Speaking from personal experience, being sheltered from reality definitely has its upsides and its downsides.

Ive found it helpful to frame our DC as a Real World version of the Emerald City of Oz ie DCs actual power is an illusion designed to keep viewers from realizing that they are the only ones who have the power to deal with their problems.
As long as viewers expect the Wizards of DC to solve those problems, those problems will NEVER be solved.
Additionally many DC " scum people" are, as Q pointed out, compliant due to blackmail or fear for loved ones.
Thankfully, more and more people are realizing this, grabbing a bucket of water and joining Trumps Water Brigade so they can help him melt the DC Witches and free their Winged Monkeys.
yes I do too. and even wonder if some of them are CGI, etc. not necessarily Kayleigh, but the characters with smaller parts. how many of US have actually seen these people in real life, it wouldn’t be that difficult to fake some of this…
