THANK you for this. A loved one suffers from alcoholism and it is so very frustrating. He fell off the wagon after rehab and almost 2 years of sobriety. I am sending him a link to this book I found. The comments on Amazon are overwhelmingly positive.
Alcoholic here, got sober in 2017. I’ve taken a B-Complex twice a day since quitting. I’m around alcohol all the time and never have a thought of drinking. AA was still essential in the beginning to understand what I was doing to myself and others.
If you are a praying person, pray for my family. I can't take it anymore. He has been to AA and rehab, did really well for a long time after the last go around. Your story gives me hope. Six years is darned impressive.
Done.
Please, don’t forget to look after yourself as well. Alcoholics too often choose to sink themselves, those that care must remember not to let themselves sink as well.
Has he read or listened to Allen Carrs easy way method to control alcohol? Don’t let the title fool you, it is to stop drinking permanently. You can get the audiobook free using an audible trial.
I quit smoking after 18 years of smoking after listening to his quit smoking audiobook, 26 days so far, and it was easy. It basically removes all the brainwashing using repeated logic of why there is no genuine pleasure in the addiction. Once that happens, the craving goes, the struggle goes, and it’s easy to quit.
So sorry about your daughter I hope she is okay. I am obsessed with researching this issue. I truly wouldn't wish this disease on my worst enemy. It is torturous and devastating to the afflicted person and everyone around him/her. And I have been through enough programs to have met and have watched dozens of people with so much promise and so much to lose, slowly kill themselves and drain their family to the point of exhaustion. It sucks. Royally.

Anyway I recommend it. Sometimes addiction and quitting is hard because we’ve been brainwashed to believe it is. Like I said 18 years of struggling to quit smoking in my case. And I have had addiction issues with weed and alcohol too in the past, but the quitting smoking was my main culprit, and once I quit using the audiobook, it has a knock on effect to avoiding those past addictions again.
On that site you will see, I think is Dr. Hoffer, curing Polio in the 30's and 40's high doses of Vitamin C. He wrote books on it. The government tried to crush these guys out of business.
So many hidden therapies and solutions out there, it's incredible. Many years of digging into this stuff has been an eye opener - Reading books, watching vides, taking advice on this site, etc. I love this stuff.
Ivermection, Apple Cider Vinegar, C, D & Magnesium, Minerals, NAD, Electric Zappers, Cold Therapies, Of course working out, Fasting, Diets & Whole Foods, ect, ect.
Very cool and so great to hear about your journey. NAD is just another supplement. Cold therapy is the cold shower, ice baths, ect..Not earth shattering but quite interesting to try for a couple weeks.
They are brilliant - Saul's site (doctoryourself.com) is where I got this article, as you can probably tell.
I have had a ton of anger towards the "medical" slobs and media for keeping this stuff hidden away from the masses. Imagine how many lives could have been saved and or quality of life improved. Very sad.
Used to get that all the time when I used to drink C4s. They have a lot of Niacin, and even had the warning for the tingly feelings you get on the can. It's true that the feeling is really not too bad if you know what to expect.
I'm having that right now LOL. Back in August of 2022 I was prescribed Accutane by my dermatologist. As a result by triglycerides skyrocketed to 498 (was about 191 before). Over the course of 4 months I got it down to 309 but need to get it lower.
My doc prescribed a statin which I was very apprehensive of taking as it has lots of side effects. Turns out (and probably very fortunate for me) I seem to be allergic to the statins as I had an asthma attack after the 2 times I took them.
I just got Niacin delivered and took this evening. Though I was expecting some reaction since I had read this thread beforehand, it was a bit more than I expected. I didn't freak out but my nurse wife kinda did. The flushing and itching for me was a bit longer than I had read about. For me it's been close to an hour but getting better. Hopefully it doesn't get this bad every time I use it.
My kids said I look like a sunburned lobster LMAO.
You get really HOT/Warmish, skin turns reddish color all over- feels like a huge rush and flush of blood going through your body. Kind of weird at first.
Read through the comments of this book, I didn't know what it was either but sounds a lot like hot flashes. One of the commenters says you can take the non-flush variety of B3, another says the flush variety is better even though a little uncomfortable.
Probably like hot flashes, I guess. I don't get those.. :).
Niacinamide is the no flush version on B3. I have heard that it doesn't produce the same positive effects. The key is gradually building up - not banging down 1000mg's off the bat.
So If someone is frying balls and having a bad trip b3 will bring them down? That would have been good to know in the 80's. Babysat more than a few acid trips that went wrong.
It's probably both. People are so indoctrinated with the medical community. I loved the substack article with Burning Bright about heterodoxy. I've never heard that word before but it sure fit me to a T. "rebel against the "orthodoxy". I've never liked doctors, never been in the hospital except when I was born, And I didn't have a say. But wow, do most people I know Worship their docs. Even my husband. I will try any and all "natural" products over some doctors pills. My husband would never touch Ivermectin. His lose. People think their doctor walks on water. My client's love going to the hospital because they get all that Nice attention. Food brought to them, etc. Who gives a sh*t if the doc knows what he is doing! One client was killed by his "nice" doctor!
2 kids born at home. My 5 sisters were horrified. My dad was born at home so that ended that conversation! My husband has had 2 jabs and a booster. But he got lucky because he is already on heart meds so that was a life saver. He also has been taking the Z pack along with me and he seems to trust my judgement more now after 33 years...and he is truly very healthy. Even goes to the gym 3 days a week. He had an minor issue and when to see his doc which ended up with surgery and I think he is rethinking his love for doctors. It's a Lot to do with $$$
I can not stand even being close to the white coats - been one time in 30yrs for a physical and it was a complete a waste of time and money. Never again.
They love to get people in for the annual "well person" physicals to get them on some drug. High Blood pressure? Here you go. Skin problems - here you go. Anything they can get a drug for. Upset stomach - Drug, Oh must be the bladder - drug, maybe it's your blood - Blood thinner.
I call the annual well person exam the gateway - they will lead you down a path that is not good.
Hopefully more find out. Especially after what I just read a few posts away about the abuse of medical coding. We need to ditch big medical. Holistic Dr's. don't take insurance but they go after the cause, not just load you up on big pharma.

