Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Coal Creek Canyon is beautiful, I'm jealous of your ride. I'm a CO native but I fled when it became commiefornia. Western slope is where it's at nowadays.
I used to do a lot of work up in Eldora/ Nederland. Drove Coal Creek daily for awhile. I'm so happy that I bailed, I'm sorry you still have to deal with all those libtards
Hit me up if you need an electrician

On this episode we speak with my friend Michelle (ThisIsHowItStarts on communities.win). Michelle and I met about three years ago on .win as she helped support and encourage the idea of the prayer thread which eventually grew into the Prayer Garden. We learn about her difficult childhood which directed her to the path of Christ and salvation. We also discuss how to lean on Jesus when battling depression and how the church can improve when helping one another through that kind of darkness. Ultimately, we hear Michelle's testimony how surrounding yourself with the Word and other believers is the path to victory in Jesus.
Thank you for tuning in! Together through Christ we have endless potential.

So Lordie, why don't people want to work an easy gig for 20 and hour after taxes? I cannot do the moving around and assisting physically the little guy (116 lbs) my son and I care for in our home. I want to give my kid a break on the weekends, so I have been advertising for someone to help hang with the man we care for, watch TV with him, help with walking him, (not alone, I would be there too) maybe go to activities on the weekend, read to him, etc. They would not be preparing meals or be doing housework, I can train them to feed him. There are days he dozes a lot and they just need to be someone with a pulse for 8-10 hours on the days they are here. This is the fourth round of ads I have placed. My son gets paid for personal care and taking him out in the community and appointments from Monday-Friday, under the title "Community Support Person". I get no responses, or people who never show up on time and have a million reasons why they can't come sometimes. All my son wants is a break, and people are not answering an ad which would give them a couple of hundred bucks for an easy job in two days. WTF?
I have a caregiver staff for my mother in law - four of them. Try a nursing student or a CNA looking for some under the table dollars. Ask your healthcare friends. Maybe a high schooler. Good luck!
I have no idea what that means. Maybe that's why you get no takers.
And what is "the little guy (116 lbs)" that you and your son care for? Is it a dog?
You're an ass.
"Gig" is a common name for a job, a part time job. The little guy is the man who lives in our home, I am asking for a person to come and help me care for him, he is disabled and has to have someone with him eyes and ears on while he is up and out of bed, and ears on at night. The person just has to assist me in helping him walk, as I am 73 and cannot have him leaning on me for assistance, but I can do it with another person. Basically they just have to hang out with him, while I do the housework and meal preps and other chores. There is no heavy lifting involved, it is an easy job, the person would be in my home, they can read, watch tv with him, help me get him in the car and take him out and about with his wheelchair. He can stand and walk with assist. It is so my son has some time off, he works with him all week long. No training neccesary as I will be there to train and supervise.
I'd help you out finding someone if you were closer. I hope you find someone, it's tough watching people struggle, I do what I can for my dad and neighbors but I'm in my forties and falling apart too.... ain't the years it's the mileage.
Praying for God to send the perfect person to help you both! Blessings to your family! ๐
Oh thank you so much, and blessings to yours also
Thank you fren! Please keep us updated!
A warning as the old Cabal is destroyed, the Anti-Christ will be able to rise unopposed. Enjoy our short time of freedom and prosperity.
Cabal wants to accelerate so that the antichrist plan works out. It has not worked everytime cabal tries to start the program in history. Even today with Beast system already partially running I do not think they will pull it off. I may be wrong but I believe we will see the precipice, then the awakening, followed by new Republic, and then we will chill until new Kingdom. I believe in one speech Trump hinted at wanting to make the time between now and then as peaceful as possible..so maybe Q team has already neutralized the antichrist design. If you believe the quantum/time theories regarding Q it may actually be the case . Remember a big chunk of Bible has been hidden and also "curated" by men so anything other than Christ is not set in stone.
They wouldn't be in a rush if they were winning.
Anna Paulina Luna should have made Schiff's fine $17 mil in her bill, maybe that would have flown instead of $16 mil???
I watched a YT video of Schiff after the June 14 vote to table. It was titled something something like What Anna Paulina Luna yelled at me or something like that. In it, he said that there will be another round next week.
He also said something about the resolution being a birthday gift to Trump.
Lemme see if I can find the link...
Ah. Here it is:

Reading the back and forth with Massie on Twitter he contends that any fine is unConstitutional however, censure (nothing) and expulsion ARE Constitutional. Let's up the ante.
Found this old article that points to where in the Constitution...

