I would like to ask for prayers for my 39 year old daughter, mother of two (3 and 6), former social worker in hospice for over 13 years. Last October you prayed with me for her because she essentially had a breakdown and was put on family leave for 2 months...due to burnout and trauma from working in this high stress position for so long.
Long story short...on January 17th, in the process of trying to quit, start classes to enter a new profession...she started binge drinking to relieve the anxiety and stress. On a patient visit, after drinking she hit an elderly couple head on...she of couse ended up in jail, lost her job, and is now facing 4 felony counts and many misdemeanor counts.
The couple survived with some injury and are suing her and her employer...but that is to be expected. She is now in rehab for a month (has been there a week) and it is tough being away from the kids...she is having a rough time...the kids miss their mom...they don't understand where she went. The kids got sick so I came to help out...they are improving. Christina also got sick...this is hard on everyone...but necessary.
Anyway, please pray that her and her family are able to endure...our greatest desire is that she will not go to prison for the felonies...but that there is some plea deal and alternative punishment that would be equitable for all. We would prefer no trial...she appears to have a good lawyer.
So short term prayer...the seperation of rehab and long term prayer the legal situation concerning the accident and the civil suit...obviously I am heartbroken...she is such a good person who made a very serious and costly mistake...but I am trusting that God has everything under control and will meet our every need according to his riches in glory...I share the details so you can pray specifically...please put her on your long term prayer list...this is a process...thank you all in advance for your prayers.
Father God, Please lift up Christina and her family up in your kind and loving hands. This demon that she is fighting is strong and unrelenting. We pray that you can wrap her in your warmth and understanding. Give this family strength to carry on and support each other. In your holy name we pray today, Amen.
Much appreciated...
Amen.
Thanks for sharing - I feel for you, sad tale. Will be bringing Christina and your family to the Throne of Grace. In the meantime, may the Lord's love and peace surround you all and bring you closer to Him. Everything that the He allows is for good, stay strong and never forget the Lord loves you all dearly. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
Thank you for those encouraging words...
...mountain tops are glorious...
..but it is in the valleys that all growth occurs...
...praying hard for you and and your loved ones....
You are right...but I so prefer the mountaintops...I do appreciate your prayers and continued support...
...hold the line....
Amen in Jesus's name.
Yes, amen...
1,000 updoots. Valleys are tough.
Amen.
She is lucky to have such a wonderful, patient and compassionate mother. I have a daughter who is 35 and has some issues and I know how it can be. We love our kids unconditionally but it can take a toll. Make sure to set boundaries when you can. My daughter knows I am there for her and she often takes advantage. For me, it’s all about my grandsons and making sure they’re okay. I will pray for your daughter…and will send you strength.
Thank you...children are a blessing from the Lord...usually...thank you for the encouragement and prayers...
Praying for you all, especially the children, who are probably very confused and worried about their mother. Thank God no one got killed.
That is the number one blessing up to now...things would be completely different...thanks for your prayers...
I'm so sorry. I knew from two little comments you made in the past what the basic problem was, and was already praying, but it's no joy to be right.
I just couldn't bring myself to share...too much shock and pain...but then things settle down and you find the strength to move forward and accept the reality of what is...including God's continued faithfulness in all things...would appreciate your continued prayers...
Certainly. She will have a real mental struggle ahead too.
Apparently the coping was the major issue...total burnout...she actually didn't drink for many years...then used it to self-medicate...which never works...some professions just need to have more counseling support...yeah...sad all the way around...the mental/emotional is really the whole of it.
Some professions ought to be left after a short time. It doesn't matter how many people are telling you you are a saint for doing it. Even the saints get burned out. Now she has to face that beating herself up to help clients was destructive to herself and others, that's the burden I mean. But God can even use past mistakes to improve the future and keep that time from being wasted.
Absolutely...when she was off for 2 months they gave her THREE counseling sessions...can you believe it...
I shall include her and her family as well as you in my prayers.🙏🏻
Thank you Penisse...
Heavenly Father, Please hear our prayers for Christina and her family. You know the circumstances Lord and stress that she and her children are under. Please help her through her rehab Lord and help her through the guilt I'm sure she is feeling. Be her voice Lord when it is time to appear in Court and place it upon the hearts of those who are judging her that, "He who is without sin let him cast the first stone." We know that you will walk with her as she suffers through this and we pray the outcome is beneficial for all, especially her children. Please show them mercy. We thank you and bless you in all things as we ask this in Jesus name. Amen.
