There's an easy way to defeat this -- don't shop there and take your business elsewhere. Now's the time to nip this in the bud.
Amazon are so big they can just buy so many retail outlets that the options to go elsewhere is reduced so much and there'll eventually only be these stores; or other big stores will copy their model to compete for "convenience" and we'll only have these shops to choose from regardless!
This is going to require anti-trust lawsuits, and ultimately the breakup of Amazon into many smaller pieces. Same for Google, Microsoft, etc.
Oh yes, the good ol’ days. I miss when the DOJ served justice.
Came here to say this. I think the same thing about Blackrock.
Normies don’t care though.
Well if they're jabbed, they may not be here long enough to partake.
It will be interesting to see how this model works in south side Chicago.
They'll find ways to defeat it for a little while. But eventually, the system will become harder/impossible to defeat. Then, one scenario would be that the dindunuffins will have to either accept defeat and live on the guberment dole that will be offered to them in return for their obedience/complicity or steal from anyone and everyone who obeyed/complied with the system until such time as the AI drone/robot police dogs take them out.
Exactly
Well, it is a push for a cashless society and absolute control over buying. It is pretty scary where we are headed. Anyone that has a cell phone, smart tv or refrigerator, smart meter or car, or even a roomba...you are already being tracked 24/7...technology never sleeps...
Looks like you can just jump over the gate.
Seriously thought this is asking for a smash and grab. *don't bring your phone.
Eventually they will install rotating crossbar-doors, like the NYC subway.
They were installed precisely for that reason: to stop diversity from jumping over turnstiles.
They will have to remove windows from the store too because diversity will just throw a rock through it
Iron/steel bars in the windows. Like any turd-world country.
Diversity is our strength!
Turd-world kek
Exactly. Silly but some truth.
wally world and mcd's are already pushing for no cashiers. Fuck the Singularity
Yup, other stores too, and the existing cashiers are more than happy to direct customers to the self-checkouts without realizing they're stupidly helping the stores eliminate their jobs.
Exactly. The fully automated robot McDonald's is ready to go. I know this is 'utopian fantasy ' but I really want to see corporations abolished completely. Revoke "personhood". Federal Reserve all get woodchiped. Go back to gold standard. But my mood today is more Mad Max than positive. Maybe the rain grey day and that I threw up my coffee yesterday and haven't eaten in 36 hours ....kind of black pilled today. Need some cannabis.
God help us.
Forcing those with souls to return to good old fashioned trade.
Grow your own food, and raise a few hens?
Subsistence farming is horribly time inefficient. Do you have any idea how much work is involved in growing, harvesting, processing, and storing 300 pounds of wheat? Way more than the $1.40 a pound the LDS church will sell you 5.5 pound #10 cans of it for.
Free stuff. Thanks Amazon you dystopian kidfuckers
How is my grandma going to price haggle now??
She's not, nor is she going to waste my time arguing about coupons not applying, or waiting for an employee to unlock the cigarette display, or waiting for her to write a check.
What happens when Amazon decides your social score sucks and cancels your account?
Really think those turn stiles are going to prevent theft? Inflation gos up people are ransacking those places first. Doesn't matter considering they're going to try and starve the population anyways.
Hold on toy-t to your cell phones!! Theft incentives just ramped up too. Hmm, better start pushing an implantable then....
Mark-of-Beast Rewards Card?!!
🤡👹🤡
It’s the platinum card that lets you buy and sell ANYWHERE! Plus, you can purchase luxury items such as: FOOD.
👹🤡👹
*disclaimer: side-effects include itching, scratching, bleeding sores, 5-G headaches and eternal damnation.
Yowz - I can actually see people lining up for these chip implants even if the side effects you stated were said / listed for real. Like a current prescription drug commercial with people smiling and happy music ‘may induce immediate death but only in rare cases’.
Had I not woken up I probably would have thought this was a cool idea. Now... Not so much.
That isn't the problem. The problem is politicians with the desire and unchecked ability to force arbitrary purchase limits on you that is the problem. Have you ever tried to buy real Sudafed since meth became a thing? Same idea, different technology..
Lol. All you need is a group of joggers to hop the entryway, grab what they want, and hope back out. It's not like you can't get in/out without scanning a barcode. You just can't get in if you're honest.
And with them defunding the police I say why not. Wear a mask, glove up and get free shit.
So design the entries with mantraps. No hopping the entry. You go into a little person sized box. Once inside the mantrap you present your credentials and then the inner door opens.
Then you get to meet the non-pet version of Jeff Bezos' robotic doggy.
Absolutely false. People will find a way to rob a store, easily.
Heck, just follow someone in who scans their amazon app. There, I already cracked the safe.
Hold a gun to the head of someone that just exited. This will be an ATM on steroids once starvation kicks in.
And opps, you:
And any one of those lead the Police to you and they charge you not with shoplifting, but with the much worse crime of evading social credit and purchase controls and you're sent to the thermal de-polymerization plant to be recycled into oil and trace minerals to offset your carbon sins. You must understand when this reaches its logical conclusion they will crack down on your for failing to obey.
everyone needs to stop shopping and start growing your own. Learn a trade and begin bartering locally.
some uses RFID scanner to steal your amazon ID, walks in and fills their pockets, backpack, etc. (these don't necessarily only steal RFID chip signals, but radio frequency scanners like this have been used to clone remote vehicle entry and mimic the radio frequency signals sent by cell phone apps)
There are some nice cryptographic protection mechanisms. I'd worry way more about thugs stealing your phone from you than stealing your signals.
oh I'm not worrying, I'm just sharing information.
but what do you mean by cryptographic protection mechanisms? so if someone literally records the radio activity given off by your phone which the machine reads.. you're saying by some sort of black box magic that the machine reading the signal will know the difference between your phone broadcasting the same exact signal as another device doing so? And the threat of the signal being stolen and spoofed for use is more of a threat because you are not immediately aware of it.
