That or they grabbed his balls and tied him to the fencepost during his IRS issue.

Would think those strings were cut if that’s the case, but who knows?

Considering his age, using a confused or out of touch old man sounds rather likely. Maybe somebody just lied to him? Elder abuse?

Yep he's like my uncle, whines about the woke stuff in media but ignores that it's his own party that is behind it acting like they're still on the same platform as 30 years ago. Some people's minds definitely seem to just "crystalize" at a point.

It's funny to me, how country music fans consider his music to be "Outlaw Country," when he is clearly not an outlaw, but just an old hillbilly hippy who sold his soul for a little bit of fame and money.

As soon as I found out he was an outspoken lefty, I quit listening to any of his crap. Change the station or skip to the song. Zero tolerance policy for me.

It was called “Outlaw” because they found a way to publish from Texas outside the Nashville industry.

Most Christian music is captive to those same companies and ownerships. Virtually all pop/rock/rap/etc.

Willie’s fall is sad.

I never liked the hippies, but mostly they seem to have been an idealistic but stupid generation who got swindled when they were young and stupid by using that idealism (people my age are now considered boomers, but we were born about a decade too late to join in that movement, and we weren't actually counted into the boomer generation back then).

And because back then researching anything was a lot harder, and most of the MSM was already compromised.

So these days I am more willing to just feel sorry for them. As it seems that a lot of them really seem to have been idealists who wanted to do the right thing, they were just stupid and easily led, ending up doing exactly what "the Man" they thought they were rebelling against wanted them to do.

And a lot of them have never figured that out. Or they just don't want to. Finding out that you were actually working for your enemy the whole time has to be one of the hardest things in life to acknowledge, especially so many decades after the fact that you no longer are able to do anything about it. Or at least of what you did for most of your life. So a lot of them will not see because they can't stand to see.

Having served in the US Army from 1995-2005, learning that I was actually working for the cabals war machine was hard to say the least. I went through all the stages of grief and made my peace years ago.

Reminds me of someone's story of working for a company where a hippy guy who had been there for some time one day asked what the stuff he had been working on was used for. After he was told they were targeting system components for B-52 bombers he pretty much just went catatonic and silently walked out of the factory never to be seen again.

The Hippie Movement was likely created by CIA drug ops. There's a civil rights activist (forget his name, he was portrayed in "Forrest Gump" as the guy with the American flag shirt) who was quoted (paraphrasing here) "we were gaining momentum then suddenly we were flooded with all these morons who were obsessed with sex and drugs. Where did all these hippies come from?" Feels a lot like how Occupy Wall Street was quickly infiltrated by the identity politics types within a week to derail it and distract the public from the actual message of the movement.

– Akka 2 points 1 year ago +2 / -0

Yes. I have known that for some years now. Found about it because, as said, I thought the hippies were stupid even as a teenager, so I'm afraid I was kind of looking for confirmation about that for years. I don't remember where I first ran across that theory anymore.

And I thought they were stupid because they mostly seemed to be focused on behaviors that destroyed things which had worked well enough for generations, not on building something.

You'd think he would have been one of the rebels who fought against this crap. I was just watching a video of Prince and I never gave him credit for being a hero. He actually had parties of his own after Diddy started the party scene. Prince stayed away from Diddy. Prince's parties were young entertainers only, no production people. They shared ideas and he taught them what to watch out for, and he warned them to stay away from Diddy parties. He was killed for that.

Agreed. Prince is my all-time favorite musician. I can't think of anyone who had his range, drive, mastered as many instruments as he did, wrote so many songs for other people that were absolute hits, and put a religious element into his songs after he woke up. He stopped playing certain songs after a point, like Darling Nikki, and even changed "The Cross" to "The Christ". I heard he was a Jehovah's Witness and went door-to-door just like the rest of them had to do. Can you imagine him showing up at your door?

I don't know if he was killed though. After all of the years of him doing the crazy dance moves and wearing the costumes with his purple high heels he developed really bad arthritis with back, neck, and knee pain and was on opioids prescribed by his doctor. In the end I heard he wasn't prescribed enough to quell his pain so he "got help" getting more (kinda like Elvis did). The difference is - fentanyl exists now. If he stopped performing and got the surgeries he clearly needed his performing career would've ended. It ultimately did anyway, but I don't think he expected the reason to be a fentanyl overdose.

I blame the doctors and the government for restricting opioids because of the risks of overdose. The doctors clearly knew he needed more or stronger pills simply by looking at his x-rays and MRIs. The doctors are terrified of losing their licenses now if they even prescribe any opioids so people that have severe pain look for meds elsewhere. I remember in the late '90s and early 2000s my doctor would call in vicodin for me any time I needed it. If Flexeril and Motrin wouldn't work I'd take my vicodin and it would always take the edge off my pain so the Flexeril could work again. I did this for 5 or 6 years until I finally found out I had multiple herniated discs in my neck that were causing the pain, and got the surgery.

I could've ended up like Prince if my doctor didn't prescribe me those pills. I always took the lowest dose, wasn't addicted to them, and didn't take them again for a good 10 years until I had my coccyx (tailbone) cut out from another old military injury. I took them for about a week - as many as I wanted - and was done. I had extenuating circumstances though, which included taking 2 flights twice a week (2 hrs each) to get to my job across the country. It took me 8 pills to get there on Monday, broken out every couple of hours - but only 2 total to get home on Friday. The next Monday I had them with me just in case but didn't need any the whole week. It's impossible to find a doctor that would even consider that anymore - hence the overdoses.

– HardWorkinPatriot 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

The doctors freely gave the vicodin knowing the dangers of addiction. Then the people who got addicted sometimes went for the cheaper drug, heroin. The drug and medical communities knew the dangers, and it was all orchestrated.

I never liked Willie and his hippie cowboy shtick. He always struck me as slimy. And when I was a kid in the '80s, my grandpa hated Willie and would turn him off any time he came on the radio. He refused to let one of his songs play. He loved Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and all those guys, but he detested Willie Nelson. Grandpa was right.

I just hate the people it tends to attract, like certain genres of music where I might like the band but won't go to a concert because I don't want to deal with their other typical fans. I think the saying goes "love X, but hate the scene."

When I was still in the Air Force years back I went to a Pink Floyd concert on a Friday (along with hundreds of other military stationed at various places in the same area). On Monday I went to see the 1st Sgt and asked him if we had to worry about an unscheduled pee test, and he told me he was there as well. Nobody was getting tested or we would all fail. The outdoor concert was like being in Snoop Dogg's car - weed smoke everywhere.

All they do is blackmail or offer huge sums of money.

This campaign is so poorly run, it seems like it's on purpose. Any one of us would've run a better campaign. Kamala repeating the same bullshit in obvious fake accents? Cmon man.

Makes me think, is this really a frikken movie? Hard to tell, but if this is a movie, well done.

I don't see the point of burning stuff that you already own, they already have your money anyway. When I ditched Metallica back in the day I sold my CDs used to someone else, at least I got some money back and it meant a few less royalties to the band than if the dude had bought his own new copies.