Just woken up after a rather large all-day binge of Tears of the Kingdom. My mind feels refreshed after taking a break from lurking all day on GAW and Truth Social. The amount of hysteria, group-think, and dooming can be a bit overwhelming.
One thing I like about the game is that they placed quite a few more riddles that act like treasure maps, solve the riddle, get rewarded big time.
I would like to have more games that makes me think like that. Helps me with my analysis skills quite a bit.
Wishing all father's a very HAPPY FATHERS DAY.
Me, too Mary...our Father's are essential!
After a week of experimentation, I finally managed to spice up my electronic music making by simultaneously using the modular synthesizer, the Akai MPC and the iPad, thanks for that gem of an app that is AUM.
Hereโs a QuickโnDirty jam from my holiday mancave: Sorting it out https://youtu.be/gI5WQLRdiKM
I like it.
You must have a very "good ear"!...
Good morning Penisse...it seems we are posting music this fine Sunday morning...I cannot say I have a lot of experience with electronic music...Vangelis would be my only experience...being a pianist I am used to making music by actually playing it so it is funny to see music produced using all your electronics...although I do have an electronic keyboard that I can combine presets with a melody line/left hand chords in hundreds of styles which is a lot of fun...the keyboard can practically play itself...
I enjoyed your piece...I haven't a clue what all your equipment is...but evidently you do...and you enjoy doing it...I see a little piano skills...keep practicing...
Hope you give Keiko Matsui a listen...she is excellent...and very prolific...
Have a great day...you sound busy as always...remember even God took a rest..so perhaps this is your day of rest... God bless...
Hello Dear Tweeti e, thanks for giving my musical jogging a listen. The bit of piano was totally improvised and I got it wrong because it was not loud enough to get with the rest and I had to use more force from my recovering finger than I should have, hence the brievity of that bit. ๐ฅณ๐
(Still listening to Keiko Matsui in background.๐ค)
She has been playing for over 40 years and has made about 20 CD's so you never run out of good music...she has gone through different interesting phases also...I play her music when I drive...we are best buds...haha...hope you found someone new to explore...she uses an electronic keyboard usually...she is a terrific composer...
Maybe she can inspire some of your pieces...it is always fun to "create" something novel...I did detect more depth and complexity to your song so maybe it is layering more sounds...just sounded fuller...
My favorite music maker...enjoy...

Praying for all those affected by the storms that just rolled through Oklahoma. Very strong winds. Power interruptions.
Sending prayers! ๐
My dog died a few weeks ago, I'm grieving for her. She was 17 years old , raised her from a pup. I still reach for her or turn around to talk to her. I miss her. She was full of love and joy and I'm struggling with the loss of her.
Sorry for your separation from your fur baby...๐. I know how hard this parting is but i know someday you will be reunited. Our Father doesn't take anything away from us in the next life that we had in this life. Blessings fren! ๐
Thank you, fren.
Thank you. They certainly do.
I understand, and I am so sorry. A good dog can be the closest of companions. Their timeline being so short and ours being longer is so difficult for those of us who understand that special love that they bring. Just know that you gave her a good life and that when she left, all she knew was your love. I will have quite a crew waiting for me on that bridge, and don't even ask me to think about a heaven without them. She runs free and painless now in a place without time. Let yourself grieve and do not let anyone tell you to get over it. We never "get over " big losses, but we do come to accept it and the pain eventually goes away. You can still talk to her, she loves you too and doesn't want you to be in too much pain.
Thank you. I agree , I can't imagine heaven without my furry friends. I think about her and smile then cry. My husband and I have decided to get 2 pups when our grief subsides. We know she can never be replaced but we can love the pups just as much as we do Velvet.
Iโm sorry to hear about your loss. Always remember your pet with love and upbeat memories. They have crossed over the rainbow bridge and will be waiting for you.
Some people say, animals wonโt be in heaven, but I donโt know about that. How could god create dogs and cats that fill in the gaps for human love, and then not have them be in heaven?
I pray that the Lord will comfort you during this time.
Thank you.

Nice! ill have to do a dive into them. Sounds like this band influenced the amazing band Tauk. (Well, their first 4 studio were amazing. Collisions, Pull Factors, homonculus, sir nebula. The new stuff is trash). https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hGGKlOzFbDY

Sounds a little like Brecker Brothers. I've never heard of them until now. Thanks for that. Late '70s fusion music was my bridge to jazz and I still occasionally listen to it.
Grew up with more jazz than fusion but when I discovered a Mahavishnu Orchestra LP in dad's record collection well into my heavy metal obsessed teens I was stunned.
I have 4? Mahavishnu Orchestra CDs. But if you want to be thrilled, go to youtube and listen, with headphones (a must to hear all the intricate details), to the Danish Symphony Orchestras playing of the theme from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"! It is incredible!
Thank you for sharing this...I had never heard of the group and I like everything about it...especially the brass...reminds of Chicago but taken to a whole new level....really, really nice...
Always glad to share music with friends. Over to the UK with Ian Carr's Nucleus:
