One problem. They don’t need to trade with America. They trade within themselves. They can buy oil/gas from Russia. Education from Russia. Anything, including chips from China. Fruit and vegetables from Asia. Cars etc from China. The African nations (as they continue to kick out France etc.) will stabilise their countries and they have rare earth minerals, gold, silver etc. Africa will become rich in many areas and have no use of American goods. It’s a trading network. The idea was to be self sufficient and many have achieved this. BRICS nations are sick and tired of being sanctioned because they didn’t want to go to war here, or join an organisation there. I think it’s about time that America look after America. They don’t need to be going to war on a whim. They have plenty of things within America, especially education, to fix.

Hmm, not crazy about this stance. But I get it. The only way for this to happen is for people, countries, to “want” to invest in America again. Right now we are a bad deal. Really bad. But we got the tools, the manpower. America really needs to look at what we can do again, and America would do amazing things. And others would want to do business again. They would want to include us anyway they can. America doesn’t just need to change within. We need a change for how the rest of the world sees us. Currently we are a warmongering, financially broke, most corrupted, just straight up ridiculous leadership, declining on the verge of a revolution nation. We got the right team going forward. But my gosh. We got a massive road ahead, imo. Honestly it seems overwhelming. It’s like cleaning a parking lot, full of manure…using a spoon.

He needs to get the Fed treasury and Wallstreet to stop manipulating the dollar. The entire world is being screwed by these central banks.

Wallstreet behavior is what created the need for bricks. Debasement of the currency.

Don't think it's the Fed or Wallstreet anymore.

Europe has been abusing offshore dollar markets by basically creating more dollars out of things air, hence the term "Eurodollar" They're IOUs basically, but up until Powell, the Fed has just gone along with it.

In a way, these have helped prop up City of London and the ECB's credit export business.

Thanks. BRICS issue is the western central bank fuckery. They said it’s economic colonialism and doesn’t benefit anyone asides from the elite bankers. Trump has to get these central banks under control. Life on this planet has been miserable since 1914.

Notice he says "Dollar" and not "Federal reserve note"

The dollar can be anything the president says it is

That's what I replied on X. I assume when Trump says "dollar" he's talking about an upcoming Treasury Dollar, and not a Federal Reserve Note.

BRICS nations have complained about weaponization of the dollar, illegal sanctions and the swift money transfer system.

I’m can’t agree with potus on this stance. The reason why bitcoin is skyrocketing is because everyone wants away from this inflation and currency debasement.

I can.

A strengthening US dollar will make it harder to make in America vs foreign market.

Tarrifs will make it less competitive selling into the US market. So if they're trying to undercut American made they're funding the American government making life cheaper for Americans.

Imagine the government doing infrastructure projects because it has too much money.

IMHO, it would be better to align with the BRICS nations than to have tariff wars with them.

Stop fucking shilling for BRICS. China is pioneering this shit to try and replace the US currency with RMB. Almost all of the countries in BRICS are simply exporting their inflation to China. It's why the real estate market, middle class and business class in China has collapsed.

Many people, even those on GAW, still react to every statement Trump makes as if they know better than he does, and as if he doesn’t say things all the time to create negotiations and set narratives.

So, besides (empty) threats & debt, what does the US have to offer to global markets?

This is not 1900.

▲ 1 ▼
– bootyjuice 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

I'm pretty sure that's exactly the point. Expand your thinking.

For decades now, manufacturing has left to go to overseas. Only to produce cheaper goods to import back into the US, making it impossible to compete with American made goods. So there goes jobs and entire industries that we used to have, gone. This is the problem.

So how do you remedy this? By making those goods too costly for that business model. So now companies have to make a choice. Either completely miss out on the American market, or they bring manufacturing back to the US, which brings back the jobs, and goods to potentially export. You got to remember, America at its peak was a manufacturing power house. And companies and shareholders are driven by maximizing profits and cornering markets, they don't hold any allegiance to countries or politics. They exist to make money.

