can't wait for all of those people who have not had to really work for a paycheck to fulfill the jobs of those illegal immigrants getting deported soon
My Dad has worked 50 years. Just got screwed over and unfairly lost his job, from a boss that teased him with nonexistent raises and told him just a few weeks ago he was like family. The she fired him with zero remorse and no reason. He turns 65 next month and was trying to work until at least 66 to get as much SSA as he could without working himself to death.
Now we’re applying for unemployment, food stamps, and Medicaid as well as SSA.
The amount of info they demand, the amount of hoops you have to jump through for a fraction of the paycheck you could barely get by on in the first place is insane.
Yet we have these murderous, raping, pet eating, thieving pieces of shit illegally entering our country having to give zero information and getting $15,000.
It’s infuriating. I hate this government and what’s been done to our country.
Just for context: NZ Local Government has been undergoing a severe prune, but they undertook to keep all 'operational' staff (i.e. all those who actuallty Do service). So a lot of middle management (30%?) got the axe.
The idea of doing away with entire agencies is nice.
And decentralizing some agencies out of D.C. area into Red State areas.
Then again I am wondering if this type move would be a double-edged sword. Is it better to have a massive bureaucratically polluted blue voting population control only 3 electoral votes, or risk spreading that pollution into a red states like Florida-30 and Texas-40 electoral votes.
Well I approve of decentralization, and more autonomy. Especially if they employ locals, not imports from DC.
To do it efficiently, one would take into account travel-time and accomodation costs (which can be extremely fungible, as it totally depends on what is considered acceptable, and without proper oversight all sorts of mores can be packed in).
Employing locals means less of that sort of thing. And in that case, moving an agency to a red state would be a brilliant idea.
Just a FINE point on your screed...Why does there have "travel time accounted for"????
In this day and age they can't do video conferencing along with sending the transcript of what they are talking about BACK TO DC?????
NO TRAVEL...All done via video AND the Inspector General's office doing inspection on ALL agencies ONCE a YEAR...If Improvements made...Once every 18 months BUT NO LONGER!!!!!!!!
Don't forget these people will be collecting pensions and unemployment benefits. Those who have not been wise will be defaulting on mortgages and unsecured loans. And local governments will absorb them because that's what they do so the festering pustules of bloat will be transferred locally.
Yes there is a scapegoating that goes on that targets local communities in that way, when it comes to corruption fallout. Ultimately it means We the People pay.
I'm betting their pensions and unemplyment bennies are going to get the axe, too. They've done basically nothing in their cushy bloat jobs so they get nothing in return.
No. They'll keep them. Unions. Unless they're exempt employees. And health benefits and union life insurance. We pay for it all. Oh! And pay downs for vacation days, personal days, sick days and comp time.
Not only the Federal level but even states need to be shrunk down. I'll go further municipalities and counties.
I live in a very 'conservative' area of Western NC and you better believe it is very corrupt here. The size of the Sheriff's office and the municipal police is just insane. We have a fairly low crime rate, and would have zero if they'd just lock up real criminals and throw away the key. We wouldn't need to live in a police state if the law was upheld.
At no time should any state or county be able to go into someone's bank account and take my so-called owed tax money out. It should be illegal to do that. If the state would just tax the super rich, and fund everything else through bonds we wouldn't need all these taxes to keep up their corruption.
The government at all levels is way out of control more than ever before.
The problem I foresee is the disconnect between any cancellation of agencies and the legislation which created the functions. Properly, one would enact a nullification of the original enabling legislation, and then the agency would go "poof." They can probably do much by comparing the requirements of the enabling legislation against the work patterns of the agency, and boil things down to the bone. One might also apply the principle that, if a function has been legislated which is not within the specified powers of the Legislature, it is null and void. By this means, the ATF could be eliminated (with some possible question over matters pertaining to alcohol and the 21st amendment).

We’re seeing firsthand how unfair this system is.

Totally unfair. I hope all ends well for him. Maybe (hopefully) this election will fix many things wrong in this country and crazy world we live in.
Praying for your Father and family fren..🙏
Um, could he be a good choice for VP when JD takes over as POTUS?
Like a bandaid baby!

You definitely don't want to be living in a town that is HEAVILY populated with Federal employees!
But that is one way to cause housing prices to drop, at least in those areas.

That's the way it is NOW. I get that. I'm thinking BOSS enters the game and destroys all of it. Make 'em live like the rest of us.

Merit hired you stay, nepotism, whose your daddy, whose your mama? You go.
Ow!
The underside of this desk is really COLD!
Entire agencies --- I like ----- better than your odd/even bullshit.
