Most of these shows are getting reruns on various 90's channels on Pluto TV, can check for yourself. I haven't seen anything notably sinister in Rugrats, for example. I know Double Dare and the Temple also get rerun on pluto

There was a scandal involving Rugrats making and passing around sex scenes they drew of the characters.. loved the show too as a kid but the whole show and style seems a bit off and raunchy now, for sure they slipped in adult jokes as well.
Waaaaaaay back in the early 90s when id get home from work & turn on the tv waiting for the local news, there was a brief kids show (sorta like the old bozo the clown show) featuring some hawt blonde chick from brazil her name was XUXA or something. sounded like one of the demons from the necronomicon. on one particular show, she was trying to kiss some little boy on the cheek. he wanted nothing to do with it. she started screeching 'let me give you my mark' a week later, the show was of the air & big bad beetle borgs was on instead.

So glad I'm in my 50s and didn't grow up with this crap. Disney was bad enough.
My mom wouldnt let us watch any of that stuff because she said the kids were all getting exploited. When I was younger I thought she was a bit nuts. I realize now that she is just really tapped into the Holy Spirit.

The green slime AKA gunge orginally came from a show produced in Canada in 1979 called "You Can't Do That On Television". The then fledgling Nickelodeon network picked it up in 1981.
It was a sketch comedy show with a teenage cast. If one of the cast members said the words "I don't know" they ended up getting green slime dumped on their head.

There’s a good documentary series on Investigating Discovery called the Dark Side of Kids TV. Most of it deals with Nickelodeon.

Everyone here needs to watch Quiet on Set, the four part series about the production of these trash Nickelodeon series. You see why Ariana Grande turned out the way she did. These kids are just treated as property. Everyone knew what was going on, but no one did anything about it as long as the network was making money.
You're right to be suspicious. Netflix is bought and paid for, they HAVE to be because all of the bought-and-paid-for internet service providers will screw with their service otherwise and ruin them. They're already struggling thanks to the Covid lockdowns causing big media corporations to try and jump into the 'streaming' model, and claiming their stuff back from Netflix. All Netflix has anymore is comedians, TV series nobody cares about, documentaries(!) and "Netflix originals" or "Live action remakes" of animes. You know, where they insert left wing politics into Japanese cartoons, give them live actors, and generally do everything short of dragging the creator of the show out and take a steaming dump in his mouth.
