99. Never, in the 3 years of wearing the watch, have I seen those numbers. I feel fantastic. While I always leave a caveat that I can’t be 100% sure, the ONlY change is the dandelion.
A word to the wise about making your own dandelion extracts/teas: Don't go digging them up out of your lawn. They are a root, and absorb all the fertilizers and herbicides you put on your lawn. The stuff you buy is from (allegedly) farms that are free from toxins. Allegedly.
That is just nonsense.. to say that is so bad.. to believe that is worse,! Off course some of the soil not good but to say your yard is bad! Trust me I grew up on a large farm and worked it for 25 years! Everything that you have eaten for you whole life has been fertilized, and some form of herbicide used to control te weeds! And pesticides! Grown organically is a myth! If you don’t grow it yourself and pull the weeds yourself, and pickoff the pest with you fingers youself.. then assume that the above is true… no farmer could profit anything with today’s food prices without fertilizer, herbicide, and pesticides. Period
Go eat a bowl of glyphosate then, no one cares what you believe
I didn’t say I liked it but it is the truth. It’s another dimension of the lies we have all been living in
Not if you don’t poison your yard and/or you have a solid history of your land.
What if one doesn't do that to their lawn ?
Are there pets? Possible runoff from neighbor's lawns? How does one protect themselves from these possible contaminants from sourced product? This is a difficult question to answer. I'd be careful.
In south Florida, illegal immigrants collect palmetto berries from wherever they can be found, and sell them to wholesalers. There is absolutely no quality control, and they can be growing in septic fields for all we know.
I’m in Montana so I get them from my son’s house out in the country!
Dandelion is almost like a miracle herb...its' benefits are so positive and diverse. It really is amazing what benefits it has for the body. I am glad you were in some way able to document the positive effects, because so often we know we feel better, but we really can't quantify the positive effects. I reviewed what it benefits and there are over 13 positive benefits, so people should really check out to add dandelion tea to their regime or even whether to purchase some capsules. I will add that when you purchase standardized herbs (given in %) it indicates that the product has been tested for that percent of active ingredient. The best herbal supplements should be standardized so that you know that the quality of the herb meets the standardized criteria.
I have a personal story about this as well. Dandelion tea or extract. All the above is true. It is a phenomenal self-help tool!
My kids just go eat them from the yard. The neighbors probably think we are crazy, but I couldn't care less. My 6 year old asks the neighbors if they want more dandelions in their yard. They say no, but then he blows seeds everywhere every chance he gets. It's great. We also make teas, tinctures, etc.
Very good for you
I've been following Dr. Lee Merritt from America's Frontline Doctors. She is super sharp and very awake. (Side note I'm listening to her now on BardsFM, hugely enlightening discussion! https://rumble.com/v238gvk-ep1932-bardsfm-a-conversation-with-dr.-lee-merritt-pt-2.html) Anyway, from her website on Dandelion https://drleemerritt.com/uploads/Dandilion%20Powder%20.pdf
And you can use the stem to blow a whistle. .....
Honk!
That's really interesting! I made myself quite a lot of dandelion tea in a cafetiere last year with flowers from the garden, maybe I'll try again this year. I heard that dandelion is one of the things which helps de-tox spike proteins.
The great thing about dandelions is they are easy to find and identify.
.
I bought organic seeds to grow my own in flower pots for consumption. https://mountainroseherbs.com/dandelion-seeds
No, the root and leaf have different, yet related, properties.
The leaf made into tea or tisane is delicious!