Trump is simply trying to bring back what is tried and true, that worked in the past and still does today. It's very basic economics really. That's why the boomer generation is the wealthiest and the currency was still gold backed. That's why american made products from that era are some of the highest quality and built to last because companies back then actually had to compete, but by flooding the markets with cheap goods, by making the highest quality products they could better than their competitor. Hell, my grandmother who is 94 years old still has a fridge and a separate freezer from when my father was born in her garage, and they work perfectly even now. Meanwhile I'm having to replace my fridge every 6-7 years or so because they are made like crap with plastic components.

Sure but what you say, and I agree with it, has NOTHING to do with what Trump said.

He wants to maintain the dollar status as reserve currency and is threatening BRICS countries (which are PRODUCERS, and some of which like Russia are essentially self-sufficient) with...sanctions (?) if they try to replace the dollar.

That's the thing: that's an empty threat. The producer countries don't need the US which PRODUCES NOTHING, and they don't need to be attached to a dollar THAT HAS BEEN USED AS A WEAPON AGAINST THEM.

So what is Trump threatening them with? More sanctions? KEK.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– bootyjuice 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

I think it does because he's not one to make empty threats, and that point is where we disagree. So with that in mind, what can we interpret from the tweet?

I think he is implying that most of those countries (at this moment) NEED to maintain trade with the US. If I had to take a guess as to why, the US market probably makes up the largest part of their GDP, and without it, they would be up shits creek. They don't need us for producing, they need us for consuming. They NEED us to continue purchasing their goods (at this current time). The same way we NEED them to continue trade in dollars so we're not the ones up shits creek. Sure, they could trade amongst themselves... but I'm willing to bet it wouldn't be nearly enough to offset losing the US market at this stage of the game. Have you seen the price of imported produce in Russia, lol? Think about it, do you really think the average Russian is going to pay 4$ for a single mango or avocado? Forget about it. Those south american countries need us right now the same way we need them, until we can get off fiat and back to a dollar that's backed by something to restore balance in the markets. Then it can't be weaponized. But for that to happen, we need more time. We have to clean up our own house first and patch some wounds before we try to cut off the head of the beast.

▲ 7 ▼
– MatildaJ 7 points 1 year ago +7 / -0

I believe fiat will become obsolete and there will be a basket of currencies, including gold, silver etc. and crypto. The BRICS nations have enough of everything and can just trade within themselves. I love President Trump and what he stands for but whoever is advising him on BRICS needs to be sacked.

He is going to be stumped at every turn. We’re watching it happen!! The guy Kellogg that has been chosen to negotiate with Ukraine and Russia makes comments like ‘that suits Ukraine. There is no Ukraine! It’s over for them. Do you really think Russia is going to allow Ukraine, lead by an illegal puppet to dictate conditions that go back a decade? Putin will not be fooled a second time.

He’s Is and has been loyal and I don’t mean to be ageist but he’s 80. I listen to Colonel Douglas MacGregor and he says from time and time again, there are lots of older leaders in the Pentagon that want to ‘relive’ WW2. It’s a whole different ballgame. They want to relive their ‘glory days’ of camaraderie and danger etc. but it’s all push button now. Putin under the Education/University programs have a drone school. They are developing drones that the world hasn’t even thought of. The incentives are huge. Any fighter in the current Military when their service is over when they reach a certain age, if they want they can retrain into a different trade for free. On top of this, if they have any children, those children can pick whatever they want to study, for free.

The BRIC would devastate this country. But, we deserved everything we got; because we (Biden) printed billions of dollars to give away, ran reckless debt and devalued the USD.

These other countries simply wanted the currency they depend upon, to be stable. We gave them the means, the weapon and the motive for them to do what they did.

This is what happens when DEMS run cities, states and nations - they decimate them, because of a mixture of stupidity, incompetence and corruption.
