I was in Mexico Beach 4 days after Michael hit and the devastation was amazing. Even further inland in Mariana, it was bad. But it's nothing like what I'm seeing out of WNC. I'm 90 miles east of the impact zone here in NC, and see all the private air traffic, occasional MIL traffic.. Tons of vehicles with trailers full of supplies flowing into the region. There's hope in the people, but not with the USG.

Trump is subject to overstating things from time to time. But I can tell you he is understating this. I have friends and family that live in Western North Carolina, and they state it is like a war zone. And no help on the horizon. There is some help with groups like the Cajun Nany and the Mountaineers. But the diameter is so large it is going to take all hands on deck just to get people out and to safety.
