There is no rapture. That end times position was completely fringe and virtually unheard of until about 200 years ago with the publication of the Schofield reference Bible which was the first Bible that had any type of footnotes in it that spread this ludicrous position into the mainstream that's known as darbyism.
Unfortunately this Bible was widely adopted by pastors, preachers, and seminaries.
In my opinion that's the greatest lie the devil ever told. Churches and people that have been thinking they're going to be swept up in the sky for the past few generations haven't been taking Dominion over every aspect of the world as they were instructed. No one polishes brass on a sinking ship. Christians just operate in their little cul-de-sacs.
All we have left is final judgment where the wicked is removed from the earth just like in the days of Noah while those that were in Christ which is clearly symbolic of the ark, remain in the world is restored to the garden.
All of your destruction language in the book of Revelation (written prior to 70 AD) which is approximately half quoted from the Old testament, was about the upcoming destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. That's over.
Let's go back to what Christians believed for about 1800 years and reject this lie that we lose down here. We don't.
God's favorite Bible verse is the Father saying to Jesus "sit in my right hand while I make all your enemies your footstool" That verse appears more times in scripture than any other. Basically "God wins"

After that date, as far as I know, it was heavily backed financially and promoted throughout the US by some very unscrupulous people with their own agenda.
THAT is why it was so widely adopted. Same pattern as the Rockefeller takeover of history and academia.

I noticed there are a few downvotes: some of us hang on to our beliefs regardless of facts that may contradict them.
The rapture idea directly undermines the motivation of believers to change this world and take responsibility for it as God's representatives, as members of the Body of Christ.
One thing that blows it out of the water though, is a much clearer grasp of what resurrection actually is: a spiritual phenomena of being restored back to spiritual life expressed symbolically in scripture. (for example, in the book of acts it describes that after the resurrection of Jesus, many saints of the old testament 'resurrected' and "walked among the people of Jerusalem...."
So where are they? Where did they go? as far as I understand it, because of the action of the Holy Spirit, the spiritual sense of many were opened in a temporary basis and they say how the saints in the spiritual dimension were being resurrection with Jesus to a higher spiritual level that Christ opened via the cross.
I agree. I didn't go into too much detail because I just wanted to keep it simple for the 90% of people that are completely unfamiliar with this fact.
But yeah, there's a lot of weird stuff attached to the shift in biblical eschatology.
It definitely feels like a push from a person or group that had an agenda to change the way Christians think and interact with the world.

100% Not one verse in the scriptures gives credence to the rapture. I never thought of the teaching as a way to placate the masses however I believe you are spot on there as well.

That makes complete sense. If Revelation was written after the fall of Jerusalem you would think, I mean I would assume, somewhere in the text they would mention the destruction of the temple. Its really mind blowing how many people think that is end times and it was something that happened almost 2000 years ago. Then again, maybe not.

I have never liked political dynasties.
The US does not have a 'royal' family or preordained presidents.
They already pushed this with the Kennedys.
And Bushes... and almost Clintons too.
I dont care if they are Trumps or not. No more dynastic presidents!
That should just be enough to bring me to the end of my well-earned retirement, and on to the next adventure.
Hell to the NO!!! That's part of the problem we've found ourselves in. Too many "dynastic families" in politics with all of them being [DS] proxies. We're not gonna be able to properly and fully eliminate the [DS] without it looking like a quasi genocide. So there needs to be limitations set on how many members and generations from a family serving in ANY political OR bureaucratic office.
A lot of people have a problem with a Trump dynasty, here and on Patriots.
Yet no one seems to have any idea who actually comes after Trump now. It's only 4 years after all.
