Right from the get-go, I had a strong feeling that Bannon was pooh-poohing on Q and the Anons and all that stuff as part of his role - aka kayfabe.
I reckon Bannon knows that Q is legit, 100%, but he has his mission and was deployed for a reason. He needed to create the right amount of distance between himself and "the Q people" in order to be able to reach out and be a conduit for regular MAGA folks and that whole sector.
In a large-scale military operation like a war, there are many, many diverse teams and elements each with their own assignments. Bannon and the War Room are targeting the regular infantry. Q and the anons are Special Ops, or the Marines.