I mean your device/card isn't just broadcasting your account number and that anyone that records it can rebroadcast it to buy anything they want anywhere. What your device is broadcasting is a unique, encrypted, token generated specifically for that transaction. Capturing and replaying it will accomplish nothing.
You'd have a lot more work to use that data for fraud purposes.
They abandoned a bunch of these up around Sacramento. I don’t know why. But they were built and didn’t open
If you attempt to steal, an armed robot will execute you.
You love to see it!
These will not be seen in low income areas where crime is rampant.
This video is kind of stupid. You can easily walk past those bars, I’m going to take whatever you want as long as you don’t have your phone with you. The sliding glass doors open automatically without your phone, you don’t wave your phone until you get into the store. A store like this in a blue city, would never make it.
Now… With all that being said, yes, this is creepy, yes, Amazon sucks, and yes, people are being brainwashed into thinking this is all going to be normal one day. The upside! You don’t have to deal with the Circle K cashier
guess store off hours are for restocking..
Off hours? An operation like that need never close. They can restock shelves while the place is open and knowing Amazon they'll probably have robots doing the restocking before long.
Who stocks these stores?
I'm all in favor of not having to wait in line for a stranger with unknown personal hygiene habits to silently judge my purchases while spreading germs from every other person whose purchases they have touched since they last washed their hands. Yeah, I get it stockers and other shoppers can touch things I am picking up, but cutting one body out of the chain helps.
As far as the cash thing, I'm cheap, so if I can save 3% or 5% using Amazon's credit card I'm definitely doing that. If you're someone who has different values, I don't see why you couldn't buy an Amazon gift card for cash at a different store and load it onto your account.
As a purchaser of real Sudafed to deal with cold congestion I can assure you the Government doesn't not need a cashless society to exert control over what you purchase. If I have to have all merchants online so the database can check if you've exceeded your non-insect protein allocation for the week, does it really matter if you are identified by your State issued ID or by your cashless payment method?
The cashless part just makes it harder for you to exchange money with other citizens, it doesn't fundamentally change your experience with the merchant who will be required to enforce purchase limits and other policies. The funds check is separate from the "will we allow you to buy that" check.
Catbox will not load for me ever anymore
I find it hilarious that this supremely high tech leaves retarded humans in it's wake, yet as time goes on, the people who built it will die. And when it comes time to fix it, all that will be left is a bunch of retards created by the ones who made the tech who are now dead or gone.
There is an insane push in the field of automation and electronics right now. But it is a difficult field. Very difficult. And the more tech progresses, the more dumb humans get...
So I am very anxious to see how the younger generations will adapt.
Circles that are Vicious!!!
Fix it? You mean replace the malfunctioning thing with a new one? The AI will dispatch the robots to do that.
Humans are inherently flawed by sin.
We literally cannot create perfection, which computers demand to operate solidly.
Errors occur that need human intervention. And no matter how well we create an AI, even if we use the most perfect model that we can devise, and use that model to create more AI neural networks, which is already being done. The AI will train and enhance the unforseen flaws that humans input into it. AI will forever be corrupted because humans are the ones who invented it. And we as humans, are inherently flawed. On purpose.
AI will get very good, don't get me wrong. It will destroy many jobs. But in the end of it, it will die off like a bad disease. Because it will consume itself, by killing its host.
We humans are built in the image of perfection, the image. A reflection in the mirror.
But we are not perfection. Just made in the likeness of.
We are created by a creator and thus will create in the image of ourselves. But it will forever be a tragedy. In my opinion.
You don't need perfection to result in a much better world. And computers are blissfully free of the sort of weaknesses of the flesh that the deceiver uses to corrupt men. They don't have jealousy, envy, chemical addiction, or laziness or so many other things that can lead you astray.
I think one of the great capacities of man is for self-reflection. How many times growing up did you see your parents act in a way that made you say, "I never want to be like that with my kids". And I'm sure at some point you did exactly the same thing they did out of frustration or tiredness or whatever their reason for it. But if you were making something you would have made it to avoid that.
And software gives you the ability to do that .
How easy would it be to quit drinking or cheating on your wife if you had no physical desires and feedback from those actions?
I really enjoy this answer.
It is hopeful. And informed. With thought.
I do often wonder if I myself am the Luddite. But I cannot see that far into the future.
I hope you are right. I really do.
Theft will still be high as it will be easy to jump the turnstile.
I like that worthless thieving shitbags will be locked out and left on sidewalk to starve.
Why would you defend corporations?
Thieves are worse, the only reason I have to deal with corporations is if the government forces me (ala Obamacare)
I hear ya. I just hate Amazon so much that I would take from that store. Thou shall not steal is very clear.
Because I hate communists.
What? What do you think fascism is?
Amazon is a behemoth company that disrupted a lot of traditional retail by offering a superior experience to consumers and this storefront is just more of the same. A supermarket where I don't have to interact with clerks or wait in line or scan my groceries? Sounds great to me. If you don't like it, ain't nobody forcing you to shop there. What's fascist about that?
Nah shoplifters will be useful when this happens.
I've never shoplifted in my life. I may start training.
I am 100% going to shop lift in Seattle if this happens. There is no law there anyways. Nothing is gonna stop them. I don’t have a problem stealing from mega corps.
Useful joggers.
Maybe, seems like it would be easy to jump over and take what they like.
That's what the automated defense turrets are for.
They love doing that shit.
