Wasn't there a time when Trump was giving a speech while sipping from Fiji water?

Edit: found it:

Yes, he was sipping Fiji water holding his wrists together. There was a man who had said he was once in military intelligence, who said that indicated to the Fiji water people " We have your man in handcuffs" There was a story that Fiji Water was involved in Child Trafficking. I have no idea how true that was.

The best part of living in California is that they’ve made it illegal to catch rain.

sadly not unusual, there's a lot of places like that. there's even towns and cities in texas that regulate rain collection.

ARCSA: https://arcsainternational.org/arcsa-education/documentation

OUR MISSION To provide resources and information on rainwater and stormwater collection, making rainwater conservation accessible to all and to work with government at every level to promote the advancement of rainwater management.

Looks like the main interest in Texas, at the state level anyway, is with rainwater harvesting that connects to public water supplies, which seems reasonable.

good point.

GDP

It just annoys the hell out of me when people treat GDP like the only factor to consider when it comes to economics. Guy made the argument that because farming was only 5% of the GDP, they somehow shouldn't get any preference in water usage, even though there are other arguments for prioritizing food production, even during a draught. I'm not saying making sure people have drinking water and even waste disposal during a draught isn't important, it is, but that's hardly the only usage water goes to in cities, especially in a land of swimming pools...

I disagree. Of course the abundant water and air of OUR planet is ours to share as our right and should not be "owned" by corporations. If your most basic needs are not freely met, you most certainly are a slave to overlords.

That can not be a legal deal structure. This should be un-tangled in public... immediately! There are dimensions of wrong doing here in one orbit. And, worse... typical.

In all honesty, they are brilliant capitalists who play the game very well.

I am not sure I saw any tie to the cabal in this video, but I would guess/assume that they are deep into it.

In all honesty, they are brilliant capitalists who play the game very well.

Lmao. Sure if you like playing extremely rigged games, in countries with rigged elections, with paid off, black mailed officials, with the backing of Israel.

You too could be a brilliant capitalist if you rigged the game!

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– changeagent 2 points 1 year ago +2 / -0

They obviously know how to navigate the systems. Blackmail? They must be the only ones doing it. Paying people off? Rigging things? FFS there are regular (non-billionaies) people who do that shit. The system is flawed. And they take advantage of it.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 5 ▼
– MEGAMAGAULTRA 5 points 1 year ago +5 / -0

Exactly.

Illegal. Not great capitalists. Great at being criminals.

So they're not brilliant capitalists.

If you end i were playing monopoly, but I kept stealing your money and the banks money, would you consider me a brilliant monopoly player?

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– changeagent 2 points 1 year ago +2 / -0

If you did it and I couldn't stop you, yes. But playing a game is a lot easier to prevent someone from stealing if you're paying attention.

Also, do we have proof they've stolen anything? My simple point has been that they used the systems (and loop holes) available to them... available to anyone... and they got ahead.

Just because they are amoral fucks and ruin life for everyone else does not make them bad capitalists. Capitalism is about winning and putting your competition out of business. They do it on a grand scale, but this dynamic plays out on every level down to the small town mom and pop shops. People use whatever legal means they can to win and to benefit themselves. Some people say, "That's not fair." And there are criminals who make it even worse. I'm just not seeing what exactly this couple has done that would put them in jail. They are being sued... that's good... it's part of the game.

I don't know... it's fucked up. People like this frustrate me.

brilliant +immoral+ “capitalists”, who are gaining their wealth through communistic means, which we need to find ways to make illegal unless the people impacted by their activity consciously and explicitly agree to it, and/or are compensated.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– changeagent 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

Not sure what is communistic... they are leveraging their money.

I don't like what they've done. If anything it is a case example of how amoral (not immoral) people can take advantage of a system like capitalism.

Is capitalism better than communism and socialism? Absolutely. Can we do better? Yes. Do I know what that looks like? No.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 8 ▼

Nothing Constitutional about their activity - we’ve just been brainwashed to think so…

Let’s start with income tax.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– changeagent 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

I don't think I said it was constitutional.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 7 ▼
– AmateurExpert 7 points 1 year ago +7 / -0

“Communistic” in that they’ve leveraged public funding and public legal protections to “buy” private ownership of public resources by somehow leveraging “public servants” to sign them over without (legitimate, earnest) public approval or benefit.

Don't get hung up on labels, there’s still effective private ownership of assets under “communism”, they just obscure (or flaunt, if through violence) how it’s done to limit competition and lower their costs.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 3 ▼
– changeagent 3 points 1 year ago +3 / -0

I just think you're giving communism too much credit. What they're doing is pure manipulation within a system that allows it.

I'm old enough to know that their are two sides to every story. I am sure the Risnicks, and farmers have a different story, and I wish I could hear both side tell it side by side.

This is why I wish that Rogan, Musk, or the white house even should host oxford style debates on key subjects. (prior to debate, vote on proposition. After debate see which side the needle moved the most) This would bring information out of echo chambers, and insure max number of people were exposed to facts, because each side would be plugging for their side to win.
