First one needs to pull the trigger, the trigger causes some sort of chemical reaction, which, itself has some sort of process involved which takes microseconds if not milliseconds before a bullet emerges with sufficient momentum. After that it does take some time to reach the target. Again, probably milliseconds or even seconds if the target is far enough away. etc etc.
All things take time but considering that we are putting a definite & final end to a millennia old beast this will all be considered, "at once" when we look back but yes, Trump & team is masterfully playing a well thought out game. It is amazing to watch all these brilliant moves
