The regulation in question was ‘rolled back’ to help smaller banks not get hammered by administrative/oversight costs that big banks could easily afford. If still in place, it would NOT have had an impact anyway. Someone at SVB either was stupid, greedy or egotistical enough to not be concerned with having Zero Hedge. The fact rates were going up was telegraphed loudly and often by The Fed and Powell in particular. How they didn’t plan for that is simply beyond belief…..which makes me wonder if it isn’t by design.
