I'm a Conservative and I own a Prius, does that make me a Democrat? I bought it because it was larger than my Geo Metro and gets the same gas mileage. But I do have a Ford F-150 and a Nissan Armada in the driveway right next to the Prius. I'm so conflicted.

That's all right, I'm a conservative, and I drive a Subaru. Most of the vehicles on the road around here during the winter are either Subaru's or giant 4WD pickup trucks.

No, the math isn't correct on that one. You seemed to assume that oil companies made all those profits solely on gasoline sold in the US. There's a lot more digging to do than that.

Which then makes me wonder what taxes (or other proceeds) the gov't gets when oil is sold overseas...
Just think of how much the gov gets!
Tech companies shoot for a 65% margin. Oil companies do more for the world than any tech company could. Remember - plastics are a petroleum product.