Amen...
I'm going to pray for her inner peace. Everyone else has everything else covered.
Yes, that is needed...thank you...
🙏🙏🙏
Thank you...
The Lord will never give you more than you can bear. While it looks pretty bleak at times, we must continue to trust and obey the Lord. Our kids will often break our hearts with their poor choices (mine included) but we must show them that there is a better way with Christ Jesus.
I will pray also for the victims of the car accident and her young children who are all innocent in this whole situation. Alcohol is never the solution to anything. Hopefully, she has learned to face life without it. God bless you.
I hate alcohol...thank you so much for praying for the elderly couple...they are Christians...lots of innocent victims..for sure...God bless...
Heart felt prayers to you and your daughter. Have experienced similar with one of my children. God has helped us all, He will help you and your family too.
I appreciate those words of encouragement...
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you...
The Lord's ways are not always understood. I pray you see his plans for all of you. I pray the children can stay strong. I pray Chrisina can endure. I pray you can stay strong for all who need you right now. Most of all, pray all of you look back some day at the period of time you were all being baptized by fire. Lord, please give these people a special grace. Amen.
Much appreciated...
🙏. For all of you.
Thank you...
Prayers going up
Thank you...
Prayers for you and your family.
Thank you...
Been somewhere similar. Keep praying. Never give up. And keep those babies close. They need you.
Thank you...
I think a lot of us here understand what it means to badly be in need a "bailout" from God, I know I have more than once in my life. Prayers going up now.
You are so right...thank you....
Praying for your family. 🙏🏻❤️
Appreciated...
She and your family will be in my prayers.
I appreciate that...
As a parent with children who have made some regrettable decisions, I can relate to your heartache. Christina, you, and all involved in the situation, will remain in my thoughts and prayers. Praying for the perfect outcome. Have faith, He never abandons us in our time of need.
That means a lot...thank you...
Praying for Christina, the kids and you
I appreciate that...add her better half that is holding down the fort!
i pray for your family
Much appreciated!
God heal and protect them all. May she call upon him to open all doors and mend all things that are broken.
Thanks...it's a mess at the moment...
My prayer is to ask God our Father, to help us fins the methods and ways to finally END the Commercial aspects of our Man Made Laws, idiot Laws that only serve to Enrich the Govt., and Government employees, like Judges and Clerks and such....
They do it via BS laws, such as the DWI/DUI Commercial Laws, as they destroy peoples lives and livelihoods, by hoodwink and Graft and swindle, and that God help us all avoid these Man Made Traps, for we do not deserve these Crimes to be thrown upon us....
Yes the whole DUI/DWI has become a big business...it is obvious there needs to be consequences to certain behaviors and the felonies are charges stemming from injuring the couple...
I am not sure what the answer is to everything...I just know we have to deal with the laws that are on the books...we are praying for an equitable plea deal that would not include prison....we will see how that goes...that is such an important desire...we value your prayers...
Thank you
Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on Christina. A sinner.
...saved by grace...thank you...
Prayers on the way fren.
Thank you...
Praying now, fren. I hope you and Christina can find comfort in God's promise of Romans 8:28. ALL things work to good for those who love the Lord. ALL things. I'll be praying for all of you.
Yes we can...thank you...
I just feel under the weight of the Holy Spirit and his love and Joy. I was hit by the spirit recently at a conference in Minnesota that wasn’t even connected to Asbury but it felt similar at times and I got delivered from things and was weeping most of the time. I pray for a similar experience for Christina and that God would have mercy for her situation.
Thank you so much for sharing...the Holy Spirit is the power of God...and yes...we need to not grieve the Holy Spirit...it is the power of God unto salvation...
I have known deliverance and that testimony is so wonderful because God has touched you in a special way...you know it and you feel it and you weep with repentance then for joy at God's mercy and grace... may God richly less you and yours...
We are praying. She should look into the Sinclair method to rid herself of the alcohol addiction.

Thank you...she actually went 2 years without alcohol...then used it to self medicate when her anxiety was too great...which was wrong...she realizes she can never drink again...I think they are using the 12 step program in rehab...I will pass this info along tho...thank you...
