Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an intergral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on it's evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Popping in to say Hi 👋 I've taken a much needed break for at least a week maybe more, don't remember. After reading some here tonight I'll probably be back on the break. Focusing on family and my health. Nothing major just gotta loose weight. So far my eating habits have been better the last month than in five years. I believe the past three years I've been in a fog or something with all that's been happening. If I didn't reply to someone's comment please accept my apologies. I hope y'all have a great weekend. Thanks for always being real frens🐸 It's truly a great place to connect.
I have this app called Bobby Approved. It will let you scan items and then, if the item is in the database, it will list the ingredients and highlight the ones that are toxic. That's been really helpful for me. I did not realize the scope of FDA approved ingredients which contain toxins. Good luck to you and way to take care of your health!
Glad to hear you've been taking some sabbatical. Best of fortune with the current endeavors.
Take care of yourself, and will see you soon❤️

Love you all. If you wanna be on the show please reach out and we can set something up. Together through Christ we have endless potential
I saw a video on Instagram you can keep flour in mason jar using an attachment for the Foodsaver. It might be special lids, not sure. You have to put a piece of paper towel on it so the floor doesn't suck up. I don't remember the shelf life doing this. One person commented and saying wheat berries are a better option. You would have to grind them into flour. Apparently they last longer. I follow gardeners and homesteaders, I think the homesteaders are into getting the berries. Kinda like living like Amish in making food. There's probably info online. This is links I saved. On a related note I just found out you can can water. Even tap water and it taste good or better after canning. The video I saw said it started out because sometimes you have an empty space and using a jar of water helps. One commenter said when she was growing up her family canned water and kept in basement for tornado season. Obviously before bottled water. Sorry I don't have a video.

I am a baker, and I bought some flower doing Covid. It was some special kind of quaker flower. Anyway, the reason I like it is because it was 4 cups per bag. So all I needed to use one bag to make my own bread. I saved the bags, because I wanted to use them for special things when I was baking.
Well here it is a couple years later, and I thought oh great I’ll use that flower for these cookies I want to make. But the minute I opened it up, it smelled really bad. I ended up throwing them all away. No big deal.
I think if the flower that you have doesn’t smell bad or taste bad, then you should use it. The only reason not to use it, is if it did smell or taste bad, and it would ruin the food that you were making. Other than that enjoy it.
Edit; I just looked up on the Internet how long flour lasts. It says 3 to 8 months. But I know that’s bull crap. However, it did say you could extend the life of your flower if you keep it in the refrigerator or freezer. It was on Google, so just saying.
It’s funny you say that because the reason why they say that the flour goes bad, it’s because of the oils in it. So if the old flower had that oily feeling to it, probably cause it went bad. I’m glad you switched it out. What are you making? I hope it’s something good.
Thank you baker.
hehehe
Just for the record, he replaced the flower, because the old flower felt oily, compared to the new flower.
But I get what you’re saying. KEK!
If you’re baking, there’s always going to be crumbs
Wait. Feedback loop check here. What am I saying?
Follow the crumbs
I'm not entirely sure if this is how it starts....
Anyway, my baker comment was a q-research board reference.
I thought so! And yes, this is how it starts. Lol. Communicating with one another. I love this.
For those of you who are interested, Part 2 of Series II is just now released.
It is here: https://greatawakening.win/p/16aA97Pst1/
I know this Series II is difficult. Please hang in there. One more Part, and then I will begin Series III - which I suspect most of you will find appealing, to say the least.
Thank you, as always.

12Indeed, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 13But wicked people and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving others and being deceived. 14But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it, 15and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work. From Timothy Chapter 3. Have a great weekend.
I would like to know why I'm banned so much?
I agree, and when you get a ban they are not polite about it, even when ones post is an innocuous question within the bounds of Q (question everything). Kind of a power trip I suppose. Who knows what goes through their mind. Perhaps they feel they are doing the right thing, but people should be able to disagree honorably. I do believe they should change the rules and allow at least one (kind) warning first instead of coming on hard with indecent language and attacks.
One possibility is that you post such low quality content, consistently.
Is that why I have 147K points. I do get some good replies.
Off the top of my head, looking at this fact, I would say you must have been a heavy lifter for a while, who has for some reason at some point in time, started posting low quality content.
Not sure General Chat can help you with that.
Because the squirrel lost his nut.
I read somewhere that they actually maintain their stashes, doing rotations & stuff so they don't sprout....
So if we mess with the smells, like by burning logs, do they get confused and go away a bit, or dig more because they have a harder time?

