ALERT: Effective January 22, 2025, USCIS waives any and all requirements that applicants for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident present documentation on their Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, that they received the COVID-19 vaccination. USCIS will not issue any Request for Evidence (RFE) or Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID) related to proving a COVID-19 vaccination. USCIS will not deny any adjustment of status application based on the applicant’s failure to present documentation that they received the COVID-19 vaccination.
Technically this doesn't apply to applications from abroad. so this wouldn't have helped even if it came sooner. But i'm hopeful to be able to post some updates in the near future. Things have been bleak for a while, which is why i dropped off, but there's hope which got me to sign on again.
I remember someone having a hard time getting in, because they demanded the wife get the clot shot. Was this him? I read many post from him at the time and it just broke my heart what they were going through. I hope that this move sets everything right for them.
That was me too! We ended up going through the vaccine waiver route, but this still makes things easier for us as we are waiting on my wife’s green card :)
I've seen a lot of people have trouble with that. I'm in a group with other immigrants and a lot of them were down to the last hour right before this announcement. it's been a huge relief for a lot of families.
That was probably me and a lot of other people. I started my wife's application about 4 years ago. it stalled out and i ultimately had to drop it. So i'm technically kind of still in exile, but at least things are looking up.
I'm glad people still think of me. I dropped off for a while, but now that Trump is in office i want to be on the boards to keep track of all the winning.
I'm hoping soon. Technically trump only dropped the requirement for people changing inside the united states from another visa, and not from abroad. So i'm hoping to be able to post good news in the next month or two.
It's been a drag, but god does everything for a reason. I'm only starting to see what he had in mind so we'll see how things play out. Where we go one, we go all.
This only applies if you're already in the US -- that's what an adjustment of status is, means you're already in the US and want to change to being a permanent resident. If you're applying for a green card from overseas (the consular process) the covid vax is STILL REQUIRED.
I've been keeping an eye on this because my wife and I plan to move back to the States, but can't until this is lifted in its entirely. I'm hoping RFK helps lifting all vaccine requirements once he's on board!
And my axe. Thirdly confirming USCIS definitely checks these documents and if you cannot provide adequate medical records they will schedule you an appt to get jabber'd for X,Y,Z... similar protocol they do for biometrics and interviews.
Indeed. We have an anon here who's been stuck outside the US with his legal immigrant wife. Here's one of his older posts (he has several on the topic) --
Thank You Lord I won't have to sell my house and have to restart a life with my American family in another country because of this stupid vaccine. Now I can become a citizen.
This is great news. However there are still other mandatory vaccines for legal immigrants that needs to be removed. I was lucky to immigrate when it was only a TB test requirement but last I looked there is a long list of vaccines mandates to obtain green card status.
You mean we were still requiring proof of vaccination for Covid to enter the US?
So does that means that every legal foreigner in our country is confirmed jabbed? Like it was required even for students, tourists, etc., not just immigrants?
During the covid hoax I was banned from entering the US to see my folks for a 10-day trip. I mean to say not residency. That requirement was removed a couple of years ago and when I travel to your country now they do not care about covid vax documentation. So no, I was legally in the US and if you ran into me you would have been talking to a still proudly unjabbed person.
HURRAH!!! Welcome home, brothers and sisters!
If Massie is stoked, you know this is a good and honest move by Trump.
paging u/retardmonkey. Will this help his family?

Yes. Retardmonkey and I were talking about this.
Glad they finally did this

Tis a glorious day
This doesn't apply to applications from abroad. So not yet, but hopefully soon.
I was just looking for his name to find out the same! Excited our people can come home!!!

I hope so for him and his wifes sake..
I remember someone having a hard time getting in, because they demanded the wife get the clot shot. Was this him? I read many post from him at the time and it just broke my heart what they were going through. I hope that this move sets everything right for them.
Yes, that's him. Among others in GAW, of course, but he's the most vocal. You can read his posts here: ( u/retardmonkey )
Correct. The ridiculous mandates are why my clan has forgone flying to Europe to visit family in over four years now!
Praise the lord! It's vacation time this Summer! No beet, borscht, nor brew will be safe upon my return to the bog!
That was me too! We ended up going through the vaccine waiver route, but this still makes things easier for us as we are waiting on my wife’s green card :)

I thought of retard M as well , haven’t seen him on here but yes him and wife and kids can come home now
I'm glad people still think of me. I dropped off for a while, but now that Trump is in office i want to be on the boards to keep track of all the winning.
Hey Fren , can you and family come home now ?
I'm hoping soon. Technically trump only dropped the requirement for people changing inside the united states from another visa, and not from abroad. So i'm hoping to be able to post good news in the next month or two.
Praise God ! Been praying for you and family Fren ! Please let us know as soon as you hear , welcome home is coming !
I think I remembered hearing you still weren’t able to come so I went back to read post and saw u can’t , I’m sorry and what a drag !
It's been a drag, but god does everything for a reason. I'm only starting to see what he had in mind so we'll see how things play out. Where we go one, we go all.

This is true but lets hope RFK Jr delivers the needed changes.
Thanks. That's incredibly disappointing to hear.
Question. Is the mandate over for all the other shots? Can someone immigrate without shots?
Especially considering those also switched to mRNA
My wife had to get everything except the vid shot a few years ago. The answer sadly is no
can confirm
And my axe. Thirdly confirming USCIS definitely checks these documents and if you cannot provide adequate medical records they will schedule you an appt to get jabber'd for X,Y,Z... similar protocol they do for biometrics and interviews.
best news I've heard all day
Stuck overseas?! That has actually been a thing?!?!

So much for holding a blue passport, if you don't have a covid vax card.
How was this even possible?!?
Welcoming home a bunch of dual citizenship holders?
Someone on her repeatedly asked for this.
Hope they get the person home they were trying to get back.
Yes his wife was stuck overseas as others have said.
Yes.
How the fuck is there still a vaccine mandate?
Thank You Lord I won't have to sell my house and have to restart a life with my American family in another country because of this stupid vaccine. Now I can become a citizen.
Great news and many on this board have asked about this for a while now.

Suspends? Throw it in the trash and burn it!
