The reality is that today's Demwit Party is NOT the Democrat Party of the past. Once they stood for something that was somewhat wholesome, although they were quite naive as to how to achieve their ideals. Back in the days of JFK, LBJ, and the Democrat Party that my mother belonged to had lofty ideals, such as ending poverty... by redistributing wealth in this country. They saw a problem and made a monumentally wrong solution to deal with it.
If she were alive today, my mother would scream and run away from the obscenity that the Demwit Party has become, and she would be ashamed that she ever affiliated with it.
I suspect more and more people are beginning to feel the same way.
They continually sold their souls for votes. Decided having power and wealth was better than fighting for their own values. Ended up with zero values. Just a continual catapaulting of beliefs farther and farther away from reality.
And that's not all folks, our reps don't represent, they lie, cheat and steal and that dims and repubs.
Exactly! It's been like this for a long time now -- the Dems haven't been a sane or decent political party since I-don't-know-when -- but FINALLY, large numbers of lifelong Democrats are waking up to the reality.
Same with my family. My father worked for many Democratic campaigns but he was a veteran and a patriot. He would not recognize today's Democratic Party.
I was a Dems until 2nd term of Obama also.

My 93-yr-old mother, still alive, STILL rabidly supports the Democratic party! Far too many of the people who grew up with the old Democratic party can't see how much it has changed; it's the frog in the kettle phenomena.
Yeah, I have a brother and a niece like that... too damned stupid to see the corruption and evil in their party.
I have a brother that is one of those frothing at the mouth anti-Trump people. It's pretty scary to think of how many millions of people there are that are like him!
Something I failed to mention about my brother and niece. He was involved in a bad industrial accident several years ago that left him brain damaged. Naturally, since he cannot engage in critical thinking and abstract ideas like the Laffer Curve or Economics 101, he is forever stuck in the 1980s and is a Democrat.
My niece grew up in a quite dysfunctional home with a father (my sister's husband) who was into every 1960s-70s New Age thing that came down the pike... open marriage, recreational drugs, nudism, bohemian lifestyle... no wonder she turned out weird.
I would check his voting record, is he waking up or infiltrating????

Article IV Section 4 clearly states what kind of government we are guaranteed. A Republican form of government where the people are represented by those who (should) serve the interests of the people and where the minority has a voice.

I was supporting Obama the first term thinking someone who brings a different perspective might be able to correct the course. Damn mistake for me. The second term, oh, I dreaded him and didn't even vote. Then Hillary calling us Deplorables. That's it.