Question of the Day:
Where is Rooftop?
Answer of the Day:
Stay tuned, stay calm, put on your reasoning shoes and dial back expectations, always.
Is it just me, or are things pretty much about to go absolutely bonkers? Balloon precursor, Biden act of war on Russia exposed, Biden admin going after musk (for trafficking in pathogens), Congress hearings on Twitter files, FBI-Tech collusion, Weaponization Committee, first half of Biden's SOTU speech being basically a maga ripoff, etc.
I just feel like things are really ramping up, week by week. Too many habbenings, more and more and more.
And I think I like it.
Probably not. People say that all the time and then life just keeps going at a regular pace
The dial is being slooowly turned up. This has been happening for a long time now. It does seem as if the boiling point is near...
Well, yes, certainly the dial has been slow. But a general observance on the pulse of things since the Steal in 2021 tells me that it's not all that slow, but rather, that the pace has been increasingly steadily, more in an exponential curve than in a slow, steady flat line.
You're right, it does seem to be accelerating.
If as Rep. Jamie Raskin said in testimony yesterday that Special Counsel John Durham is done, why is he still a Special Counsel? And, what relationship is there between Special Counsels, like say frinstance, Durham and Hur?
What A clusterfuck SS and Medicare is...
Started collecting my SS at age 62, fine I get less, my full retirement age is 66 and 10 months. I actually retired completely at 59 and moved abroad living on savings. If I'd filed from abroad they want paperwork proving you are still alive every year , but because of Covid-19 Scam-demic I returned to the USA just in time to File here (And vote in 2020) After a year we relocated to another state and since I no longer own property in the USA I had to resume working.
In 2022 I was over the early retirement cap of 19,500 by about 8,000 so they will take half that over the cap back, I'm still paying SS taxes from my Job, and my SS is also income taxable.
I'll be signing up fore Medicare soon as I turn 65 in Sept. and you get penalized if you sign up late. They deduct around 140 bucks from SS for Medicare, and you need a supplemental plan, 2 types to chose from Advantage which is free but really sucks, or Medi-gap which sucks less, but you have to pay a few hundred a month for.
So my SS is 1205 (14,500 a year) but I owe about 1,450 in Income tax, will lose another 4,000 for being over the cap, will pay 140 for Medicare and around 200-300 a month for the Supplemental. Then they take 7.65% from my pay for SS and Medicare...LOL what a clusterfuck.
If things aren't getting better by the 2024 election I'm moving the fuck back to my house abroad, dropping the suplimental, and finding out how to stop them from taking the 140 bucks a month out of my SS, I can live pretty decently abroad on 1,200 a month even though I have to buy international health insurance.
I know a couple who are living out their retirement in Panama, where English is spoken widely and things are cheaper; they bought a condo and worked out the math as best they could. Also know a few who went to South America, but life restrictions and crime are pretty bad in that degenerating-to-socialism country. If you don't mind, where did you go?
Philippines, Wife's country... Most people speak English to some degree. All business is in English Cost of Rent, Services, Rice, Fish is cheap, everything else higher. Was paying 250 for a new 2/1 apt. Haircut 1 buck, fix a flar for 2 bucks plus parts, nails done for a woman 1-2 bucks, rice and seafood half the USA, but gas, electricity, and anything name brand is higher. Most people there earn 7 bucks a day and support others with the money
I know some folks from there, they worked here and sent everything home, huge sacrifice but they hope to retire young. If the country develops a natural fuel source, they'll be invincible.
My brother in law (with wife and adult son) moved to Philippines and lived there for about 15 + years. Said he lived like a king on very little money, large home, maids, etc. The son enjoyed the activity at the local bars, where ladies were in abundance.
Yesterday I heard a comment on a radio station that China wanted their balloon back.

I'm believing it, and it's probably the only reason they are working so hard at getting it back.
Currently warm in our neck of the woods. About 86 Fahr for American pedes, 30c for the rest of us.
Hot day, just about to switch on the cooling. The house we live in has evaporative cooling, which is about 1000 times better than "air conditioning". It cools the entire house, at much less cost, is essentially silent. The only catch is you cannot use it in humid climates, because it is the discrepancy between humidity in the air and humidity in the water that undermines the cooling process. Essentially like wetting a handkerchief and draping it over a rotating fan.
Hang on. A disconnect? My understanding is that humidity in the atmosphere works against the evap coolers. So you need a moderately non-humid enviro for them to work.
Either way, works brilliantly where we are.
Hmmm. Guess we're lucky here in that our humid time of year is the winter, not the summer.
What is on your favorite coffee cup?
I have a Cow sitting on the handle.
National Security Agency
Mine says "LIFE IS GOOD" (yes, all caps).
I've got a few. 😁
Pair of God Bless America ones with wrap around flags. Simple, not elaborate. Big; they hold the most coffee.
A cartoon one in Spanish with a mom in a business suit running out of the house, with a frying pan with an egg in it, a briefcase, a dog chasing her, a cat in the yard yowling, and her two kids holding lunchboxes and a banner that says "Bravo Mama!". She's also about to trip on a skateboard. The headline is "Como tu no hay ninguna". I've appropriated this from my wife. I got her a large soup size mug with "Good Morning Gorgeous" on it in exchange.
A 1970s wrap around cartoon one with a fireman carrying a hose around the circumference of the mug, over a bed of little flames. He's spraying a fire at the end. It says "Fireman " in trippy comic book style flame letters. This is my spiritual warfare mug - based very loosely on Twin Peaks lore.
#1 Dad mug. Though it's small, and right-handed only with the graphics, and I'm a leftie.
"World's OKist Employee" is also in rotation.
Years ago I used to thrift and flip mugs for fun and small profit. This is a subject dear to my heart. 😁
I can visualize all of them LOL! I used to be a teacher, so I have all kinds of coffee mugs myself. I have one with a mouse on it trying to lift a barbell bigger than him that says, "Give me Strength." I used to collect cows also, so I have a bunch with cows on them that my students gave me. The cow loving story: When I was in college, I used to work at a hardware store as a cashier. This guy used to come in ever day and say, "Mujer." and I would say, "Man". I did not know spanish at the time and I would tease him and say, "why are you calling me a cow hide?" One day he brought me a stuffed cow. Of course, we started dating and I started loving cows. LOL. My students loved that story. That was ages ago, but I still love cows and still collect the mugs. I also flip stuff, but now, that is one ONE of the things I do now for my living. I went from teaching Reading to 5th graders to flipping stuff online, at flea markets (whenever I can find one), to growing plants (legal ones LOL) and selling them wholesale. I just got finished putting up four greenhouses. :-) Growing Veggies!
mine says" Live slow, die whenever"
Good Evening everyone... or morning ... or ... afternoon. What ever the case may be.
You are my Fam, Frens, BIG HUG!
Friendship and hugs to you as well 🙏💕🐸
Just came here to say TGIF and glad I didn’t get banned this week. 👍🏻
