From Harvard and MIT prospective I can give you a one word answer:
GRANTS
It's not just grants, it's also "publish or perish." It's both ends of the process that are controlled. Of course it's not just the "ends," it's also everything in between, like the graduate school process, the tenure process, etc., along with the external systems that reinforce the narrative (media, system of experts, etc.), but that's a longer discussion.
Relevantly, all of the money, and all of the publishing companies for science (and everything else) were all created by, and are still provably controlled by, the same organization (all directly linked to Rockefeller and Rothschild). This includes not just all private "philanthropic" organizations, but the government organizations that perform those functions as well.
You PERFECTLY nailed all of the issues, in two brief paragraphs. And honestly...I don't know we ever break this cycle of corruption in academia. I often wonder how much "better" it was attending college in the early 1900s or late 1800s. At least there was a bit more objectivity on campuses back then.
We break it by doing what used to be done: Demanding honesty, hearing criticism, building your arguments so that even a layman can repeat the steps you took to reach your conclusions -- and understanding that accepted science is not absolute science, as we discover new things every day that creates questions about or outright invalidates old science.
As well as, yes, stopping with the "grants" because "grants" are demonstrably just there to come to conclusions that the person giving wants.
We only fix it by ousting people from the field when they refuse to hear questions about their methodology or results, and shunning people who rise to their defense by saying that we aren't smart enough to "get" it.
Almost right up until Louis Pastuer comes along, injects pulped organ tissue directly into the brains of dogs and uses their subsequent death as proof of viral pathogenicity, plagiarizes the work of other scientists, outright lies about the outcomes of several of his own experiments (proof is in his journals, donated to Biblioteque Nationale of Paris), and publicly denounces and shouts down anyone who questions his conclusions.
Yup, money has wholly corrupted academia.
On the contrary, what we call "Academia" was created by the same people. The system of experts represented by "Academia" was created specifically to control science and thought. It hasn't been "honest" since it was strictly for the Elite (prior to the 1910s or so). Even then it was controlled, just less so, or rather, in a different way.
None of this is about "money," except in that that is a useful tool for control of the system they created.
I could not possibly agree moreā¦ Itās been their Stated goal to Control education from the onsetā¦ This WAKEY WAKEY process will be intolerable if not impossible for Those who, to be accepted and lauded, swallowed this pill of deception !!!
^^^^^This.
Grants from the CCP, no less.
All filtered through NGOs so it looks legal.
Because the news said so!š Also Doctors are no smarter then us guys, u have to be your own advocate. They are very tunnel visioned, even if money isnāt involved.
The PhD process has been severely watered down over the past few decades. When I was getting my PhD, in the '90s, I met another PhD student from Berkley (geology), whose dissertation involved going to a single outcrop, collecting samples, doing geochemical analysis of the samples, and writing it up. This was barely an MS thesis level project; more akin to an undergraduate senior project! This was not an exception to what was, and continues to be, pumped out as PhD worthy research! Combine the minimal effort required with the leftist indoctrination they received as undergraduates (graduate level sciences, other than "climate change" related, are mostly void of politics), and it's no wonder "science" is in the state it is today.
Real science is anathema to politics. Because it deals in evidence, falsification, and searching for the best description of natural laws - all of which are rarely seen in politics.
You'd think a pure science like 'mathematics' would be immune to the influence of politics. Alas, no. Math is racist, obviously.
Love this, shared to FB with the "explain it to me like I took the shot for a donut" š¤£š š
Once the pregnant man emoji makes sense, you have an epiphany.
Me trying to figure out how to hold a coffee cup with my foot.
I came here for this comment!
I went to Harvard for my undergrad degree, and it was a shit show.. One of the biggest regrets ever. Ya'll should've seen this little southern girl have her eyes opened for her in Boston.
wE bUH-LeEf in ScIEnse! Except of course the parts about biological sex or global warming. We just ignore those parts.
I have an example:
