Bought what I was comfortable paying for, earlier this year. I probably paid more than I needed to, but at the time, price was secondary when considering fiat which could become worthless at any time. It's not much, but I can dream what it might be worth one day.
If it's gold backed you can invest in it by buying gold.
Also important to understand: if you can't exchange gold for it, or cash it in for gold, it's not gold backed.

Bit baffled by this. Investors are really reluctant to trust Russia because it is a kleptocracy. Brazil is politically unstable, and China and India hate each other and are more likely to go to war than merge their gold reserves to back a new currency
