I’m probably about to lose my insurance, or change drastically, due to children grown up married/jobs/etc. I had hyperthyroidism, also known as Graves’ disease, about 8 yrs ago. Lost a bunch of weight quickly, was basically dying. Eventually doc fixed me up. But here soon I may be paying out of pocket for what meds I’m currently on. I haven’t brought this up with the doc, and I’ve been smooth sailing since I got regulated those years ago. But does anyone use something off of the shelf perhaps? Something tried and true? I’m currently on 125mcg Levothyroxine sodium.
Just doing some research before I possible get the shaft. They also had me on some blood pressure meds, but I’ve been using that CoQ10 and it seems to have lowered my BP even more. So I wonder if that alone would take care of the blood pressure stuff.
Use Lugol's 5% iodine, Amazon carried it not long ago, but it seems harder to find now. Had thousands of 5 star reviews
I went to a metabolic doctor who treats this through diet alone. He put me on carnivore diet and I lost 54 lbs, got off all meds in a week and am in great health now
This is the way. Hope OP takes this post to heart. Congrats on your improved health.
I always heard iodine is one of the principal elements used by the thyroid. I only know about this due to being a once upon a time radiation worker. Iodine can be easily irradiated and they hand the iodine pills out like candy in areas where a radiation accident has occurred. Apparently it concentrates in the thyroid. Don't want it irradiated.
If that is NOT the case consider this. Low fat/low sodium diets limit the intake if iodized salt, something done since WWI or WWII if memory serves. It boosts thyroid activity, I think. The drug you listed is for hypo thyroidism. Low functionality, not hyper thyroidism.
The iodized salt is not naturally occurring but so many chefs say to use sea salt or some other natural salt. They may be doing individuals a disservice. Iodine is not bad for your health, in other words.
I read someone post drawing a one square inch box on their leg and swabbing iodine on it. If your body needs it, it will absorb it. If not, no harm, no foul. Might be worth a try.
Yea they used some sort of iodine pill with a spot radiation thing, years ago to “nuke” my thyroid. I know it still there and it works a little according to the doc. A few have pointed out that it looks like I could use GoodRx to aid in a no insurance situation for keep getting my current medication. So maybe I will still have some good news. It’s why I came here to ask. I trust all y’all more than my own doctor and the like. They just pump pills.
I used GoodRx for a few years and Kroger was always the lowest price. Kroger is no longer accepting GoodRx because they offer their own SingleCare and the price is always cheaper than GoodRX. You can download the SingleCare App to check prices. Kroger owns a bunch of grocery and pharmacy chains if you have no Kroger near you.
Zechstien sea salt with iodine, have used this for 6 months.
Try Good Rx. Your prescription looks cheap. https://www.goodrx.com/levothyroxine?form=tablet&dosage=125mcg&quantity=30&label_override=levothyroxine
I've been on Levothyroxine (this is the generic) for 25 years. Good Rx is the way to go without insurance. In fact, it was cheaper than my insurance, though I may have had crappy insurance. Nearly all drug stores accept Good Rx. Good luck!
I guess you just pay a monthly fee for coupons or something? Did a bit of research on this and it like $20 a month? And then you get like a coupon for your meds. Which mine looks like it would be about $5 at Walmart. Is that sound about right? So in total $25 a month for my current prescription?
We never paid a monthly fee at all. Just register for an account.
Ahh ic, thank you. 👍
Wow, never heard of this. Ty for posting!

I feel for you… I have MS, POTS and no insurance…. Sometimes we need to go down the long hard road of healing ourselves… search nutraceuticals that will balance the metabolic system… I’m a firm believer that we can do what they say can’t be done… not one person thinks I can heal my double vision… I’m busting my hump to do it and it is not pleasant…( Side effects) you need to get good and pissed off about it and get fight in your belly… prayer and work…
I will be shunned for this, but I get my prescription for Levothyroxine from Amazon for less than $10, for a 90-day fill. I think it's from my Prime account.
I’ll still love you 😁. Looking into right now and your correct. I could get 90 days for around $10. That’s awesome.
It's very quick, too. Takes two days at the most to get it for me.
My wife had this and eventually they removed her thyroid. She is on levothyroxine forever to replace thyroid hormone.
There is no amount of therapy or iodine or anything else that will help at this point.
Wish we had known all the alternatives before she had her thyroid taken out.
Everyone I know over 50 has thyroid issues. Either low, hypothyroidism or high hyperthyroidism.
Something in the environment is causing this.
My speculative guess is the cabal is doing this intentionally somehow.
Fluorine, bromine, and chlorine are all halogens on the elements chart along with iodine. We are bombarded with these other elements, and they fight and win the spot in our thyroids over iodine. The amount of iodine in iodized salt is just enough to keep us from developing goiters, but not enough for our thyroids to function properly or to overcome the amount of fluoride (in water and toothpaste), bromide (in bleached flour products), and chlorine (in town water, pools). Yes, it's on purpose.
I use CoQ10 but just to lower and help BP.
Use glandular therapy not hormone therapy...

Also use iodine to balance thyroid...
Walmart has a list of generic medication you can buy without insurance for $4 a month. Levothyroxine is on the list.
I’ve been on Levothyroxine for a few years now, and will have to take it for the rest of my life (I’m 38 now) due to a hypothyroidism diagnosis. I get it for free from the local pharmacy.
I don't know if any of these work but there are many YouTubes about hypothyroidism and food. Try a search on "hypothyroidism diet plan" in YouTube.
Walmart pharmacy has levo in doses up to 200mcg on their $4 prescription program.
No card, no membership, no paperwork. That's just the price.
Iodine, is the fuel your thyroid gland uses, to produce the hormones that regulate practically every function within the human body. That is the very reason they started putting it into salt. It is an essential nutrient, that almost nobody gets in their diet. I purchase Potassium Iodide online, and use it to make a saturated solution (SSKI). I take two drops daily in water. I am not a doctor, and recommend that you thoroughly research this subject before using any of the protocols that I do. When the thyroid gland doesn't get enough iodine, it goes into overdrive, trying to do it's job. You might also benefit by a very low carbohydrate diet. It has done wonders for me, and many other people.
Synthroid is the original trade name. Levothyroxine is the generic name, and there are several companies that market the generic under different names. Desiccated Armour thyroid is another medication for hypothyroid, a bit different than the levothyroxine. https://www.goodrx.com/conditions/hypothyroidism/armour-thyroid-vs-levothyroxine
Look into potassium iodide. Available in a crystal form which is dissolved to different dosages. Morgellonsdirect.com.
Beef thymus Methylene blue
I'm gonna suggest you do some research on urine therapy. I know that sounds crazy, but I know someone who was completely destroyed by longterm lyme disease, a mass of other confections including having hypothyroidism and is healing. He also uses something called cell salts that he gets on Amazon. There is a Facebook group called UT for Lyme if you are on Facebook. It has been the coolest thing ever to learn. May sound a little gross but it is life changing. I'm doing it and it has helped detox me of parasites, restore energy, and regulate hormones. Best of luck
Look into MMS (Haven't see any thing directly related to Thyroid but cure many things) https://www.brighteon.com/3b27eb80-14c4-4eaa-a20c-c5a020314ebe

I switched from Levothyroxine to Amour Thyroid a few years ago. It is a bit more expensive, but much more dependable.