There's a whole protocol around taking Niacin and doing sauna therapy for detoxing our bodies. They use this in rehab and drug treatment centers (for alcohol and drug abuse), and it's very effective to rid our bodies of accumulated toxins.
Niacin flush: Niacin causes vasodilation, which means your arteries expand. When the small arterioles in your capillaries near the skin surface dilate, your blood circulation increases and your skin becomes red and warm.
NAD+: Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a coenzyme for reduction-oxidation reactions for energy metabolism at the cellular level. Your body can use Niacin to make NAD+.
Ok, now. What is a coenzyme for reduction-oxidation reactions for energy metabolism at the cellular level? Why do you want that? Sounds really important.
It enables the mitochondria in your cells produce ATP, which is the fundamental building block of energy for your body. You not only want this, but your body needs it to function.

Maybe this will help, maybe not. But worth looking into it?

tweety51A- I have ppl, loved ones, in my life suffering such. Thx to YOU I begin a new journey. Much love, wish me luck...❤️
Thx tweety, you are part of what makes our little 'site' of Truth seeking 'see'. Some call it Truth, I call it love (yeah, I'm kinda corny like that)

I thought it was the beta alanine that causes the tingles in C4 and other pre workouts.
You might be right, I haven't had energy drinks in a while so I don't exactly remember

Explain what "flush" is.

Like a long lasting hot flash, my skin gets red too. Helps to take with food.
This.
So If someone is frying balls and having a bad trip b3 will bring them down? That would have been good to know in the 80's. Babysat more than a few acid trips that went wrong.
It's funny how vitamin c will kick a trip into high gear but b3 will slow it down. Nature really does have a solution for everything.

We scientologists now lol
in all seriousness, niacin is powerful. If you do not know what you are doing only take the rda
I take 500 g every night. It’s a wild ride because it causes your body to flush. I mostly take it as a cheap way to raise NAD+
Don't you mean mg?
Flush?
What does that mean? "To flush" and "NAD+?"
Niacin flush: Niacin causes vasodilation, which means your arteries expand. When the small arterioles in your capillaries near the skin surface dilate, your blood circulation increases and your skin becomes red and warm.

IF YOU TAKE NIACIN MAKE SURE IT IS NICOTINIC ACID! This is the flush niacin. Do not take fake non-flush niacin. Learn to love the flush, it's a rush.
Thanks for this! I just posted https://greatawakening.win/p/16ZqdWMvUS/medical-info-help-request-bipola/ asking for exactly this type of help. Very grateful.
